I just don't understand why they don't give Lady Pamela Meghan's seat. It is vacant!
EXACTLY what I was thinking!
What a well conducted discussion thank you Dan. Each guest allowed the others to speak without shouting over them. A pleasure to listen this time.
I think that both should have been invited. The northern Ireland minister should not be responsible for the actions of the past that she herself did not commit. She is a democratically elected leader.
The ONLY reason Sinn Fein has NI is the same as why Khan is Mayor of London. The breeding habits of 2 faith groups determined to destroy the Earth. Sick.
Fair enough
Maybe, but, there are photos of her doing the rounds wearing an IRA beret at an IRA funeral when younger. She and her cohorts also blatantly ignored Covid-19 regulations attending the funeral of an IRA terrorist when the streets were lined. (One law for us, one law for them) Meanwhile, the rest of us burying family members during the pandemic were restricted to 30 people
Then why the culture of cancellations?
Invite them both and put Harry in between them.
I always thought Mountbatten was his favourite uncle
Mountbatten never abused his own godson. Just strangers' children

I am sure Lady Pamela would much prefer to watch the coronation on tv in the comfort of her home with a cup of tea and biscuits.
I do think that Lady Pamela at 94 years old, would find attending the coronation rather grueling for her. Besides, we don't really know if privately, it was her own choice to give it a miss this time?
I tend to agree with you Brenda.
Why don't they give lady Pamela megens seat
Brilliant!
Yes please! 🤗🤗😁😁😁🤣🤣
What 94yr old would want to sit through a 3hr service??????
Lady Pamela will not miss the agony of sitting through a service and keeping still.
Yes, but she should have been invited! She would have been one of the few people on the planet 🌎 to have attended Three Coronations!
wdym She actually made it known that she was looking forward to going.
Old people can sit still ! They are not little kids .
Only immature unrefined people have difficulty "sitting still" and behaving appropriately during services. Lady Pamela - of all people - would know EXACTLY how to behave.
The loo will call -3 hrs is too long for a 94 yr old 🤔
Great panel! Edwina Curry was the best one. Please have her back!
Bit difficult not to invite her when shes essentially the First Minister of Northern Ireland i doubt the King has much say on who gets invited from the political world.
King Charles diverse coronation is not going down very well with many people
Not true just in your media bubble
I wonder will he have sections of the cathedral set aside for his woke activist buddies?
It is never a good idea to go against the (blameless ) majority - a lesson many need to learn who support and affirm
any minority /cause - some of which are very nasty and bullying to say the least . Charles ignores that at his peril .
Outside family he probably has little say in who comes or does not come

If Lady Pamela didn't think she wanted to sit thru three hours of a service, it should have been up to her. She should have at least been given the opportunity to make that decision for herself.

The occasion give peace a chance
King Charles and his advisers are treading a very thin line and are on the verge of slipping off. Such controversy should be avoided. Invite both to show forgiveness and unity or do not invite either one. Let’s show some common sense and respect.
Could someone please remind the king that this is a Christian country.
It's called Britain.
It seems to have slipped his diverse memory.
Northern Ireland has an IRA republican FM and Scotland has a Pakistani, Muslim republican FM and the UK has a Indian Hindu PM. The United Kingdom is toast.
The UK has been toast for a long time now. And not because of the Recent foreigners as head. True she ruled the wave for two hundred years. Yes please well said
If oneill was honest she would stay at home and say she could not go
She is being honest, she's traveling with the Irish President and Taoiseach to visit a foreign head of state on his big day.
It's just a happy coincidence that by doing that, it's also sent the DUP and TUV into conniptions as poor old Jeff only got a last minute invite and will be sitting in row Z with the micro nations. Wonder if Charles will take the piss out of him again like the last time he visited 😂
It is very sadly impossible to have any respect for Charles. His reign will be a great risk for the British monarchy.
No, no - King Charles is just too intelligent, sensitive and decent for the likes of those who aren't so much.
@@keithgiblin2636 oh please!
Regrettably, I have been forced to the same conclusion. This King has a case of Stockholm Syndrome that spills over onto his family and the shared view of his suitability.
He has been soft on HM, relying on palace courtiers who are hopelessly out of touch with the Zeitgeist, acting and advising like old aristocracy, (whereas, on coronation populism and 'inclusiveness,' I'm not certain).
In turn, Prince William and Princess Catherine are put in untenable positions of having to deal with those miserable, narcissistic ingrates. Charles' actions and manner toward HM bespeak a revolting lack of concern for William's and Catherine's position, feelings and needs.
The coronation is primarily an event for and about the country, and not about family per se. He wants a pageant of wokeness and populism that degrades the solemnity and regality that are the essence of the coronation. He wants inclusive religiosity within the confines of Westminster Abbey, the Church of England and a ceremony which are all AVOWEDLY CHRISTIAN. He turns his back on and excludes the non-royal dukes, non-royal duchesses and the other aristocrats who helped bolster and morally support the Royal Family. And for the most part he continues with "Never complain, never explain."
Every single one of these decisions and actions is the exact opposite of what he should be doing. William and the Palace made a very bad decision re Lady Susan Hussey and that fraudster Marlene Headley (?) [Ngoze Fulani (?)]. However I am looking forward more to the coronation of King William V than to that of King Charles III.
Throughout his reign, Charles may continue showing kindness, but it accompanies his fundamental fear of and resistance to confrontation (sometimes a necessary part of life), and this will lead him to be perceived as weak by many people, as he already is.
@Keith Giblin that's laughable. Good lord. Get off the pipe.
@@Poetess2323 Then prove me wrong, rude and sad name-caller.
If I think my mother was in her 90s she certainly could not sit through the coronation.
I agree with Edwina, the Lady would find the service to tiring for her. She is probably going to one of the gatherings taking place later on.

