    In the situation you were in, I wouldn’t have called to them at all until they flew down. But in other situations, I have had no problem calling to a turkey on the roost, not when it is pitch black. Then again, I can think of a couple of times when one was gobbling very early that made a soft yelp, which brought him down too early, and I missed him.
