The original spezi has oj in it just the other brands like mezzo mix or paulaner spezi is mixed with fanta

The only real difference between a batter and a dough is the ratio of liquid to flour and then how you develop the gluten. They're the same basic ingredients. Once its cooked the texture is generally your only clue between them if you don't know what something is.
Too true,. Yorkshires are made by adding oil and some of the drippings to the mix and then it rises in the oven while it actually fries in the oil. Messy but delicious.

It's pronounced /spay-tzea/ and it originally is Fanta + Cola (or other brands of them). It is amazing! I'm from Holland, with Germany just ten minutes away and when in my youth, all the years we went snowboarding in Switzerland/Austria I drank liters of this Godlike Nectar!

I think it's the same in most of Eastern Europe, I ate pasta with milk all my life and was never aware that it could be a "crime" in other parts of the world.

Macaronies stewed in milk with sugar was definitly a thing in Sweden back in the day some 40 years ago. Skipping the stewing part and just have straight milk.. I dunno.. sure why not? Breakfast Macaroni Cereal? :)

Yea macaroni boiled in milk used to be popular in Finland too, it is called makaronivelli/makaronivälling. Except for sugar, a bit of cinnamon and butter could be added too for extra flavor, pretty tasty :)
This is also quite traditional in parts of Britain. We use macaroni pasta and cook it in milk with some sugar. A bit like a rice pudding.

Yorkshire pudding is pancake batter. It's often just with added salt so it's more savoury. At least that's the case here. Pancake batter= Yorkshire pudding batter.
The vegetable jelly is actually a traditional food in certain parts of Europe. Although prepared a little differed and served with vinegar on top 😅
In Norway we got a dish that kinda looks like the jellied vegetable egg, it's called "Kabaret" and is typically made and served at Christmas times.
It's probably much better than the one on the show lol

Well Spezi is a mix between Cola and Fanta and we Germans love it! The best one (in my opinion) is made by a beer brewer company called Paulaner 😍

As a Polish citizen who has also lived in Ukraine as well as Russia- I personally (it could be a thing I just wasn’t aware of) have never had the Eastern European dish. I did eat a lot of egg noodles with jam and sugar though!

When I was a flight attendant overseas, many passengers requested OJ and cola. It actually tastes soo good. The passengers sometimes would ask for "swamp water" and that was it.

As a Czech I can confirm I've never heard of the pasta in milk dish until this video. We would sometimes have pasta with sugar and quark, but I've never eaten pasta in milk nor have I heard anybody talking about it.

In my food i have a thing with weird textures. Some of these, even if the flavor was ok, I would never be able to get past the texture.
When they got to oj and cola I was like “oh yeah, Spezzi! I’ve only had it a couple times but it’s so good.” And as I kept watching I realized I’ve already seen this episode and this was how I learned about Spezzi in the first place and made me want to try it 😂 A real ouroboros moment

As a certified Eastern European you have to partially or completely boil the pasta in the milk depending on the type of pasta and usually there's vanilla in it so its not just milk and sugar taste. Yeah having regularly boiled pasta in a bowl with cold milk is probably a lot more gross.
The biggest food crime in this episode was actually Link eating ice cream with a fork. I had to look away 🫣
and noodles with a spoon, but that's probably only weird for me

Try this on my sister. She was über picky when it came to eating when we were kids, and even now that we're both over 21, there are still some food combos, condiments, or just straight up food that she won't try. If there's anyone who can judge what food crimes should be locked away without parole, it's her.
Probably has hypersensitive taste buds. Lots of "picky eater" adults do. I'm one of them.

YORKSHIRE PUDDING IS NOT BREAD😂 I heard a lot of Americans call it German bread/pudding (or something with German even though it has nothing to do with Germany) or 'The Popover', except Popovers are apparently more hard and airy, whereas yorkshire puddings are more fluffy and airy. It's made from eggs, milk, flour and a bit of salt. That's it. And I have to say, I do make the best yorkshire puddings and toad in the holes 🙃
