Hi Maul... my knees are getting a lot stronger doing the drills. I'm wondering if you have a drill for the hands and wrists? I saw the exercise you did with a staff... and then showed it's application. Believe it was at a German seminar. It would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know of any others if you had time. Didn't expect results so fast and I do the drill everywhere.... quite embarrassing for the wife and kids 😳🤣 Thank you for all the help 🙏
how long have you been training, i learned silat many years ago and still practice but you make it look so... well... beautiful, how can i get to that level after all this time, it seems like flowing... which i know is the whole thing, but how can i practice that better?
He been training since childhood. He was a naughty kid, always got himself in some trouble til his grandpa wanted to teach him silat as an outlet to his strange hyperactive behaviour.
Why is the opponent just standing there half the time? Like so much so he has time to "Jim look" the camera several times. He has ample opportunity to disengage, throw additional strikes to get back into range etc. But he stands there with his arm out and his body in the worst possible position. Then there is the mechanics of the knife wielding, so much wasted movement, so many slashes when a stab is much more pratical.
The opponent just standing there for educational demonstration, it's for skill learning progression. Same thing when baby was born, they don't just get up and start talking and running. Even MMA's fighters has to learn skills by progression, they don't just get in the ring and start punching and kicking. If you watch more of his video, you would know that all extra punches, kicks, slashes and stab are just for prolonging the exercises. We knew if in real life the best skill in Martial arts are running from fight 1st. So if your enemy catch you after you trying to run, all the extra punches, kicks, slashes and stab may come useful.
@@latapekassim5104 First, the guy in the video isn't claiming to be an amateur. He is claiming to be a professional showing a skill. This skill is not being used in anything resembling real life. If someone is enough of a physical threat I'm worried I can't fight them they sure as hell can run me down. @UCvmW6GfTPM6l5sJuWuwF3tg that is absurd, you know what im saying, im not diminishing from the art, may it be silat or kali, the strikes are clever, but we need to integrate realism, otherwise, it worth nothing.... if you have a partner that moves once, than your turn to do 3 moves, then they strike second time, and you also do another 3 moves, this is simply unrealistic, at least if you wanna practice slowly you need to let the opponent do an action each times you do one, and even then, you need at some point do sparring, put on eye protections, helmets whatever and use pens, but you need real time speed at the end
