WITH THE SPECIFIC PIANO BACKBEAT ON THIS RECORD, IT JUST MIGHT BE THE FIRST ROCK n ROLL RECORDING IN HISTORY! Not jump blues or boogie. No, folks, Rocket 88 is NOT the first RnR record. This is a year earlier
Yes, Fats goes Jazz, So many of his records including saxphone and trumpet . And they are fine musicians. I LIKE THE LP. "I MISS YOU SO" A LOT OF PIANO PLAYING ONLY. And when Fats sing "wau-wau-wau" Before Dave took over it. All masters.

Highest chart position is Opelousas ? Haha - where do you get this information ? I love it - Opelousas is a small town in St Landry Parish a few miles outside of Mamou . Seeming as Opelousas has traditionally been home to more blacks than whites , it makes sense that an RnB number from 55 would chart highest there.
Some of the songs he sings pretty much describes what's been going on in my life and this is one of them.
One of the earliest R&B and rock artists.
Loved his songs. He is truly missed.

This is not jazz but the beginning of real rock n roll that would dominate for the next decade
Final direct to Disc..all the rest were from master tape.

I love Fats..there was a huge second line for him in New Orleans when he passed. We love you always!!!!
I’ve only ever heard Slim Whitman sing this, good on you Fats👍
That would be something!
It's too bad that Fats, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint and Mac Rebennack (Dr. John) couldn't have done a record together!
Don't forget Bo Diddley.
Would you settle for a film with Longhair, Toussaint and Tuts Washington ? "Piano Players Rarely Ever Play Together" (1982).
Some shit talkt up ther😂😅😮😊

Info comes from the original Cash Box magazines 😉
One of his BEST records - except for that "corny" trumpet solo!
I agree, that has to be the worse trumpet playing I have ever heard.
Are you serious ,you are talking about one the best trumpet player ever Dave Bartholemew.
@@cashew515 exactly.
@@Labaron26 Was that a trumpet? Sounds like a KAZOO!!!!!!!!!!