Do we want her to sit in the GB Parliament?
The coronation is primarily a state occasion and only secondly a family one. Sometimes politics has to take precedence no matter how unpleasant it may be. Probably the government had a say in this.
The Royal family do not write up the invitations. That’s the job of your Government department. So, stop blaming the poor BRF 🙏🐨🦘
I would imagine when KCIII meets his parents again, they may well give him a good smack upside the head...asking him: "what the hell were you thinking??!!"
HELL NO!!!!
The coronation is a state affair, hence stately things were given more importance than personal choices, me thinks.
A load of bad feelings, from some.
The two women are not being pitched against each other regarding invitations. I agreed with the panellist: the Irish MP is a political invitation, as it is a State occasion, and I think Lady Pamela Hicks should’ve been invited, as part of his personal bloc, as she is a family member. I cannot accept that he couldn’t fit Lady Pamela in, and we know she was looking forward to it. She is also the oldest living descendant of Queen Victoria.
Isn't the British Government making most of the guest decisions as it's a State event?
Anyone seriously believe Edwina Currie has been inside an Aldi 😂😂
Shelves are now much more bare?
The Queen' 1953 coronation was just after WWII and coupon rationing still on. But the Govt thought a splendid coronation would boost spirits.
Why even seek Edwina's opinion...
@@richardshortall5987 I don't need asking to give my opinion pal 😂
Maybe charles had a meeting with her and she might have said 3 hours is to much for her
A bit of a touchy subject this with the IRA. But..... Now that we are all friends etc. We are also saying that the past should stay in the past. Let's look at what we are saying about slavery. Today people are being judged on what their great grandparents did over 100 years old. But that was then and why should that grandchild (or who ever) be blamed for what their great grand parent did over 100 years ago! The same can be said for the NI leader. If we are to all stay friends and to never repeat the things of the past. Then yes she should be invited (it's all political BS anyway). But then invite the late Queens bridesmaid also. The only way people can move forward is to remember the past and learn from it.
KC is looking to the future & not to the past. You are talking about someone who was a bridesmaid for the Queen & apart from him being grateful for her service to her, she’s not really relevant now. If KC invited just anyone who had any dealings with the RF, the guest list would run into hundreds of thousands!
Give Lady Hamilton a seat and cancel Harry.
Isn't this a STATE occasion so is it the government or Charles who hand picked the attendees?
Lady Pamela Hicks well deserves an invitation. O’Neil being invited is disgusting and I’m American!
Why is it disgusting? O'Neill is the designated First Minister of Stormont and a representative of the people from the North of Ireland.
I'll tell you what is disgusting though, what Pamela Hicks father did to all those young boys.

