Before watching this, I'd never even thought about the hood pin. I will be sure to ask whichever shop I take my car to.

Nice install Bob. Going over the vehicle and marking down things you've noticed before starting your install is a great idea.

i love that you guys solder the connections. i find it very professional to do this, it shows that you all are actually taking your time and doing things the right way. Soldering connections provide a much stronger, cleaner, and a more conductive connection than crimp connectors. I find it extremely un-professional and just plain lazy when other installers (Geek Squad) use those dreaded connectors. Personally i solder and heat shrink ALL electrical connections in my vehicle.

I had my 2010 Acura MDX done by Mobile Edge. I had the factory bass speaker replaced, added a amplifiers, and a remote starter. They did a great job and their customer service is outstanding. Bob thanks.

If you solder, you create a hard spot in the wire which can't flex, that puts all the stress on the wire right next to the solder point. The solder won't break but the wire will.

This is not a how to video. This is a video of what was done and not telling how to install the remote start system. The video should be called why we solder wires!

I agree with soldering, it is the best. Heat shrink is better then electrical tape, but it is expensive.

Impressive, I see you guys do things right. Being ex-navy I'm very technically inclined and love your processes. I don't trust my car to anyone around where I live (NYC Metro area). By watching this video, I would gladly take my car to have this done to my car. Quick questions 1) How long would this take on an Inifiniti QX4? 2) How much would it cost? 3) As far as the kill switch in the hood, i guess depending on the switch circuitry Normally Closed or Normally Open (for when the hood is open), would someone still be able to turn on the engine the conventional way with the key in the ignition, or does this kill switch create an open in the entire circuit and also inhibit someone from turning on the vehicle from the ignition key? I appreciate the kill switch safety feature, but when I'm working on my car, I would need to turn the engine on to diagnose..etc.

A 2007 "Kham-puhs"? It's pronounced Kum-puhs/Cumpuss. Other than that, good video. I'm checking out your website now.

Rob, what made you think it was a "how to" video? Especially since I included in the description the words " THIS IS NOT A "HOW-TO" VIDEO!!!"
