I'm so sad. I was friends with Andy yet I didn't buy a ticket to his concert till this year. And now Andy has passed, and I can't see him live. I wish I could stop crying. I'm sorry to Andy's family and friends, you all will push his legacy to greater heights, I just hope I can help. RIP Andy J, my hero.
Lost 2/3 of my best friends in the last couple years (suicide and sharks). Katastro has been my favorite band since I was 15 and I used to see them when I was in highschool play in downtown LA. I feel immense loss knowing Andy has passed. Rip to him and all hope the best for all his friends/family.
Sorry for commenting again lol but dude, your tracks have become such great comfort noise. I'm like a sahm, full time artist rn and everything you guys sing and say is so relatable it makes it a lot easier to stay focused whether it's cleaning or sewing or like any project without sound to it. When I'm wanting a more adult energy. This one's like my favorite lol bc it's talking and music idk lol but dude, I will never get over how universal your music is. I told you guys once before but it shocks me how like, in DT SD I worked in a Subway Restraunt that we got to be in charge of the music and your's was the onllyyyy thing I could play to make sure everyone was happy in a really chill way which was great lol bc I worked the overnight and it gave such a "Be cool or else lol but if you are cool, we'll have a really great time vibe." lol thankiesss :)

Old Katastro was the bee's knees. Just seems like lead singer got hooked on drugs and thinks he's a rapper now. Even at their concert you could see a different vibe from them than the other bands, like Iration, Pepper, Fortunate Youth... They aren't even in the same genre now. Just drugs and BS in the lyrics. Miss the guitars. Miss the chill vibe.
I feel you about the old sound being different. I still mostly enjoy the old songs more for sure, but still a fan of their new stuff too. The old jams had something chill and smooth to them, but bands always evolve in some kind of newer sound at some point.
