Making jelly with all my peppers this weekend. Made Reaper jelly yesterday and today is Ghost and Lemon Drop. Be careful giving that stuff out. People be coming back like crackheads looking for more when it's gone.
Im really glad you let everyone know seeds aren't hot and that the heat really resides in the placenta of a pepper 👍 and mannn i loved that Gordon Ramsay clip 😄
I make mango chutney and ginger orange pepper jam I've never had Strawberry pepper jam, I can't wait to make this! My mouth literally starting watering.
Hi there i have a recipe i call it pepper cake i absolutely love it! Ingredients Self raising flour Butter Caster sugar Eggs 3 Vanilla paste Baking powder Milk 11.5 grams of pepper powder (For you i think cgn x kslsb powder would be cool!) Steps: Preheat oven at 375 F, Line and butter cake pans with parchment paper, Cream sugar and butter until light and creamy, one at a time add the eggs with vanilla paste mix until combined, Here add pepper powder of your choice ( I'd use your cgn x kslsb ) Then you add the baking powder and flour, Get a spoon and mix or fold the flour into your mixture, Finally you should add the milk and mix it until properly mixed with batter. Now put into oven for 25-30 minuets, Once removed from the oven be sure to enjoy! (I know the idea sounds very weird but trust me its delicious!)
id love to see a pepper jelly video. Pepper jelly is one thing i wanna make with my peppers. I have Hungarian Wax, Cayenne, Jalapeno, and Ghost peppers growing,Wax and Ghost closest to being ripe. got some nice green jalapenos, i just sampled one a moment ago, but im letting everything go red and fully ripe and developed i think. I feel everything store bought is picked early for quick turn around and we dont get to fully experience the plants. I grew the thickest Cukes ive ever seen too! First year grower. I need to get videos up and document the journey more. i got pictures but id sure like some videos. yours are awesome btw.
This is, by far!, my favorite jam video and recipe. So easy to adapt and customize. AND it really does taste great! Addictive!! So make more than one jar! 😂🍓🫙🍓
I've done this with habanero, not everyone will like it because habanero heat isn't approachable for everyone, but I feel like the fruitiness of Habaneros is unrivaled.
It should be good for at least a month in the fridge without canning - the low pH and sugar content help preserve! Just check for funky smells or mold before eating
I would really like to see a video of just pepper jelly. That's what I've been wanting to make. I enjoy sweet and spicy but for me I'd rather have a more spice dominant snack or use it as a spread on burgers, steak, chicken, and porkchops. Also my peppers are dried. Would they still work for jam/jelly?
As a newbie to growing peppers; THANK YOU. Really enjoy your content and have found several tips useful. QUESTION: when harvesting I cut the stems close to the plant, I then pull the pepper from the stem. When I put the stems in the dirt around the plant I seem to get a faster larger next yield. ? Is there some chemical in the stem which signals the plant to produce more when reintroduced to the soil?
Not yet, but I imagine it would definitely impart some good flavors. I think some scotch bonnets would work really well, and even with other fruits or marmalade
I've only made jam with pectin. I was curious on how you did yours. I'll definitely have to try it without pectin. A video on just pepper jam would inspire people to do the same.
He didn't make jam. He made a thick fruit sauce. It looks similar but is not. The thickness just comes from him boiling it down to very little liquid. It is like condescending down a tomato pasta sauce to make it thick. But, he clearly doesn't really know what he is talking about. I mean..... he just broke the Mason Jar simply because he didn't bother to WARM UP the jar first before putting in the hot sauce!! So, find your jam making ideas and recipes elsewhere. These nimrods don't even understand that they are growing nothing but hybrids because the refuse to properly separate the peppers to a distance apart that would actually keep them from cross pollinating!!
I haven't tried your recipe yet, but I just made a larger batch of Strawberry Jalapeno Jam and am so disappointed that it's not even the tiniest bit hot. I used 4 cups of fresh crushed strawberries and 5 good sized jalapenos. Wondering if you have a recipe for a strawberry jam with chipolte? Bet the smokey heat would be great.
I have a few questions. Does this jam work well in situations where you would use regular strawberry jam, such as sandwiches or on ice cream? Or is it more suited as a compliment to savouries? How much does the jalapeno change the overall flavour of the jam? If so, are there alternatives that wouldn't affect it as much? Maybe red pepper flakes? Thanks for the video!
I’m sucker for strawberry jam any tips on how to tell if a grocery store jalapeño has any kick or not. I get them sometimes during the off season and there like eating a green pepper.
Your best bet would be a farmers market but they are typically seasonal. Sometimes you’ll have better luck at a speciality market, though they may be a bit pricier (somewhere like Whole Foods or Highland Park). If we’re buying them in the market we look for pods that aren’t huge and have a bit of corking.
If I wanted to can it is there anything I should do different? Like maybe not cook the strawberries to 220 because they will cook again whole canning. I don't want it to be to thick.
HELP!! Made this yesterday turned out freaking delicious. However it turned out very thick and kind of rubbery. Only thing I changed was I added one habanero along with the jalapeno. Why did it get so thick and rubbery?
Awfully sweet. Jalapeños go really well with cranberries. Actually I prefer Serranos. Beautiful flavor. Strawberries are lovely too. I miss those warm summer evenings after picking strawberries all morning. Strawberries and cream were a delight.
Finally found this recipe here on the amounts to use to make 1 jar!!! Thank you so much!!!

