    Thank you so much for this video (and all your others too). I've found them all so helpful. I've found it very hard to find this kind of information presented in such a clear and friendly way. It's made my stitching time a lot more fun so thank you again.

    Thanks for this information! I have never used any metallic floss, other than Kreinik. Any time I stitch a pattern calling for Kreinik, I almost dread it, as I struggle with it. Thread Heaven is a must with Kreinik in my hands.

    I always thought that you had to use a single thread each of DMC & metallic. Don't ask me WHERE I thought that I'd heard that! It was always a pain in the rear to use. I'm gonna try it your way after watching your video. No wonder I've always veered away from using it! LOL Next project, I'm gonna do it right.

    Thanks Danielle. I have always used Kreinik with Thread heaven. I like the #4 braid, but hate the blending filament. I will try the Petite Treasure braid to see what it is like. I was using the Nordic Gold on a pattern I am doing. It is the most horrible metallic I have ever used. It would unravel while sewing and a 10 inch piece would stretch to 20 inches. I will never use it again. Great video.

    Thanks for this :) I've been stitching with DMC light effects for 2 days and luckily it's not driving me crazy. There are 25 colours. Been tying the ends so they don't fray. Not used kreinik before. Have used PTB on my HAED and whilst it is easier and best value for money out of the three, I find it a bit thin. Perhaps I will buy a selection and try them all out like you have.

    Thread Magic. Many like the container better. Biggest difference is the price. Thread Magic is the more expensive, or, at least it was the last time I could find both at JoAnns.

    I appreciate all of the videos on glitter thread, but I have yet to find a video with the glitter thread being used in hand embroidery on a baby quilt or the real thin fabric before it's quilted. you all just showed the canvas type. Why not on the other material? It's a lot more difficult and frustrating than the canvas type. So any and all tips will be so welcomed for the glitter thread sewers. So hopefully, next time I won't get flustered and throw it across the room. Thanks so much. Sharon. P.s. I have learned the hard way using this glitter thread how to actually get good at it, but can still use help. Thx again.

    I did a search on your channel for blending filament. What is it? How and when do you use it? I saw the video on blending threads and mettalics. Carolyn Mazzeo has a fantastic video on DMC light effects. Her way takes a little longer but wow is it beautiful. I don't know if you've watched it. Great videos as always! I love your stories.

    • @Stitcherista
      @Stitcherista  6 лет назад

      Blending filament is very, very thin thread (the best way I can describe it at least) that you combine with a strand of DMC to give it a sparkly look. It is very fiddly to work with and I did not even get any to try as I never use it.

    Great video! I do not have any experience with using metallic threads and will definitely refer back to this video as I begin to use them. The thread does look sparkly on camera but I was wondering if you can see it when the peice is hanging?

    • @Stitcherista
      @Stitcherista  6 лет назад

      Bekah Bannister you can see the sparkle when it is hanging. I am looking at peony pixie now on my walls and I can see the sparkle in her wings.

    Thank you so much for this video it's very helpful. I'm about to start my first project with metallics. Just a question---should you do all your stitches that call for regular thread first and do the metallics after? Or can you just do the stitches with metallics at any time? Hope that makes sense!

  • @swal8797
    @swal8797 5 лет назад
