I dont understand why people are calling Sofia selfish in this song. She has to share her mom all of a sudden when they had great times.
People shouldn't be mad at Sofia. She was an only child for 8 years. Miranda gave all her love and affection to Sofia. Then when Miranda married Roland not only does Sofia get step siblings she had to share Miranda's love and affection. Where Amber and James are used sharing Roland love affection.

This song is so sad...she just loves her mom and wants her to herself...
This is a situation that Sofia's mother should have seen coming and explain to Sofia that even though she's giving love to Amber and James, she still loves Sofia as much as she did when she was little.
Anyone calling Sofia selfish clearly never had siblings. It sucks when you have to share your parents’ love and affection. Especially when you’ve been an only child without a second parent to be there for you.
I remember whenever this episode was on TV I would run around the house singing this song. If it was a day I was feeling upset I'd just sit and cry

sofia the first dealt with super mature concepts and conflicts. kids can still understand them and learn from them, though.

Really this show was much better than anyone gives it credit for. It gives a good look into the actualities of step families, and even when touching on dark topics (Such as Sofia's father and the twin's mother's deaths) it keeps things very real. Sofia missing when it was just her and her mother is a feeling a lot of kids in her situation felt. On top of that, her and her mother went through the loss of her father together, and from the implications of the show became closer because of it. Her feeling of being pushed aside and outshone by her siblings likely comes from how close they got after her father was lost at sea, and how simple things were then. Especially since throughout her life, the only completely consistently dependable person was her mother. Even when the father died, she was moved away from her old school and village and put into a new school filled with people she'd never met, she still had her mother. So really, nobody can be upset with her for feeling this way, especially with all she's been through.
I'm 20... And I still cry to this song.

ngl this song is so relatable, i loved my mom when i was younger, we’d used to spend so much time together but as i got older she would be rude and not want to spend any time with me. i love her and i know she loves me but sometimes families hard
