Shri. Baskar Kousigan's detailing on 'Kumba-abhishegam' in accordance with Agama Sasthram is to be viewed with much more details than simply generalising it. Shri Baskaran himself states that Agama anushtanangal do vary from temple to temple, because of that particular consecration of that Temple based on so many varieties such as (1) Saivagamangal (Shiva only)-- 28 , (2) Sakthahma (Shakthi) Agamangal → Thanthirangal -- 96, and (3) Vaishnava Agamangal → Samhithai. And also Smartha Agamangal which are basically Six -- Shiva, Shakthi, Vishnu, Surya, Vigneshwara, and Karthikeya. Agama Vidhies are pronounced as Shruthi (heard as Asareeri-- no language, but impressions in brain) by various Rishies while in meditation, and remembered -- known as Smirithies (in a language they are conversant with). Shruthi consists of 2 parts -- Agama and Nigama (vedhas). Agamas are ‘Laws’ and Nigamas are enactment procedures. Agama and Nigama vary from place to place, from North Kashmir (Sanskrit) to South Kanya Kumari (Dravidam, a part of it is the present Tamizh). Dravidam was an old language in vogue South of Godavari river, from which many dialects including ‘old Tamizhiyam’ was developed by the Sage Agasthiar, as directed by Lord Shiva. Tamizh is the sister language of the old Sanskrit. If can be keenly observed, the closeness of these two languages are explicit in their Alphabets, grammer, and dialects. Rishies of the South India were known as Sidhdha Purushas -- great scientists who made lot of researches in the usage of herbs and minerals, which amongst them were (1) cutting huge granite rocks, and (2) lifting and transporting them to any distance and height. Till date, herbs are known to Sidhdha Vaithyars to liquify hard granite stones effortlessly without absorption or expulsion of any heat or any other energies. Likewise, certain herbal pastes were used as barricades by Sidhdhars to prevent the Earth’s Gravitational Force from acting on the material of the heavy Mass. To explain this phenomenon:-- As per known science, any object (mass) would exert a Centrifugal force on any other object. Similarly, Earth’s Core exerts a Centrifugal Force (gravitational Pull) on any thing and every thing, depending upon the intermediate distance amongst them. Centrifugal Force is an energy form having ‘frequency, wave length and amplitude’, and it can attract only ‘opposite poles (positive over negative)’. So also, if Earth’s Gravity is Negative in nature, it can attract only the ‘Positive Proton’ in the Atom of any object under question. So if a ‘medium’ is brought in between the Gravitational Pull and the object (Mass), then that ‘Mass’ has ‘no weight aspect’ in it at all, and can be easily handled. This was the method in vogue through out the world to transport very heavy and huge objects, whether in the case of Egyptian Pyramids, statues in Easter Island, or in Brahadeeswarar Temple in Tanjavoor. Thanjavoor Temple was constructed by the Architects of Raja Raja Cholan only as guided by the Sidhdhar known as Karuvoor Kizhar, as per Thamizh Agama Vidhies only. Most of the temples throughout India were constructed as per Vedha Agama Vidhies, and thus consecrated, and periodical Kumba Abhishegams are being performed. The science in the constructional difference between Vedha Agama and Tamizh Agama in Shiva Temples is detailed below:-- Temples as per Vedha Agama have (a) The tomb over the Garbha Graham which is relatively very small compared to the very tall peripheral Gopurams, (b) The single ‘Kalasam’ over the Garbha Graham has a pointed upright cone with a number of horizontal lotus shaped protruding edges, which all act as ‘energy receiving Antennas’. That Pancha Loka Kalasam is filled with ‘Nava Thanyangal (seeds of nine pulses))’. A continuous copper strip connects the Kalasam with the bottom of the deity in the Garbha Graham. Then connected by the same copper strip from that bottom of deity to the bottom of Nandhi, and then to Dhwajusthambam (Kodi Maram), and there after that upto the top Kalasams in the tall towers (in all the four temple boundaries). By this arrangement, ‘Energy’ is being absorbed from the ‘Ionosphere in the Cosmos’ and transmitted to the Deity. That Deity is charged ‘positively’. That is why Archagas in the temple Sanctum Sanctorum experience ‘Heat’ from the Deity. To reduce it, frequent Abhishegams are carried out, and that effluent Theertham is distributed to the devotees as Prasadham. In order to reduce that ‘heat energy’ further, the copper strip connection between the Deity and Nandhi, and then Nandhi to Dwajasthambham, and then to the top