Yeah I know hard to believe in this time where e46 M3’s are being bought at premium prices but I was able to scoop this cause you know I love me a BIG risk cause in every risk their is a REWARD… sometimes… this 1 came out positive though so I have no complaints. I paid $5000 for mind and it just needed a clutch and some brake pads … I put some new tires and had it professionally detailed and buffed and sold it for $ 18,000 during the pandemic

You did good on this. I have 05 e46 M3. Just know that you are looking at about 15k up hill for the big 3. I actually prefer the SMG. Most people who diss the SMG have never driven it.
Thanks 🙏🏾 the M3 Subframe is reinforced i checked and the Vanos is working how it should no codes at all, only thing I got left to do is the Rod Bearings cause even though car runs and drives nice I’m going to do them just for the peace of mind ✅
@@truuubmwget a compression test done. If the head gasket hasn't been changed, I'd bet you have low compression on 5 and 6. You may even hear it pinking between 2.5k and 3k under heavy load
It’s runs and drives how it’s supposed to, I don’t hear anything I shouldn’t be hearing already checked all major stuff that goes wrong on these engines. I got really lucky considering my purchase price ✅
@truuubmw mine ran fine. The sound of pinking was insanely hard to produce. It's quiet and only does it in very certain driving conditions. For the cost of a gauge and half hours work, it's well worth doing the test.

You always gonna sell it😑 but SMG isn’t the greatest I think the subframe is not as big as a worry on this car vs the ZHP and below
Don’t take my word for it though completely
SMG can be very fun. Unfortunately E46 M3 also is known for subframe issues and reinforcement is highly recommended.
