When I saw the video title I thought it would be like that one squid-catching place but NO THIS IS ACTUALLY SO COOL. Also not going to lie, the idea of catching the fish and the immediate turnaround of it being turned into sashimi is a definite plus.
oh, that guy was very good at english. -i semi-recently learned that a lot of japanese might be ok with reading or writing english, but speaking it is something else entirely, -so now i appreciate hearing when they're good at it, whenever it shows up in a video
I mean that’s how it is for almost all English learners, Japanese or not. We learn only by reading and writing, but we don’t have the environment for speaking English. So our spoken English tends to be way below our reading and writing. This guy in particular is really advanced.
@@imthecoolest50 i guess i've had a privilegie(?) of growing up in a country where we don't translate much english in games or films, so a lot of the youth, around 7-10, already know a fair share of english and most in their 20s can speak it fluently
The diversity of restaurants and food options in Japan are so fascinating. Thank you very much for sharing your adventures. Hoping for a night market trip sometime.
There was a restaurant in the Santa Cruz mountains of California USA that was built around an actual running brook. You could get all sorts of dishes, and even catch your own trout. It was amazing. You two go to some of the most unique places and I enjoy watching your adventures. I don't always find the food to be what I'd eat, but you seem to enjoy it. Mrs. B's smile and happy attitude are infectious. She brings such joy to your videos. Thank you for sharing your part of the world.
Well, it looked different from the one in Osaka, but the fish looked a bit more lively and plentiful at this one. It was pricey, but given the world market, it is a reasonable price given the overall experience. It would be interesting to see the other one again and see if there are any changes. Ms. B, giggling is always appreciated.
What a unique experience! Catching your own fish and getting it cooked or presented in a variety of ways. Everything looked delicious. I am not a fan of uncooked stuff, but it looked good. That rice with the hot broth and fish, looked great. Thank you for sharing 🙏 Until our next video 🍀
As a American I loved Japan before I even knew Japan existed as a child lol from the Super Nintendo to the Gameboy to Sony televisions to Play station to Dragon ball Z to Pokemon to Casio wrist watches to Cup Noodles haha the list goes on and on and these HI-CHEW'S are delicious 😉👍🇯🇵

@@Wingading1 Right, because animal abuse totally doesn't exist everywhere. You're American, aren't you, where PETA literally tortures cats and dogs alive because they believe they're pathetic and get away with it even now?
Basically, in fishing or netting, fish are suffocated for a long time before they die. It might be less painful for the fish to be processed on the spot.
This looks like a lot of fun and I'd want to check this place out next time I go to Japan. What's it called? As usual, Mrs. Bacons was her adorable self who we love so much! Seeing you pop the eyeball out reminds me of how when I was a kid my family were friends with a Chinese family, and one day their father was cooking a whole steamed fish. We kids were hanging out in the kitchen and watching him cook, and without warning other than a sly grin? He popped out an eyeball with his chopsticks and ate it! We all of course said "EEEEWWWWWWW,' and he grinned and said "What? It's best part of the fish!" I've never forgotten that moment and it contributed to me being a more adventurous eater in later years.
The video on the Osaka fishing restaurant is one of my favorites, it's become a comfort video for me and I watch it probably every month or so. So this is really cool to see a similar restaurant, And get to pick out the small differences between the two. The fish definitely seemed better cared for here, though the food at the other place was maybe even better presented
For dang near a 100$ I'll just take off work early and go fishing, get all the ingredients I need at the grocers and spend the rest on top quality sake. Great video per usual though.
They used to have those marble ball sodas here for a while, like quite a long time ago. I found some in the river here but they don't make them here anymore.
I have heard striped Jack is really tasty. What an awesome time! As an angler my whole life I really appreciate you sharing this cool experience! Thank you 🙏🏻 also 日本 だい すき! so much adoration for such a beautiful nation damn I miss it 😢
Sea bream is a wonderful fish to eat but I was surprised by the size of the horse mackerel. I was expecting them to be as big as the mackerel my Uncle used to catch in Nova Scotia 😂
Sooo Cool!!! I might be studying abroad near Osaka next year. I’ve been learning Japanese for two years in preparation. I’m so excited! Thanks for posting these videos, I’ve been binging them! 😅
im more of a seafood fan than a fish fan but this looks sooooo fun!!! we can't have nice things like this in america because too many people are disrespectful and would destroy things and terrorize the fish =/

Yes, at The Mandarin restaurant there are 2 beautiful koi ponds and each pond has multiple signs telling people not to throw money or food in the ponds. The ponds are littered with coins and bits of fortune cookies and even candy are always floating in it.
Mrs Bacon is amazing but we all think Mr Bacon is only a pair of hands with no body or head 😅... will we ever get to see what Mr Bacon looks like? or better yet, will we ever get to see the happy couple enjoying their experience together?

It was nice to hear the member of staff explain how it works, and when that sashimi first came out it was so crystal clear I thought it was ice 😅

It's kind of like death row but for fish

the executioner drum when you catch a fish because it's getting murdered in like 5 seconds. 😂

Wow, this looks like an amazing experience! The fresh seafood and the atmosphere of a fishing restaurant in Tokyo must be incredible.
I feel kind of bad for the fish lol. Cool concept though.
I wonder if they just take em out for show and then put em back in.. and cook a previously prepared fish instead

Love the concept of a compulsory appetizer. You WILL be pre-fed and enjoy it.