of tall temple towers help to dissipate back to the Cosmos. In many temples, a huge water tank (termed as Sthala Punya Theertham) is also provided in the South East Corner of that Temple Complex to cool down further heat, caused to the Main Deity. Hence, a ‘continuous Positive Energy Flow’ is experienced by the devotees, who feel relieved by temple worship. This is the main Moto in the construction of Temples according to Vedha Agama Vidhi. Some temples constructed as per the guidance of Sidhdha Purusha Agamam in Tamil Nadu, such as Brahdeeswarar Temple in Thanjavoor, has a different arrangement. It has a huge and very tall Gopuram over Garbha Graham. It has a very big Kalasam with a pointed Cone, at the top of that tower, filled with Nava Thanyangal. The copper strip connection from the Tower top Kalasam, through the very huge Lingam, ended with an original small Nandhi (This very big Nandhi was installed in a later period by Nayakkar king). There is no Dhwajasthambham or metal strip connection with the small temple tower in the compound wall. So the ‘Energy Flow’ in this temple is reversed, and said to have ‘Negative Energy’, and thereby some ill effects (termed as ‘Chabham (curse)). This was well known to the Sidhdha Purushar, Karuvoor Kizhar, and tried to pacify Raja Raja Cholan to perform the rituals as per Tamizh Agama Vidhies, specially chalked out by Him. The Emperor did not pay any heed to it, and performed Kumbha Abhishegam and other rituals as per Vaidheega Agama Vidhies. That is why the great emperor faced many ill occurrences such as (i) he had to stay in the temple complex away from his palace till his end, (ii) the death of his son in the battle, (iii) his own death (it is construed to be a murder / accidental death) in the temple premises, and (iv) many famines in his kingdom. Hence it is advisable to carry out the ensuing Kumbha Abhishegam according to Tamizh Agama Vidhies, and of course with the cooperation of Temple Sivacharyars. Shame on govt,, why not taking steps to preserve and safeguard our heritage,, three years ago I heard about the theft of idiols from thanjore temple and being taken to Gujarat and Maharashtra.. Now the gopuram has been removed,, very disturbing and disappointed. We people have to take steps to safeguard temples of TN for our future generations.
They best way to solve this on my opinion is, many inscriptions had been inscribed in the temple, which say about the people who worked, helped and the donations that they gave et.. it is also said in the inscriptions that how the poja work is to be done, so it's better we follow the inscriptions.😀😀😀

Shri. Baskar Kousigan's detailing on 'Kumba-abhishegam' in accordance with Agama Sasthram is to be viewed with much more details than simply generalising it. Shri Baskaran himself states that Agama anushtanangal do vary from temple to temple, because of that particular consecration of that Temple based on so many varieties such as (1) Saivagamangal (Shiva only)-- 28 , (2) Sakthahma (Shakthi) Agamangal → Thanthirangal -- 96, and (3) Vaishnava Agamangal → Samhithai. And also Smartha Agamangal which are basically Six -- Shiva, Shakthi, Vishnu, Surya, Vigneshwara, and Karthikeya. Agama Vidhies are pronounced as Shruthi (heard as Asareeri-- no language, but impressions in brain) by various Rishies while in meditation, and remembered -- known as Smirithies (in a language they are conversant with). Shruthi consists of 2 parts -- Agama and Nigama (vedhas). Agamas are ‘Laws’ and Nigamas are enactment procedures.
Agama and Nigama vary from place to place, from North Kashmir (Sanskrit) to South Kanya Kumari (Dravidam, a part of it is the present Tamizh). Dravidam was an old language in vogue South of Godavari river, from which many dialects including ‘old Tamizhiyam’ was developed by the Sage Agasthiar, as directed by Lord Shiva. Tamizh is the sister language of the old Sanskrit. If can be keenly observed, the closeness of these two languages are explicit in their Alphabets, grammer, and dialects.
Rishies of the South India were known as Sidhdha Purushas -- great scientists who made lot of researches in the usage of herbs and minerals, which amongst them were (1) cutting huge granite rocks, and (2) lifting and transporting them to any distance and height. Till date, herbs are known to Sidhdha Vaithyars to liquify hard granite stones effortlessly without absorption or expulsion of any heat or any other energies. Likewise, certain herbal pastes were used as barricades by Sidhdhars to prevent the Earth’s Gravitational Force from acting on the material of the heavy Mass.
