- (Admittedly this is just an expanded version of the US Promo Scene, but it functions as the opening of the story) Major Oliver is returning to the USS Carl Vinson after training Marines aboard the USS Tarawa. He is lucky enough to be able to get a call to his wife, before the entire world changes...
The writing and voice acting set quite the mood. That scene with the Tarawa... shivers.
...How has this not popped up in my feed before? This is awesome!
Well I'm glad you like it dude! :D
The algorithm has blessed me with a gem of a channel. Great work! I can't wait to watch the whole series.
Sometimes that algorithm works in my favour! lol, glad you enjoyed it, much more to come! :D
Great work, how these don’t have more views, I don’t know. Keep it up!
Thanks so much Peter!! Maybe I need to be nicer to the God Emperor Algorithm? hehe.
Your trailer popped up in my feed. Your channel is finally about to blow up!
Hey dude, well I can only hope :) Thanks heaps for the sub!! :D
holy hell, was not expecting to stumble across such an awesome show today. This looks and feels incredible.
Thanks so much man!! Glad you're enjoying the episodes, Episode 8 is in the works. 😀
As someone else said, this gives me major Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles vibes. Compelling work!
Indeed! That was a good show! :D With each episode I hope to slightly up the quality a little. :) This particular episode was made in 2017-2018.
@TheWarAtHome So far I'm on episode 5. This is really well done.
@@TheWarAtHome Also, as a DC area native, watching Pennsylvania Avenue disappear in atomic fire hits pretty hard, but it was (and still is, sadly) a real fear.
@nilsniemeier5345 yeah I can imagine. If it's any conciliation I'm an Auckland native and that place is gonna get wasted. @@nilsniemeier5345
OMG just found this. Super great work
Thanks so much Damien! Really hope you enjoy the rest of the series! :D
Wow! I'm glad I found this!! Excellent work.
I like this alternate history in the 1980ies. Brings back memories of the old pen and paper RPG Twilight 2000!
Thanks Valokaari! :D really hope you enjoy the series, a lot more on the horizon :D :D :D
So glad the algorithm has brought me here.
Me too, judging by your thumb I'd say your pretty good at staying on target as well! :)
@@TheWarAtHome always 🎯
Holy fuck where has this been hiding? This popped up in my reccomendation, thinking it'd be one of those simple animations but now it's got me hooked.
Also, might just be me but the animation texture-wise reminds me of Roughnecks almost. And that score at the end, wtf was that?! If someone were to play that track and told me it's not from big budget hollywod motion picture, I would never believe him. That sounded nothing at all like indie studio stuff.
This is some great shit, I'm all in. Liked, subscribed, set the bell on all.
Thanks so much man! Would love to hear your thoughts after you get through Ep9? :)
Spectacular, did Tom Clancy write this?
Good to see Bob Hawke right at the end there. This looks amazing.
Lots of passion behind this project! Great job!
Thanks John, truly something I enjoy doing.
Great first Ep Lew!
This is going to be one of your best pieces of work!
Thanks Hazen!! :D
Just found this on a break from work . Can't wait to get home and watch the rest .
These are so awesome!!!
What a great pilot episode!
Thanks so much! :D
This video is fantastic! Well done to all who participated!!!! And when can we get more?????
Hi Anton, so glad you're enjoying the series!! So far I'm up to Episode 7, but it should only be a few weeks before I can release Episode 8, I'm working on it almost 24/7, sadly animated can be very very slow. And I'm a bit of a 1-man band haha. Anyways, Ep8 shouldn't be too far away! Thanks for the kind words! :D
Bro, you need to make those into a feature length film!
This is beyond impressive! My friend Alex Aaronson wrote a series about this very same thing! However its in 1980. Its called "Advance to contact."
Thanks so much Spencer! The Soviet Endgame series looks amazing, definitely need to read or audiobook them. I love the Monroe Doctrine series as well. I am more partial to historical settings of course ;)
@@TheWarAtHome I hope you give it a chance. Spencer sent me to your channel, and I'm just blown away! I mess around with video to stay in touch with readers, so I know how much work goes into this. You've really created something awesome and unique here!
@@alexaaronson876 thank you so much! :D Yes dead keen to check out Soviet Endgame, it's right up my alley, being alternate history and cold war, it's literally my next read! :D With the first episode you've just watched, that was done some years ago, so if you watch up to the latest episode which at the moment is Episode 7 you'll noticed the quality (modelling, animation) does get a little better.
Gripping, Im gonna binge watch the whole thing!
Yay!! Thanks so much Kiwi! Hope you enjoy it! :)
where have this gem been hiding
Behind algorithms? Lol glad you found me!
Oh shit … Not 4 min in and the First Nuke … so cool
Thanks man :) yeah kinda sets the tone that this war is probably going to dance on the line between conventional and .... unconventional.
Hol' up, you got musical inspiration from somewhere. Can't put my finger on it, but a game a believe it was. Sounds eerily similar. Love it all the same.
Also, just realised, this was also when the TSar Bomba was actually not only in production, but active for use. Of course Russia is gonna start nuking, they've got more powerful shit if the US retaliates with Nukes. Totally forgot about that.
Also, just reading up on the Russian weaponry. Holy shit, they literally had Torpedoes WITH nuclear warheads. You've done quite a fair amount of military research it seems.
There was a lot of inspiration from The Sum of All Fears soundtrack, which I put as the temp track to our composer Chris Hurn, who based his soundtrack on that? The nuclear bomb in Washington is a low-yield warhead in the back of a van. And the torpedo is a VA-111 Shkval carrying a nuclear warhead.
@@TheWarAtHome Knew I had heard similar somewhere, fits the show really well though! Definitely hope to hear more.
And damn, just as I thought, you really DID put a lot of thought into this! Really excited for episode 3, especially because it's all just getting started!
@@MCshadr217 certainly is! a helluva lot more to come! :D - hopefully won't be too long to get these episodes out!
Le seul problème est la traduction automatique en français des expressions qui est défaillante...
Yeah I would imagine google translate isn't the best, especially for coloqual expressions and inflections. Potentially at some point in the future maybe I can figure out proper transcriptions, might be a far way off at the moment.
I'm ex RNZAF and RAAF Reserve. This is excellent please tell me you are still producing it
He is he's working on the next episode last I checked.
Sorry for the late reply I only discovered the 'youtube studio' which has a comments tab so I'm belated catching up with all these.
Yes still going, I've literally got nothing else I enjoy doing haha.
While the CGI looks dated (kinda reminds me of Real Adventures of Johnny Quest and Acceleracers), the story is unique. I wonder why I discovered this series only now. The algorithm works at times. Often not.
Yeah definitely dated! lol, I often joke I'm moving up from PS2 slowly to Gamecube level.
Surface Warfare officers don't command USN carriers.
I know lol, luckily was one of the things I did fix up in ep3
Aaaaaaaahhhhh mazing!!!!
Cheers Johnny! :D
