Lennox Lewis to me the greatest heavyweight of all time, this man had everything he was a master of the ring, I’ve never seen a fight where he slapped he always landed punches with his knuckles, for a man of his size he had it all, so glad I was around to watch all his televised fights, the man was the master 🥊🥊🥊
That's a big no! He had great reach with his jab and a glass jaw. He got knocked out by Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall. Earnie Shavers would have put him to sleep as well.
@@Gamevetglass jaw? So Tyson, Holyfield & Ruddock had pillow-hands, huh 🤡? Lewis lost to 2 men who he stupidly underestimated, because they were nowhere near his level so he didn’t take them seriously. The McCall rematch was just weird, but he showed the difference in the Rahman rematch, didn’t he?
I remember watching the fight vs Big John Tate as a v young lad on ITV world of Sport on a Saturday afternoon hosted by Dickie Davies. My old Granddad loved Boxing and we used to sit round every Saturday, then watch the Rugby League with Eddie Waring jabbering away.
39 is the new 29. Look at Fury, Usyk, AJ and Klitschko. All in the late 30s early 40s, still fighting strong and most importantly their mind still with them.
Always backed Lewis from early on in his career and was really surprised at how many of my friends in England disliked him at that time. They were all Tyson fans!
There's no doubt that Briggs was a fighter with a lot of heart, and I always thought Lewis often took too many chances in many of his fights. His defense could have been a lot better.
Lennox was a fantastic boxer and I have him in my top 5...with the Brown Bomber, Joe Louis as my #1 pick. Had the tax man left Joe alone...his record would have been 58 and 1...! He STILL has the longest continuous heavy weight title holder at darn near 12 years with 25 title defenses...22 by knockout.
This is pure BS. Weaver had been KOed 9 times NINE times before he fought Lewis. He looks like Lewis who starved for 2 months here. Pass... Lewis dodges Foreman, Bowe and anyone who can give him trouble ALL the time.

Definitely the best of his era and right up there at the top of the tree with the all time greats
I agree 💯

Maybe Ali is the greatest, but secretly its Lennox
When he said Lennox was carefully groomed by frank moloney it killed me 😂
More tea vicar?
This is a great channel keep up the good work 👊
I loved Lewis's ring generalship absolutely superb at being able to control the pace of a fight
Frank, these videos are great and your voice is absolutely golden. Need your voice on way more stuff.
Why Thank you buddy, always nice to see a positive post.
Mike weaver must have been a willing trainer. He always looked in great shape.
Lennon Lewis es el mejor boxeador de todos los tiempos el más técnico y defensivo
Why do you put a stupid ad in the middle
of the screen covering the knock out punch?
Lewis is probably the most complete heavyweight for me...
Nice to hear the voice of Reg Gutteridge too...🙏🇬🇧🥊❤️
Excellent episode

Back when 39 was considered ancient.

Reg and Harry were the voice of boxing in the UK, rest in peace fellas.
I absolutely love Lennox Lewis he is my favorite heavyweight of all time and look at how young he was an absolutely gorgeous😊😊😊
...were either going to prison or fading from the scene 😂
I wish I heard it before I saw your comment. But still funny
Love this channel. Great coverage of the best!

a good stepping stone fight for Lennox
Lennox Lewis was Hercules Mike Weaver was muscular but he was actually a small heavyweight.
Yeah he was probably bigger than most guys in the 70s. When he got the nickname. And the average HE was like 200lbs
HW no HE
All time great esp of his era.
Frank Monroe. He really sounds like what you'd expect a British boxing pundit to sound like ! Has he been on TV before ?
Thank you buddy. As for television work, just the odd appearance on Crime watch, but I’ll just stick to RUclips these days.

Weaver was way past it by then but always in great shape. At his best he gave Larry Holmes a good fight.
From a US perspective this fight was probably Lennox's entry into their sphere.
When Lewis doubled up his jab 😮😮💀
Lennox was the best🎉
Credit to Mike for going in there and taking his lumps.Lewis was on the way up, Weaver on the way out.
Lennox the 👑 king.
First thing this punk did was hold the head and hit in the very first seconds of the first round. Referees let him do it ALL THE TIME.
If that’s who you’ve been, who are you now?
If Weaver was born in 1951. How was he only 39 in 1992?
Boxing politics…. I hear Joe Louis was 137 years old when he fought Rocky Marciano. Or so my barber tell me 💈
Click sitting! Lewis never fought Hercules. I've checked in the Bible and there's no mention of it. Listen - you can't beat a Welshman . . .
No need for the comments from Frank munro whoever he is

Bowe ran a frickin’ mile, the pussy
Weaver 41 or 42 years old against lewis, lewis wins ( amazing lewis )
Holmes 38 against tyson, tyson wins ( holmes past it )
How strange
It’s what happens when you’re climbing the rankings. Always will be
Carefully groomed, meaning no dangerous fights...