To explain this phenomenon:-- As per known science, any object (mass) would exert a Centrifugal force on any other object. Similarly, Earth’s Core exerts a Centrifugal Force (gravitational Pull) on any thing and every thing, depending upon the intermediate distance amongst them. Centrifugal Force is an energy form having ‘frequency, wave length and amplitude’, and it can attract only ‘opposite poles (positive over negative)’. So also, if Earth’s Gravity is Negative in nature, it can attract only the ‘Positive Proton’ in the Atom of any object under question. So if a ‘medium’ is brought in between the Gravitational Pull and the object (Mass), then that ‘Mass’ has ‘no weight aspect’ in it at all, and can be easily handled. This was the method in vogue through out the world to transport very heavy and huge objects, whether in the case of Egyptian Pyramids, statues in Easter Island, or in Brahadeeswarar Temple in Tanjavoor.
Thanjavoor Temple was constructed by the Architects of Raja Raja Cholan only as guided by the Sidhdhar known as Karuvoor Kizhar, as per Thamizh Agama Vidhies only. Most of the temples throughout India were constructed as per Vedha Agama Vidhies, and thus consecrated, and periodical Kumba Abhishegams are being performed. The science in the constructional difference between Vedha Agama and Tamizh Agama in Shiva Temples is detailed below:--
Temples as per Vedha Agama have (a) The tomb over the Garbha Graham which is relatively very small compared to the very tall peripheral Gopurams, (b) The single ‘Kalasam’ over the Garbha Graham has a pointed upright cone with a number of horizontal lotus shaped protruding edges, which all act as ‘energy receiving Antennas’. That Pancha Loka Kalasam is filled with ‘Nava Thanyangal (seeds of nine pulses))’. A continuous copper strip connects the Kalasam with the bottom of the deity in the Garbha Graham. Then connected by the same copper strip from that bottom of deity to the bottom of Nandhi, and then to Dhwajusthambam (Kodi Maram), and there after that upto the top Kalasams in the tall towers (in all the four temple boundaries). By this arrangement, ‘Energy’ is being absorbed from the ‘Ionosphere in the Cosmos’ and transmitted to the Deity. That Deity is charged ‘positively’. That is why Archagas in the temple Sanctum Sanctorum experience ‘Heat’ from the Deity. To reduce it, frequent Abhishegams are carried out, and that effluent Theertham is distributed to the devotees as Prasadham. In order to reduce that ‘heat energy’ further, the copper strip connection between the Deity and Nandhi, and then Nandhi to Dwajasthambham, and then to the top of tall temple towers help to dissipate back to the Cosmos. In many temples, a huge water tank (termed as Sthala Punya Theertham) is also provided in the South East Corner of that Temple Complex to cool down further heat, caused to the Main Deity. Hence, a ‘continuous Positive Energy Flow’ is experienced by the devotees, who feel relieved by temple worship. This is the main Moto in the construction of Temples according to Vedha Agama Vidhi.
Some temples constructed as per the guidance of Sidhdha Purusha Agamam in Tamil Nadu, such as Brahdeeswarar Temple in Thanjavoor, has a different arrangement. It has a huge and very tall Gopuram over Garbha Graham. It has a very big Kalasam with a pointed Cone, at the top of that tower, filled with Nava Thanyangal. The copper strip connection from the Tower top Kalasam, through the very huge Lingam, ended with an original small Nandhi (This very big Nandhi was installed in a later period by Nayakkar king). There is no Dhwajasthambham or metal strip connection with the small temple tower in the compound wall. So the ‘Energy Flow’ in this temple is reversed, and said to have ‘Negative Energy’, and thereby some ill effects (termed as ‘Chabham (curse)). This was well known to the Sidhdha Purushar, Karuvoor Kizhar, and tried to pacify Raja Raja Cholan to perform the rituals as per Tamizh Agama Vidhies, specially chalked out by Him. The Emperor did not pay any heed to it, and performed Kumbha Abhishegam and other rituals as per Vaidheega Agama Vidhies. That is why the great emperor faced many ill occurrences such as (i) he had to stay in the temple complex away from his palace till his end, (ii) the death of his son in the battle, (iii) his own death (it is construed to be a murder / accidental death) in the temple premises, and (iv) many famines in his kingdom.
Hence it is advisable to carry out the ensuing Kumbha Abhishegam according to Tamizh Agama Vidhies, and of course with the cooperation of Temple Sivacharyars.

Shame on govt,, why not taking steps to preserve and safeguard our heritage,, three years ago I heard about the theft of idiols from thanjore temple and being taken to Gujarat and Maharashtra.. Now the gopuram has been removed,, very disturbing and disappointed. We people have to take steps to safeguard temples of TN for our future generations.

They best way to solve this on my opinion is, many inscriptions had been inscribed in the temple, which say about the people who worked, helped and the donations that they gave et.. it is also said in the inscriptions that how the poja work is to be done, so it's better we follow the inscriptions.😀😀😀
