- In today's FM23 rebuild I will be attempting my toughest challenge yet, rebuilding the WORST TEAM in Scotland - Dumbarton FC.
Dumbarton Football Club is a semi-professional football club in Dumbarton, Scotland. Founded on 23 December 1872, they are one of the oldest football clubs in Scotland.
The club plays home games at the Dumbarton Football Stadium next to Dumbarton Castle.
They were one of the most successful of the nineteenth century, winning the Scottish Football League in the first two seasons of the competition (the first jointly with Rangers).
Our goal today? To try and push Dubmarton back into the picture at the top of Scottish football and potentially into European contention!

I have always made content throughout my professional career, however, it has always been for someone else. In May 2020 I decided that it was time to create something for myself. Football Manager has always been a game that I have loved so wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the tips and tricks that I've learnt!

Dumbarton have actually won the Scottish league title twice. They finished joint 1st in the first ever season in 1890-91 and after a playoff with Rangers ended 2-2 they were both declared champions. They also share another distinction with Rangers as the only two team to win all four divisions.
Dumbarton would have won if there’d been any idea of goal difference, goals scored or head-to-head record. They decided to play an extra game to decide the winner than finished 0-0. They then asked the teams to play a replay the next Wednesday. The Rangers chairman wrote to the SFA complaining that it was ok to ask a big team like Dumbarton to field a team during the week but Rangers wouldn’t be able to get players off their work, so the league was declared split. Meaning Dumbarton were also the first team to win the league, and the first team to retain it & win it outright. Scotlands original champions

Faticanti has been my man for awhile now.. Head of my not quite wonder kids list for lesser clubs.. Roma also have Christian Volpato, an Aussie teen Zidane like AM who's great and cheap and doable 👍

irl Dumbarton finished 2nd in League 2 last season. They should’ve, on paper, won the league with the squad they had but their form 2nd half of the season dipped dramatically and Stirling Albion (my team) finished the season being unbeaten since losing on 3rd December until the last game of the season when we’d already won the league and played a weakened side. Love seeing the lower Scottish leagues getting a bit of coverage on the FM youtube scene!

Can you rebuild AAB, from Denmark, they have just gotten relegated for the first time in history and have been a big team for the last 20 years they won the double in Denmark in 2014, ? Would be very fun i think

If you’re team is semi-pro, it’s very unlikely for your board to agree to go professional unless they are forced to. When I managed Alloa Athletic on FM22, I didn’t become fully professional until I reached the Premiership (which is obviously fully professional)
Makes no sense to me considering there was pro teams in the championship as well
@@HoodGamingUK technically the Scottish Championship isn’t a fully-professional league, so the board wasn’t required to turn the club professional
@@HoodGamingUKDumbarton we’re in the Championship only a few years ago. The reality is there isn’t enough money to make these teams go full time safely. Rangers are 15 mins up the road, Celtic half an hour away. At the top end of the championship the crowd was around 1,500.

I live in Clydebank just down the road from Dumbarton. Lovely wee stadium by the rock. Rangers B have been playing there recently.

been struggling for a save the last few days so as ive sat and watched through this video i picked the other team and went with Bonnyrigg Rose

@@HoodGamingUK got them up to the prem in 6 seasons, bit of a noob at the time was my first save without editor(only used it to remove unhappiness, maybe a little cash injection😜)

Can you rebuild Fredrikstad FK from Norway? They are equal with Rosenborg BK with most league and cup titles and are currently in The second division of Norway.
Ooo now that’s a fun challenge!
A super easy way I found to build up lower league (and sometimes higher too) teams is to just filter all players without a contract and look for ones with a high reputation. I raise the reputation number until I have around 100 recommendations and then offer them all trials to see their stars and end the trial after that, easy way to check a bunch of unknown players in a couple of days and fill up your squad with decent players that won't ask for too much money.
Yeah end of contract reputation searching is a great way to do it!
The play offs ain’t that confusing ie 1st gets automatic promotion then there’s a play off between 2nd 3rd and 4th and also who ever became 2nd bottom of the league above and who ever wins gets promoted or stays up (if the team from league above wins)
I guess it’s harder to understand than England. Gets messy when you add in teams from the division above

So with promotion and relegation in the lower leagues how it works is 2nd, 3rd and 4th will go into playoffs with 2nd bottom of the leuage above and play it that way

Hi mate, yes, I use a Custom Skin. It's called the Tato Skin (which is linked in the description) it's super easy to install

@@HoodGamingUKthink Sheffield FC are in Tier 8, northern premier league div 1 east. I went them in fm21 and managed to get to league 1. The board never built a new stadium and from nation league north to league 1 we played at Rotherham’s ground.
I'm sorry but I stay near albion rovers and they are official the fastest team I've seen dissappear from the Scottish leagues but they have great fans and they're the worst ran and worst performing clubs in Scotland

Just at the start of the video, but aren't Albion Rovers the worst team in Scotland? 150/1 for the title, the longest odds, compared to Dumbartons 2/9...
To add to this, Albion Rovers finished bottom in your first season and bottom in real life, so I think it's a strong argument they are actually the worst team in Scotland.
