I admire everything that Richard Chamberlain does- a man who fully justifies the word MAN. The real beauty of a person lives in the heart, is reflected in the eyes, and is manifested in actions. Richard Chamberlain is beautiful not only on the outside, but also inside.♥️♥️♥️

I lost my dear husband of 47 years recently to cancer. He fought the brave fight. I miss him so much and will always love him so dearly. I wish this had been an option. I’m not sure what he would have wanted. It would always have been his decision. As it was he died in a good hospice and I was by his side. But I do wish he had been given this option. I have always been a great fan of Richard’s not jut because he was handsome and so talented. But because I’m pretty good at recognizing a genuinely good person when I see one God bless...
Richard just comes across as such a sweet, sincere and decent man - I just wish he had more prominent roles going his way because it's always a joy to see him on screen.

I've loved him since watching him in the Thorn Birds when I was a young teen! Imagine my horror to learn that, around the same time, he spent Christmas less than a mile away from me and didn't get the chance to knock on the door!! Now that would have made ALL my Christmas' 😩😍

My main man from ages 7-13. My Mom allowed me to stay up to watch Dr. Kildare. Our last name is Kilgore & my bday is 03/24, so in my prepubescent head those facts were close enough to be 'kindred spirits'.

I was just talking about this topic with a friend. I have an autoimmune disease that brought on chronic pain. So I believe a person who is suffering physically deserves to end their life if that's what they chose to do.

This is the way it should be. Lawmakers don’t pass laws such as this because the pharmaceutical industry’s profits would be severely cut as most people would opt out of chemo poisoning. This should be an individuals choice. Salute to Hawaii

This is so good to hear because it's not easy to die and nobody wants to suffer when the time comes. I've always heard "if I could only go to sleep and not wake up I wouldn't be afraid of death" It's not only the pain but the anguish and fear.

Our God is a God of life! Not death. We do not get to choose when life ends.
I think it is so tragic that someone that was blessed with
such talent from God would want to do this. The lord knows the time we will die, I know I will stand before him face to face soon enough the way this world is heading. When its my time his mercy and grace will be with me to carry me down that path. I only asked him to help me, he's faithful and just.

We home cared our mother, who thankfully, was not ill. We were there when, at 95, she went gently to sleep, at peace, and did not wake up. It was an honor to care for the feisty, vibrant single mother who cared for US - to return that gift was a privilege. But I think of others who have a family member who is suffering or impacted by poor health. And the right to die as one chooses, is basic. And needs to be respected. I admire Mr. Chamberlain for more than one reason. He's brave, honest and compassionate. Thank you.

Dear Richard, if you love your fans, don't choose this option. Stay with us till nature will end its cycle by itself. Only if you have big pains or suffer from a terminal stage of a disease, you should take this ultimate path. I refused to take my tomcat's life hoping till its last minute that it will survive. It died naturally in the end at 15.

I think that this is a wonderful thing and choice to do. After all, they put animals down if they are suffering and have no hope in continuing their life. My mother suffered needlessly when she was dying of cancer and was in so much pain. We all were praying for to pass over and be out of her suffering. The pain medication amount was not enough and we begged the doctor to give her an increased amount. He said "but if we give her anymore, it will put her in a coma and could kill her!" Howstupid is that? I do hope my state has this stipulation. There is no benefit to the patient in pain and waiting to die, but it is beneficial to the hospital.
I would have fired that Docter so fast and chose a new one. Death doesn't have to be a horrible memory for the family I know she is at rest now. Death will come to us all when our body is tired of functioning. Pain medication was given to us to use for this exactly, to ease the bodies natural process.

I've admired Richard for so, so many years. Thank you Richard, for supporting this cause..our Mother is 85 & has dementia..only my sister & I are taking care of her. I know the end of her life is getting closer each & every day so it's such a comfort to know that this option may be available for her. Nice to know your on the Hawaiian Islands too. I wrote 7 romance novels, one of each island, in current time, autobiographical fiction. Published, but became too ill to market. I hope that effective pain management is not being withheld from you, because you sound very cogent with ability to continue to live with importance and dignity.

Define ‘unbearable’.
I feel that way often, usually in the emotional world. Not to be pessimistic but being human nowadays is getting that way.
Unbearable means what someone cannot tolerate. I have chronic pain. Each day it varies. On the really bad days, I do think of just wanting it to end. But it’s NOT my LIFE I want to end, it’s the PAIN I want to end. So perhaps, if I may be so bold to say, we haven’t done enough research into pain management. Instead we went the opioid route, and we see where that has brought us to. In fact, I am on ZERO pain medication now. My Doctor, very suddenly quit prescribing pain medications to me, even though I have complied with the dosage, submitted to random drug testing, etc. This ALL happened right as we were hearing in the news about the increase in deaths due to opioids. They need to say “opioid MISUSE.” Opioids were created to reduce, or make the pain go down. When you misuse them, the result is you die. That’s why they give you a warning on the box, and on the information inside the box.
You can call it what you like but it’s still not right. Thou shall not kill.
As someone with chronic, severe pain, I have thought about assisted right to die. My body and mind wishes freedom from this torture I have had for over 40 years!
As an Evangelical Born Again Christian, I cannot go that route. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ knows when the time is right. In the mean time I have children to live for, and the moments of calmness, though rare, to look forward to. He gave me life for a reason and only He should make the decision to take it, so I can be with Him. Yes, I take powerful medications that help me sleep. I have joy in Christ. I know Him more richly and deeply through my pain.
May God bless those who cry out in the torture some of us live through. The Lord is sweet, loving and merciful. Turn to Jesus. Ephesians 2:4 , Psalm 119:156. There are many more verses that give us comfort. >
I think people should have the right to make their own decisions. Most people have been taught that such decisions are committing suicide and that this is wrong. I firmly believe in the right to end your life while also admitting I personally don't know if I would have the guts to do it. I believe it takes much strength to make this decision. For those who do, though, I honor their choice.
There is a fine line between personal choice and someone else's expectation that you hasten death. Moreover, you will soon find doctors making end of life decisions, not the patients. These ads promoting assisted suicide are terribly misleading.
Wake up people! Before it's to late... Seek out truth in this unbelievable time we are experiencing! You'll be eternally grateful you did!

Won't be of any help to someone who is writhing in pain from terminal cancer. Where's your reason and logic? Buried under superstition.
Pray for some wisdom to get knowledgeable and dedicated people to assess the level of this dear persons pain whether it anxiety or or the pain from the terminal illness. No one should have 5o die alone.

This is an immoral slippery slope which isn't really compassionate. Soon we will be pressured to end our lives when old and infirm. Let's work towards better pain management with the dying. Life is short enough anyway.
@Sunshine Baker Where must you live that you see someone medically attended go down to that weight at that height? You keep mentioning this; obviously it is painful for you, I'm so sorry. But please, how can you deny that something Greater is going to EASE the suffering? Yes, it is horrid for the "healthy" to observe this, yet the Higher Power (whatever that is for you) is merciful, starts preparing that suffering one's mind and soul for peace, but we get so scared at the "shell" of the person (the body) we see in real life. I truly believe that the suffering person's soul is taken care of and protected even though there is a process for the actual body to go quiet. Just my thoughts. Not trying to force anything.
