Starting at Trafalgar Square, you’ll be surrounded by London’s grandest sights! After admiring Nelson’s Column, those iconic lions, and the fountains, make your way down Whitehall, which is packed with important buildings. You’ll pass Downing Street, where the Prime Minister lives, and the grand Horse Guards Parade.
Approaching Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament Keep heading down Whitehall, and before long, Big Ben will come into view - you can’t miss its famous clock face! The Houses of Parliament are right next to it, with their beautiful Gothic architecture standing proudly on the river. It’s a great photo spot, especially as you head over to Westminster Bridge.
Crossing the bridge is a real highlight. On one side, you’ll have an unbeatable view of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, and on the other, you’ll see the massive London Eye spinning slowly along the South Bank. The River Thames is wide and beautiful here, and the view is classic London.
Once you’re across the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the South Bank, one of London’s coolest, most vibrant areas. It’s perfect for a stroll along the river, with plenty of street performers, food stalls, and people enjoying the artsy vibe. You can take a ride on the London Eye, or just relax by the riverside and enjoy the atmosphere. You’ll also pass the Southbank Centre, which often has free art installations and performances.
The riverside walk takes you past so many cool places. You’ll see the futuristic Oxo Tower, the iconic Tate Modern art gallery, and the historic Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. The path is lively, with buskers, pop-up stalls, and great views of the river and the city skyline.
Keep following the river, and soon, you’ll see Tower Bridge in all its glory. This iconic bridge is instantly recognizable with its two massive towers and beautiful blue details. You can walk across the bridge itself, which is an experience in itself - the views of the Thames and the city are amazing!
As you walk over Tower Bridge, you can enjoy the fantastic view of the city, the river, and all the boats floating by. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even visit the Tower Bridge Exhibition to walk on the glass floor high above the water!
On the other side of the bridge, you’ll be right by the Tower of London, a place steeped in history. This medieval fortress is home to the Crown Jewels, and its famous Beefeaters will be there to tell you stories about its fascinating past. The Tower’s mix of ancient stone walls and stories of royalty, imprisonment, and treasures make it a must-see.
