Found your channel off of instagram!! So cool, I had no idea soap takes 4-6 weeks to be done. I can’t wait to try this with leftover ginger, cinnamon sticks or cardamom seed. Thanks for sharing 💕
So my boyfriend and I made our first batch of these using this recipe. We put them in little silicon ice cube trays about the size of half of my palm. Some were strawberry and bee shaped. We left it in for a week because even after two days the were too wet. When we took them out they were soooo flaky on the outside. Do you know why it ended up like that? I feel like we must have messed up and I want to get it right next time.
They look so nice. I’m waiting on a few supplies. Then I’m going to make a super strong coffee scrub soap. I ordered some pure coffee oil. I think I’m going to make my lye water with coffee. I haven’t decided yet. Then I’m going to steep the grinds in some of the oils. Probably the coconut. I’m playing it by ear. Making it up as I go along. I’ve seen really nice citrus soaps on youtube. Ones made with blood orange and limes. That really isn’t waste but it looked divine. I have some henna powder that might make a good shampoo bar addition. The lists are endless. Thank you
Bottega Zero Waste Thank you. Yes I will check it out. I’m reading my comment. 😂 I get so excited when I make these things. I work in a lab at a college and currently I’m not working because of this whole corona thing. So I get the itch to whip up some potions.
Hi Marta, I was checking with the soapcalc and I think that for that proportion of lye and water the total amount of oils should be 200gr instead of 100gr. Please can you confirm this? thank you!
Hi Marta, I was wondering why the proportion of oils to NaOH and water are are different in this recipe, compared to your other soap recipes. I just made the one from your instagram stories (where you used a milk carton), and the total amount of oils was 200g, wheras here 100g. The same amont of NaOH and water was used in both recipes though. Grazie mille!
Hey, Marta. I have a question. What happens if you blend the soap a little bit longer after you have the trace. I drifted away a few seconds and I forgot to stop the blender :) thank you
Se l'acqua del tuo rubinetto è abbastanza pura da essere bevuta, va bene. Se vuoi vendere i saponi o vuoi ottenere un grado di purezza maggiore allora usala distillata o filtrata!
I tried this recipe and it turned out of amazing thank you for sharing it
I just bought my soap making supplies, and can't wait to try out this recipe! Love this tutorial, and I love your soap collection!
let me know how it goes :)

This is so pleasing to watch!! Thank you!) i would love to make my own soap
Your videos are always so relaxing and inspiring to watch :) such a good idea to incorporate food waste into soap making. Much love!
thank you so much!!
Hi! I would like to ask how long these food soap bars can last. Will it go bad or turn mouldy when i use it?

Thanks for this video, but isn't it a bit contradictory to put essential oils in a soap supposed to be zero waste and though ecological ?
Me encantan tus videos

Helllo Marta!!
Would I be able to substitute the sunflower oil with argan oil or castor oil or even jojoba oil??
Thank you!
Hi! No, you would need to re-run the whole recipe. Also I have added a recipe card which contains an update to the original recipe.

@@BottegaZeroWaste I haven't written to you on Instagram 🤔. Sorry for the confusion
@@megan_beveridge Hi Megan, just realised this recipe had a small typo but this has been since updated! thanks for flagging.

It will just be harder and more difficult to pour but it will also "cure" faster :)
Could you make this with coconut butter instead of oil
No, coconut butter is not an oil but I think it's a processed version of the coconut pulp made into a butter. You need oils to make soap!
What's the difference between using lye and glycerin?
These are 2 completely different things, with lye you make soap from scratch, glycerin is a humectant
