Leave Luanne
35mm: A Musical Exhibition
Bro thanks so much for the lyrics! Now everyone can know how amazing the song is! It was very well done 👍
When Luanne leaves but there's still half a song left
0.0
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
That hit me so hard the first time I heard it I was like "Yes! She got out!" Then he was there and it hurt so much it was surprised Pikachu face but with real surprise ;-; that fiddle had me fooled
BRUH IKR I JUST KNEW IT WAS GONNA FAIL DHSJDH
I love how the lyric "Loyal Luanne remains"
Goes from pitiful and sad
to HOLY SHIT THE CHRISTIAN WOMAN IS MAD
Prime example of why you don't make a Southern Christian woman pissed at you, never ends well for the man.
In the same vein "Someone's howling... in a fate worse than death" goes from Luanne screaming as she is being abused to her husband screaming as he is dragged into hell
I can just imagine her at the edge of the lake desperately scrambling away from him, sobbing and close to screaming and her just jumping into the water desperately trying to push the breath out of her own body so she can finally be free no matter what.
The fact that Luanne drags him to hell and at the end of the song, "God loves Luanne!" Shows you that both God and the Morningstar dispise domestic abusers, in a way. That's just how I interpreted it.
I like the idea of both side agree that unforgettable but I think that luanne is angel .
Every time I listen to this song I start crying and then I get the chills and then I become more neutral. This is such an emotional roller coaster
I think if Luanne didn't say that the dog got out and just left, then maybe since her husband was asleep, she wouldn't have been caught. But she wasn't exactly in the right head space to make more logical decisions since she was acting on her flight response, so she did what she felt was the right thing to do.
I feel bad for Luanne even though this is just a song.
I like the last part of the song. Y’know, after the ghost of Luanne shows her chained feet. It sounds so upbeat.
You mean when loyal Luanne remain and remains _and remains_ *and remains?*
When Luanne escapes: 🌝
But it's only half of the song: 🌚
(My Favourite Parts)
1:30 - 1:56 (You won't never leave, Luanne.)
2:52 - 3:09 (She runs out to the bog.)
3:43 - 4:14 - (Swim Luanne!)
5:37 - 6:22 (The man sees dead Luanne.)
6:23 - 6:31 (Loyal Luanne... Remains and remains and remains and remains!)
6:48 - 7:14 (She brings their souls down to Hell.)
7:14 - 7:23 (Praise be, Amen.)
Making a halloween costume based on this song, so excited!
ooh how was it?
@@user-rh7nd5xv7y eeeeeh a bit too last minute but still fun to try
I love how the first part of the part that’s like ‘in a faith worst then’ first it sounds pitiful as if Luanne has no power or control, then on the second time it repeats, it’s more power and loud, like she’s taking that power back
This song sounds more spooky on first listening but when you actually digest the lyrics it’s just a guy who abused his wife so he went to hell and if you ask me that’s that’s just consequences
Also, small detail you may have missed. (not lyric wise, as a fun fact)
When she "plucks the kitchen cleaver"
after a small pause it sounds like plucking a violin string.
Idk I played violin for 3rd grade and small amount of 4th. It sounds similar
Yeah it’s pizzicato
Lyrics:
Nah I'm just kidding lol
Ahahaha lol😂
Damn, I almost thought that she was somehow alive for a minute-
But I also thought she was gonna kill him so-
She kinda did, or at least dragged him down to hell lol
please can someone direct me to the bible verse that says 'stay in your abusive home and marriage because it can't get any worse.' because I don't remember it.
Well it doesn’t exactly say that, however it does say divorce is a sin.
She stayed because she knew he would kill her at some point when she left
It’s a little confusing, but from the lyric explanation I found online
“Luanne believes that if she confesses that her husband is abusive, not only will she not get the help she needs, but she will also make the situation even worse.”
I think what they’re trying to say is that there is a Bible verse saying that her situation wouldn’t get worse if she confessed but she’s not gonna take that chance. At least that’s how I interpreted it lol
idk if it says it but don't christians/catholics believe god doesn't give you more than you can take? it might be in reference to that.
@@loveydoveydoll4 ok i don't mean to offend anybody but that's kind of stupid honestly
Yes! Thank you so much for the lyrics!
Great lyric video,well done!
I wanna do a cover of this. Should I?
Yes! I reccomend looking up katie thompsons version, she has a really nice take on the character
@@ImNotOdd I will! Thank you for the advice!!
Go for it!
Totally!
Yyyeeeeeessssss!!!!!!!
my heart ...is aching ..omg i need to find this play
Sadly there isn’t a full play this is the 35mm musical showcase so you can watch the whole showcase but not a leave Luanne musical by itself. 😢
To be honest I'm thinking Luanne is a slave, for example, it's in the south, she runs away to the bog and beyond instead of running toward a city or calling someone. Another thing is, The chains, either represent her slavery or she is stiuk there, she said she had a "debt to settle". Could this be like she still has to serve I'm? and the fact that no one mourned her. But idk it's just a theory
I dont really think so,in the last parts the lyrics went 'half sad his wife is dead' so its his wife and i dont really think the chains means that she is tied to him cause she is loyal luanne and she will never leave him like what the song says and for the running to the bog thing maybe its that the only way was there and if she called out the bastard wouldve gotten to her and dragged her back so yeah
@@felyciaed266 that makes more sense than mine lol
I can’t find a version without the main anger anywhere:(
I’m not sure if the is what you’re looking for but here’s a really good cover of this song ruclips.net/video/ic_fmv0pnWg/видео.html
@@neleus4503 oh I meant singer, it must’ve auto corrected
Who “beat you” there.
@Kaaa D yea! Interpreted it as the water itself personified, and her husband (??)
It's in an uncomfortable range for me but fuck it, I love this song and when the chance comes (aka when no one's home lmao) I'ma sing this with all my heart
Relatable
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I feel like luanne would have had better chances, if she didn't wake him
Ok this might just be a me thing but I swear to god I watched this exact video a month ago and I remember the ending differently. I SWEAR she got caught on a branch and thought it was him and then she died of fear. Does anyone else remember this?? Bc I feel like I’m going crazy
*swamp of beeches (leeches)
*she cries her miserable knell (wail)
Thanks, I´m just search for the lyrics of this song
Is it just me or does anyone else imagine Maddie Buckley while listening to this
YES
Sangwoo and yoonbum vibes
now that's just mean, funny but mean
Oh that’s… that’s something alright
