Dude please do a comparison of all 3 pickups. Really dig you amps and tone. So many bad videos of these pickups. Trying to make up my mind on which one to get.
Forget the pick ups I want the guitar head. I don’t know why Ampeg got out of the heavy metal range. Is that the 140 with chorus. I had the 150 without chorus back in the 90s. Loved it.
Great demo . Blackouts are the best love em they really great for low tuning and great note clarity good highs for leads love mines I own ahb3 mick thomson and it's I think the best more for tight low tune stuff awesome heavy mean sob jackson I got chk my stuff
Thank you for this awesome comparison, I've been on the fence for these 2 pickups. Quick questions; how's the tuning stability with those kahlers and do you heavy divebomb with them or do any whammy tricks or do you just keep it as a hard tail?
BearAmps Oh ok cool! I used to have the original one, and I always thought they sounded pretty rad for active pickups. Thst makes sense it looks so fresh lol dunable does good work
I liked everything in this comparison. The Ironbird sounded brighter. Do you think that it is the difference between pickups 1 and 2 or the reason could be the lighter strings?
ive a couple original decimators, a cheap clone of one and an ns2 but its not worth hooking stuff up just to make a quick clip like this. also since its all amp gain id have to pop it in the loop. whats better is to hookup the channel switch and kick it to the clean channel when not playing, but im too lazy for that too lol!
Both sound fucking lethal
Old school Mockingbird with a Kahler. Nice.
Edit: also an Ampeg guitar amp? I appreciate the taste in less commonly used gear.
Came fore the pickups, stayed for the ironbird
That AHB 2 is killer!! Wood sound great drop tuning
Bcrich, Kahler, active humbucker and Metal !!! Cheers from Morocco

Love both of your birds! There’s an ampeg vh140c combo around my area. And I’m looking at all these videos of yours ha thanks
No one gonna say how sick that amp sounds, dream amp right there
The AH2B is a monster! Wow! I'm impressed! Great demo.
I think that they discontinued it.

Yep stereo 140 with chorus. I got a couple 150 vids on my channel too. I've had bunches of them, one of my favorite things in the world haha
That's sick, Bear! Gorgeous Rich!
Thanks brother!

I'm sure the different woods/shapes made a difference but the metal sounds way chunkier. Wonder how it would compare to the original 18v version.
Probably very close. Using a more efficient differential amplifier circuit will yeild the same headroom as the old 18v live wires
I’m in love with both of those guitars
wow thanks alot sir! I really prefer the 2nd version! Sound thicker without honk! Cheers!

I need both of them!
That ironbird is GORGEOUS! havent seen such a nice one. Is the newer blackout in the Mockingbird hotter or is the magnet the only difference?
Candy by Cameo it's a bit hotter and a touch more midrange for sure! Thx man! It's a refinished '85 u series, done by dunable guitars!
BearAmps Oh ok cool! I used to have the original one, and I always thought they sounded pretty rad for active pickups. Thst makes sense it looks so fresh lol dunable does good work
Candy by Cameo at first I wanted to trade the 2b for an original but now I'm not sure haha. I really like them both
BearAmps honestly I know its just camera audio but I think the 2b sounds killer. I think generally the alnico magnets sound more focused
Is that the one that belonged to Terrorizer's guitarist?
I liked everything in this comparison. The Ironbird sounded brighter. Do you think that it is the difference between pickups 1 and 2 or the reason could be the lighter strings?
Probably a bit of both, also there's stainless frets on the ironbird so that definitely brighten things up
Great! Nice job, man!!!👍🏻
That bc rich is a monster
Your sound is excellent !!! This Ampeg is very good !! Difficult to find this ?
You rock man! Better than Slash.
SWEEEEET!
Sell me that Ironbird!!!
Is the amp running in mono or stereo?
I always run these in stereo, 8ohm per side. That's why I really like these old 1960b with the stereo mono switch!
@@BearAmps thanks man! :)
Dayummmm shun!
The AHB 2 got more sustain than the original
To be fair the action on the ironbird was hella low too
You should try a decimator2 in front of your amp to clean up the hiss. I have a vh140C and love it. I too have a ahb2 installed in my guitar.

no because that won’t show how noisy or quiet the pickups are
Hi, how many mm are from the bridge to the pickup in your mockingbird? Pretty fucking killer pickup :)
Probably around 5mm. I don't go real close
Stop scratching!! Lol
