I have the previous generation of this laptop (700-11ISK) and it has failed 3 times in the exact same manner you describe since I got it in late 2015. Two of those times were thankfully during the extended warranty period and what they did to repair it was replace the whole motherboard. Last year it failed again and since I'm fond of it I went and bought a replacement motherboard on ebay and it turned right back on. I still do not know what causes the motherboard to fail but it seems to be a thing for Yogas of that era.
@chris3791 that's how difficult it is to replace. Similar to asking if you can transplant organs. It's possible, but if you're asking, then no, you yourself cannot do it.

How did you retrieve the data from the hard drive?
Was it encrypted?
