Hi, I found your explanation very useful. However, I just moved to Canada under marriage sponsorship visa for 6 months now. Can I move to another city to work or is it against the law to move to another city than the city that is on my document? I would like to hear yr legal expertise

Hi there, once you become a PR of Canada through the spousal sponsorship category, if you and your partner wish to move cities or one of you wishes to move, you are entitled to do so.

My boyfriend and I we're friends for 3 years and we're getting still to know each other more and we're now going into a relationship this year he's in Canada I live in the US I am disabled but I do work self employment versus part-time work because it's hard to get jobs anywhere because I require a service animal I do what's the house to my family and I'm on disability as well outside of working self employment and are concern is is it more affordable for us to just go and get married and me sponsor him here in the US or if we wanted to move over to Canada would it be possible for him to sponsor me even though I am disabled on disability and self-employed and that's concerned we have because I do have a service animal and financially I know that I would have a reduced in my financial assistance if I did get married here in the US so we are just looking at all options right now.

Hi Harpreet, thank you for your question. If your partner wishes to sponsor you, you and her have to either get married or be common law partners (having lived together for at least one year continuously).
