Reflection is the name of the game! Thank you so much I am an almost (2 papers before March) Counsellor. I absolutely loved this it bought back stuff I know, stuff I didn’t know, new ideas and of course self reflection!! Can’t wait for your next pod cast❤
A very interesting and thoughtful insight into the various attachment styles that can feed into physiological issues. When i was a child of 7 my father died. I was the eldest of 4 children. In the 50 's children didn't go to funerals for closure. I spent many years searching for my dad as I couldn't believe he was dead. I never had closure with the ritual of a 😮funeral. I'm now 76 and I still feel that sense of loss and abandonment. Thank you Dr Cam Gill for a very interesting discussion. I look forward to your next podcast on spiralism, religion, and psychiatry. I should prove very interesting. Maureen, Devon UK
My psychologist recently told me that I have severe attachment issues, I get attached to things, as well as people, so like rocks, sticks, different things, I name almost everything in my room as well as all the walls in my house, I think it’s wierd and interesting to deal with, this was a very interesting interview
This is fascinating! Reminds me of when I used to volunteer in the church nursery drop-off for toddlers. At the time I was fascinated as to why some children would run and play with no issues being dropped off and some would cry for the whole hour that their parent was away but the most intriguing to me was when the child appeared very upset when the parent came back at pick up time. Often hitting the parent or even biting. I wish I had looked further into it at the time but then again I was knee deep in my own two toddlers! 😆 Thank you so much for posting! 😊👍
I would like to hear more about what psychiatrists who communicate with the public feel about “therapy speak”. It’s got to be complicated that people want to self educate in an field that’s inaccessible to many, but also aren’t getting all the information
