Me too. Late last year got the original shape in a custom order. They knew this was coming up, they coulda offered me the carve body but nope. Still a great guitar but prefer this carve...
Novo´s are amazing. Congrats, Mr. Fano. You build something very special...no matter which name is on the headstock. And congrats R.J. these guitars suit you so well. I mean, you make everything sound incredible, but I have the feeling, a great guitar such this Novo inspires you and brings the very best out of you...., right? Thumbs up for this Video.

I like the visible grain on this instrument, and the way the finish enhances it. One wonders if a number of the changes to the body, from the previous issue, was simply a means of altering/adjusting the final weight.
On one of my guitars, I installed a phase-reverse switch for the bridge humbucker pickup, as well as the ability to cancel a coil by connecting the junction between coils to ground (I use the Peavey T-60 tone control circuit). One of the things this permits is the ability to use the coil closest to the bridge OR the one farther away from it. Much to my surprise, they sound *very* different from each other. When a dual-coil PAF-form pickup is closer to the bridge, the two coils sense different patterns of harmonic content, simply by virtue of distance from the bridge. While I haven't done the experiment, my guess is that a similar coil-switch on the neck pickup would not result in as audible a tonal change between coils. Of course, if someone else wants to conduct the experiment, I'd be willing to reconsider.

quite a versatile setup there with that pickup combination + the coil splitter switch, I particularly like the big clear sound of the staple pickup.
You pulled off some convincing rockabilly sounds there in the OD segment, that chopped tele bridge certainly adds to the tone!
That looks a lot like a Dunable Yeti, which also has this SG meets Jazzmaster vibe. Sounds awesome.
This is the only Novo I've ever seen that I might actually want. You make it sound awesome. Also, nice hair!

I'm an ES-175 and ES-335 jazz player who never uses overdrive / distortion but I gott'a admit that guitar is quite impressive. Articulate. Love the tone of that P-90 neck pickup.

I dig the changes Novo has made to the body on this model. What I don't dig are some of the changes they've made across the brand. Why is a 22 fret neck the only option? Why on earth is 9.5-14" compound radius the only option? At some point the neck pickup on the Serus models was moved slightly farther from the neck and the "sweet spot" (as an example, look at where the neck pickup is located on Rhett Shull's original Serus J vs the current ones). Why have they developed a proprietary Mastery vibrato footprint that, at present, you cannot buy a replacement unit for?
I had to sell my older version Serus J. 21 fret neck, 9.5" radius, neck pickup closer to the neck than the current model. It was PERFECT. I've since had 2 Js, both in their current version with 9.5-14" compound radius and the current neck pickup placement, and it just ain't the same. There are people that like a compound radius neck, sure... but give players, ESPECIALLY players ordering a custom guitar, the simple option of a choice fretboard radius. Novos are some of the best built guitars on the planet and the neck radius alone will keep me away from a new one.

Bro you need a baby pink guitar with that hair, try dying your eyebrows the same colour blue. That colour does nothing for your previously very cool hair. 😊 I want to see how close you can get a strat to jazz tone using different jazz pickup choices.
My least favorite Novo look, but I really like the look of Novo guitars! Improvements are definitely improvements, but I think a little more SG like bevels? I would also move the pickup selector to the upper horn, I’m sure one could get used to it being down there?
This pickup combination, especially with the addition of the out of phase switch - like on some of their Baritone guitars, is really powerful. Amazing amount of great tones. Absolutely a beast!

I've yet to see a Novo guitar that I'd buy. This one has awesome electronics but I don't like the pine body or the body shape. Sorry RJ, it's all subjective anyway.
But what is the big deal about Novos - apart from (some) nice designs by a famous guy and high prices?
I think the actual reality of the pretty emphatic “niceties” and quality praise they get is really lost in a sea of other guitar reviews that get equal acknowledgment. They really are in a very small league of guitars that truly warrant the attention. Coming in at a small premium over the standard Fender AVRI options and well below any comparably featured CS guitar, not only does the math make sense but the reverence Dennis gets becomes pretty clear.