Politics is wrong. This is for the Anglican British people z, I’m Catholic, and I think it’s offensive to invite a former foe there. This is a sacred Anglican ceremony, to invite doesn’t sit well with some, I don’t thing Queen would feel it was appreciated, I’m sure no disrespect. i think yes she should come ,no point in living in past, the king was close to his uncle so the King has moved on, i think more seats would be good
Lady Pamela has already made a statement. That aside, interesting discussion. Change is coming
I hadn’t thought of the practicalities & comfort of Pamela Hicks, a 94-year-old woman in a wheelchair, but I still think she & another party to care for her should’ve been invited out of respect for tradition &, frankly, a special & extraordinary story, connection to the Queen & excellent PR!
It's a strange world we live in - a state occasion so does the government control the invitation list ?
He should have invited Lady Pamela
lady pamela is family!!!!!
Ninas on the harkles pay roll
The fact is the Abbey can accommodate both women, and the gesture would have been a kindness to Lady Pamela at her age and stature. She probably would have regretted due to the length of the service, so why not do the right thing and extend the invitation?
I would never seek nor wish to hear any opinions from such awful, not needed nor wanted people! Wootton BAD CHOICE!😡👎
Where is the wonderful Lady C?!!.
She probably requested not to be invited . It is too difficult for a 90 + years to sit for so long in one place!
If the RF doesn't connect to today's big players, it's doomed.
Dan, I think you have hit the nail on the head and are spot on with your commentary. The King needs to do something about these two dangerous people or this nonsense will never stop.
Government is responsible for inviting Heads of State & politicians etc.Not King Charles.
reconciliation is very important for a multi nation kingdom.
That’s what I’ve had to decide with my family! SOD THEM 😱😂😂
He"s really so absolutely clueless. 😂
Yes Lady Pamela should be invited. The lady from Northern Ireland should not be there. The person from China should not be there.
It’s one thing for O’Neill to be invited, it’s quite another for her to attend. If she had any integrity, she wouldn’t attend. She can’t have it both ways
Yes she should be invited. The job of the Monarchy is to help keep the UK together!
Government is responsible for invites to Heads of State and politicians.
Perhaps he's spoken to her privately.
I understand why she is not invited she is well in her 90s and possibly this is something she would not be able to cope with, who knows perhaps she declined an invite.
For Pete's Sakes don't 2nd guess! Use your common sense or better yet use your heart! Age is absolutely NO reason to not honor his Mother by inviting her friend & former bridesmaid. It's out of respect for his Mom. Whether she decides to come is totally up to her. The important thing is they're letting her know their friendship was valued and is being honored! That's a wonderful loving feeling for any 94yr old to receive!♥
@@soulsync8888 I absolutely believe you when you say she was looking forward to the coronation. I would be too! At that age, there's not much to look forward to for excitement. That's natural & understandable! Besides, inviting Lady Pamela is a lovely way to honor the memory of his Mother!
Charles, unlike his Mother, lived an over the top indulgent & extravagant lifestyle. A small, but telling example: whether he was visiting friends for the weekend or another country for a week, it's reported he'd moved his entire bedroom suite to his destination. His hosts needed to clear out the room he'd be staying in to make room for his own furniture.
I could be wrong, but I've always thought this pairing down of the Monarchy's spending & # family members involved might be more a reflection of or deflecting from his own personal jealousy of other family members & his over the top spending than anything else.
I could be wrong, but I don't think so.🤣
It is a State occasion, I think the government has made a lot of the decisions regarding invitations for the coronation. It's not the Kings birthday party.Divisions will continue if you don't talk.
PMela Hicks was invited and declined
All other things aside, Mountbatten was not murdered for political reasons.
Definitely shouldn’t have been given an invite. Places should only be given to those who appreciate the significance of the occasion and support the monarchy.
More to the point WHY wasn’t she invited RATHER she was Snubbed as they put it?
Don’t forget Pamela Hicks’ daughter was also a flower girl for Charles and Diana at their wedding. So mean 😮not good enough. Its a church ceremony not a political conference!
Maybe BOTH should be invited and lets get past the past!
Gosh, these deliberations over the coronation and the Markles really are acquiring more than just a touch of 'Loose Women' as the Big Day approaches!

State occasion , the government decide who goes not King Charles, take it up with the government .
What happened was absolutely terrible for both sides, and people have every right to feel angry over this, But if she took no part in it, then what is the problem??
What's the solution have a president like the French guy look what at his attitude to the French people this crowning of a monarch is just one day lots of people like all this and the British isles do this stuff well
Don't care!
It is a insult, bad move. This comes from person who did two tours in the 80s in the Army.
Okay Redsuit. She can gracefully decline but not extending the invitation is classless.
The past has to be left in the past. You have to move on. Inclusivity is maybe what KC111 is thinking.
Mending bridges. Necessary.
Hi Dan, I'm absolutely livid about this. Lady Pamela Mountbatten Hicks, daughter of KC3's favorite Uncle is missed of the guest list??? WHAT - I have written about this. I remember KC3's reaction when Lord Mountbatten was killed in Ireland, and have to say, 'how quickly they forget'! Prince Philip was a Mountbatten; half the RF children and grandchildren are named with the Mountbatten surnames. Has King Charles lost his mind? This is an unforgivable gaffe! Her response was gracious example of Noblesse Oblige... but accommodations should have been made, and they still can be. Mr. Dementia Biden isn't going, give Lady Hicks his seat! I'm shocked with this she must be feeling awful.
I read an interview she gave last week about this. As she had already been to 2 Coronations she is more than happy to celebrate this one at home with her family. She is in her 90's and wheelchair bound and as such would be too much for her.
The Romans had already claimed Hibernia (Ireland) as part of Britannia, but unfortunately their empire had already started to collapse before they could complete the process = would've saved a lot of trouble now.
What complete tripe , BUT as you bring it up ,All Hebrews should now sue the descendants of the black pharoahs for their slavery .
What do you mean?
No they didn't. Ive studied a bit on Roman empire and and quite a bit lately on their conquest of Britain and their interactions with Ireland. And I've not come across such a statement. If I'm wrong send me a trustworthy link. And on a side note, why would you assume if your statement was true that it would've made a difference today. I think the Irish would've still regarded themselves independent from Britain anyway. The trouble today is not from Roman empire collapse rather the rise of a British empire. And invasion and plantation. Kind of like what both nations are experiencing today from un-veted illegal migrants. I'm sure you don't like what's happening there.
