I think a bad leader can only turn into that once he or she allows the title to get to their heads.. Other then that. A bad leader is someone who gave u the title without earning it.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, I agree, that this can be one reason. In my experience, I have also seen leaders who became "bad leaders" because they did not have any good role models. They adopted the leadership styles they observed in their industry, and never learned to be self reflective, use emotional intelligence and invest in these relationships. And often they themselves did not grow in a psychological safe environment, so never learned to be vulnerable and show their weaknesses also.
Thank you for the feedback. And I am sorry you had to experience these bad leaders. They can really create a lot of damage. Hope you're now in a good culture with a great boss.
@@annekoopmann That would be great because there is fear about being let go by taking a stand. Last week, in a fit of anger I gave him a very serious look and told him to treat me like a professional. He backed off and behaved himself for the rest of the week except for one quick sniping comment. Hope that ends it all but not holding my breath.
Loving your videos. Suggestion - It would be great if some of the key word you mention pop up on the screen, so that it helps to gauge the gist of what you are saying.

Great to have you here :)
You totally described my 'manager'.
That must feel quite challenging. Have you found strategies to work with them?
@@annekoopmann I'm looking for answers, which is why I watched this video.
I hope you found a few ideas. I might create a video soon with strategies on how to deal with bad leaders.@@a.d.b535

I would love to know - have you had any bad leaders in the past?
I knew few people having these traits.. So now I know how not to be like :)
Always good to reflect on how we don’t want to be 😆
