The music is amazing I agree there but this episode just looked so weird to me even more than sun and moon and it just doesnt make me excited if anything it turns me away, maybe I,m just a bit burned out from sun and moon and the new style has to grow on me, I will give it a few more episodes but if this feeling stays this might be the first pokemon series that I will skip

First of all, this was a REALLY good episode and I loved every minute of it! Go is... he’s just the best. I love everything about him.
Also, the reason Sakuragi and Go were so shocked because apparently Ash heard Lugia’s voice as they enter the water.
I love how Koharu is trying to distance herself from Ash and Go's goofiness. Girl you are stuck with them for atleast an entire season, dont fight it just embrace it
Well she just felt awkward since she knows her yamper did that to ash and doesn't know how to apologize to him. Thus she acts like that towards him.

I really like Ash and Go's dynamic in the anime. I literally cannot get enough of the soundtrack of this episode! Go is one of my top five favorite Pokémon anime characters now lol. Have a good day/night!

I like the idea of exploring multiple regions. But I kinda hope they spend more time in Galar in like a season 2. I wouldn't mind if season 1 was all exploration cuz that would be fun.

pretty sure this happened in some of the movies (correct me if I'm wrong). He can hear legendary voices.

The anime is just representation of how long competitive battles last in SW and SH
These 2 first episodes have really gotten me invested in this series. I've really enjoyed it so far
Sun and moon is the comedic one yet this anime does comedy so much better since it isn't forced. I do like sun and moon but this series is just done better in my opinion.

Unlike other amourshippers, I just wait for confirmation from the creators of the Pokemon anime of making amourshipping a canon. I would like to have other characters to return besides Serena. We did seen Brock and Misty in the previous Pokemon series. Now I would like to see Gary, Tracy, May, Max, Dawn, Cilan, Iris, Clemont , Bonnie, Lillie, Lana, Mallow, Kiawe, Gladion, and Sophocles to return. Maybe all of Ash's other rivals and all of the past Champions that appeared in the anime.

Just a point I want to say with the whole raid battles debate at the end of the episode, I believe that it was just used as a way to catch new viewers eyes, along with drawing in the attention of older generations of people who have stuck with the anime since the beginning, or have been here for a very long time. I know you may not see this, but I just want my viewpoint out here in order to change or alter people's impressions on it so. So basically, I really enjoyed the raid battle type style because Luigia is a legendary Pokemon, and as seen in the ep, many trainers are battling it out in order to catch Luiga. This is a reason for that raid battle style because why would individual trainers be going up against one strong af pokemon, so I feel like it's sort of makes sense for several passionate trainers battling it out for a legendary pokemon. Lastly, I believe that this style will not continue for that long since it's just for drawing in attention and hyping up the anime. Hopefully some people read this and take it into account, along with commenting on what anyone believes.
Kukui is still my best professor in the pokemon anime.
When I first watched this episode, I didn't understand everything because I had no subtitles but now I like this episode even more (sorry for my bad english )

This anime looks adorable
Everyone's special so no matter how average of a pokemon professor character sakuragi is he is special.
This new anime season has honestly one of THE best starter episodes in the entire pokemon anime series. It could even compete with the likes of other pokemon anime season starter episodes like what Indigo Leage, Advance Generation, Diamond and Pearl and XY/XYZ did in their starter episodes that it makes me wanna see more of the whole adventure

Rant Radio Well I honestly doubt it as of this Gen. This anime is doing its own thing right now then will follow the whole gym badge/league tradition in the second year possibly. I personally think Gen 8 is possibly setting a stage for a possible ending arc coming for Ash and Finish up in Gen 9.
I think after Gen 9 the Pokémon company with will start fresh entirely with a new series with new characters. Or keep the story and just possibly follow the Boruto DBGT kinda of route where will follow up on Ash kid journeys.

Tbf, we're not even sure he's going to Galar any time soon, so yeah, I could see the stage being set for Ash' departure from the series, but then that also means doing away with their mascot pikachu, unless they go for Eevee next time around... Everyone likes Eevee

For some reason im kinda mad about koharu not getting nearly as much screentime as satoshi and gō (shouldve let her tag along on lugias back), but i guess it makes sense, since that moment really was for establishing satoshi’s and gō’s relationship.
Apart from that, no complaints (i mean i guess professor was kinda bland but whatever). I give this episode an 8/10.
I couldn't agree more and yes I also want to see more of Koharu! But I honestly just love how they displayed the relationship between ash and go especially with using lugia in such a clever way ^^

@maltese 84 I don't know either, but someone in that episode explicitly said: "It's a raid battle!" upon seeing Lugia, trying to fight him, clearly referencing Pokémon Go.
I feel like its a reference to SW/SH where they have max raid battles and not to Pokémon Go
Raid battles are likely trainers working with each other to try to capture harder pokemon to catch, and the person that does the finishing blow gets the pokemon, so the are working and competing with each other to achieve a goal that is generally difficult to accomplish by themself.

Kukui was basically Ash's dad, teacher and the previous best trainer of the region before Ash beat him, they know they can't top that so they just made the new professor generic until the next gen when they have time to think of something. And who knows, Professor Sonia might show up when they visit Galar eventually.
He bought his Champion trophy to Pallet Town and put it on his shelf and he's got a freakin' DORM room and is studying pokemon all over the world and they want me to believe that this guy is still 10 years old 😂

The episode was really good and I like the friendship of Ash and Go very friendly and competitive. Both of them love Pokemon and they are also highly determined. The moments between them were great plus magical I think the two becoming friends so quickly was like magic.
A beautiful mix between both controversial series(XY and S&M) in a way everyone could love it without it going as far being 99% horrid jokes aka. TTG

Pikachu seems to have more personality in the series than any other series. This was mainly seen in the first scene when he tries to wake up Ash.

@@ElectroBlastLuigi Yeah he had some character in SM but they were mostly for comedic purposes. Don't get me wrong I really liked SM. But there were also times you feel like he is not there. But in this one episode we are constantly reminded that he is there and the reminder was done in clever ways.
