The euphoria in that room is bigger than Grammy this year. Congratulations, Ezra Collective. Congratulations, Jazz lovers. I just listened to the album and I really enjoyed it.
History has been made First Jazz group to win Mercury Prize I am so happy that UK Jazz music has now been recognised in the music scene Congratulations Ezra Collective well deserved
Love these guys, been rocking from day 1, seen and met them numerous times and they are brilliant, kind and positive and to this 46 year old a true example of young exceptional artists. Also love the fact that Joe is permanently as baked as a fresh baguette 😂😂
Good selection of bands and artists! Arctics! Raye! Ezra! Lankum! Young Fathers! Jockstrap! Good to see Ezra collective win! I enjoyed most of the evening. That Lankum ditty really made my night!
There is a verse in the HMHB song, ' They've got the whole world in their house' that goes 'They treat the mercury music prize with awe They treat the mercury music prize with awe they treat the mercury music prize with awe Well that's just jealousy on my part really..' When has somebody any good actually won this?
They are an amazing band dude, it's the first ever time a jazz band has ever won the mercury prize. They are sending waves through the music scene merging Afro beat, reggae and obviously jazz with some Latin spice in it. They are becoming the band to watch out for.
“It doesn’t involve healthy competition” only when anyone non-white is winning, yeah? Which means according to you it’s healthy competition only when the white person is winning or it’s just a bunch of white people competing against one another? Get over yourself.
Of all the nominees, Ezra's album was easily the most eclectic, talented and fresh. Easily. And I'm a big fan of the others. I know your username says it all, but if you don't think Ezra deserved this you either don't know the band or you're a dinosaur in severe need of fucking off. I'm guessing both...
Finally!!!! The UK jazz scene has been totally underrated for entirely too long. Super glad Ezra won

More than deserved 🎉 and I feel really moved by their joy, and particularly Femi's speech. Such great guys.
So lovely. Such great music created and played by such great musicians, with great big hearts. Couldn't be any better!

If he says ,,," you hear what I'm sayin. ". ONE MORE TIME I'm going to throw my laptop out the window.
Probably a good idea you do. Think you need to go outside, touch some grass.

What a surprise. Theres a definite theme developing iand it doesnt involve healthy competition.

Jessie Ware was robbed
Of a win for her last album. Not this one.
Didn’t she win best anodyne music award?
She not that great!
The worst choice 😵💫
Who would you have voted for?
The Mercury Prize. The most out of touch award cermony in the world. Absolute joke that this lot won. 🙄🤦🏻♂
Well yes, says the very average and mediocre guy 😂
Don’t worry mate we can’t all have taste you’ve just drawn the short straw