Haha he would have been ripping me apart if he were there
@@PepperGeek no doubt about that my friend. He would have definitely called you a doughnut 😄
Oh I love strawberry and must give this a try. Thanks
Simple quick. Love it. Thanks gang.
Awesome, sounds delicious
Love it! I'm going to make this and try it on a home cooked burger!!
I will for sure be doing this. Thank you.
Great! No problem
I make mango chutney and ginger orange pepper jam I've never had Strawberry pepper jam, I can't wait to make this! My mouth literally starting watering.
Can you please share the recipe for the ginger orange pepper jam?
That is indeed a tasty combination. You could even add some balsamic vinegar for a bit of extra zing.
No
This looks great, will definitely try
Great! Hope you enjoy it
I’ve been wanting to make a spicy peanut butter. It’ll go great with this spicy jam recipe! Thanks fam!
Maybe finely ground pepper flakes mixed into organic peanut butter?
@@Mike-Eye yeah but it needs to be a really spicy pepper if you want the peanut butter to be spicy

Super good recipe, we already emptied a jar! Excellent combination with cheese (and ikea meatballs)
Whoa, that is a fantastic suggestion...next time we have some I'll try a dollop
I made a batch today and it is crazy good! I will double the recipe next time. 😋
Glad to hear it! Our batch is long gone 😆
It is mango season here so I just made some mango jalapeno jam using your recipe. Yum!

Damn, this on a pork roast sandwich with arugula and some melty gruyère... 🤤🤤🤤👍🏼
Never tried spicy jam but this does look mighty tasty!
That Gordon edit 😂

It is excellent with cream cheese and Ritz crackers.
I made this with Habaneros and the result was super tasty and super hot. Thanks !
Nice, maybe we'll try that next time. Wonder how a superspicy jam would be 😈
I've done this with habanero, not everyone will like it because habanero heat isn't approachable for everyone, but I feel like the fruitiness of Habaneros is unrivaled.
Definitely! They’re so great in sweet sauces
Making this as we speak! How long does this refrigerator recipe last? (I’m not going to pressure can it)
thank you!

Awesome
Chilli jam? This calls for Jamie Oliver’s famous “chilli jam” fried rice with it 🤣
My grandmother has been making hot pepper jelly for years

That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing. Have ya ever tried using habanero or ghost peppers? Other kinds of fruits?

This makes an amazing condiment for me. Especially porks. Try brushing it on cooked bacon then drying it in the oven.
Great tip, hadn’t thought of meats but definitely would be good on pork
That is a nice knife! Where did you purchase it? Good video!
Can you make this with Datil peppers instead of jalapeno?
Sure, I think datil peppers may be a bit hotter and a different flavor profile
can I use spleanda or stevia instead of regular sugar?
Yes, but you may need pectin - this recipe may help: thesugarfreediva.com/how-to-make-sugar-free-strawberry-jam/
THANK YOU FOR THE MILK PAD OVER THE EYE WITH HOT PEPPER IN!
Cracker, cream cheese on top then some of the spicy jam or jelly. It's good.

Yummy 😋
Did the freshly made jar break?
No, but good point. Definitely allow the hot jam to cool at room temp for an hour or more before refrigerating 👍
I think it sounds like it could be good in crepes.

Y’all should sell branded canning jars
☺️ It would be cool to see pepper geek on something..and it might come true soon (at least on a custom piece in our kitchen)
How would raspberries work? I have gallons of frozen berries.
I'm lazy. I just use store bought apricot preserves or orange marmalade and add my very finely chopped tabasco peppers in my Ninja Bullet.
HELP!! Made this yesterday turned out freaking delicious. However it turned out very thick and kind of rubbery. Only thing I changed was I added one habanero along with the jalapeno. Why did it get so thick and rubbery?
Try not cooking to 220°. Maybe 210 or 215
I leave the seeds in mine and they aren’t crunchy!
My jalapeño jelly did not jell.
I had only jalapeños and red Bell pepper in the recipe. Is there a way to save my jelly or is it just a waste. ?
Just Jalepenos don't have enough pectin to set. you need to add some.
Could you use honey instead of sugar?
I would like to see a pineapple and jalapeno jam or hot sauce
Can this recipe be processed?
How much pectin do you use?
None for this recipe - strawberries have natural pectin that helps the jam set
Is it from whataburger
Hope you enjoy this spicy jam recipe, I can't stop eating it. Check out our shop here: www.etsy.com/shop/PepperGeek
DO IT

Don't suppose you have a recipe with the jalapenos and cranberries?
Slap that on some wheat bread w\ Jif for me, please 😀
You got it 😆
Dude! That knife is wicked for such a tiny chop job. 🔪 🔪
Are the ribs really called the placenta???????????? If so pregnancy is change for me

Very good I disagree
