- Ten-man City fought back to earn a point against title-chasing United. This game was three days after City had beaten Leeds 4-0, leaving United a point clear with two games in hand.
Neil Pointon was sent off shortly into the second half for a lunge at Ryan Giggs. Sorry, don't have video of that incident.
Manchester United 1-1 Manchester City, April 7th 1992.
Goals: Ryan Giggs; Keith Curle (p). Спорт
These were the last days of real football for me. It's just a corporate love-in nowadays.
Alright, someone runs on to the pitch and granted, 'you never know what they could be carrying' but it's so refreshing to see Keith Curle just go with the flow and share the fans jubilation. It's equally great to not have to watch 18 fat stewards chase him before slamming him down to the floor which is what we get today.
None of the players flinched, nobody cared - I think everyone understood what football meant to people whereas today.......
I love the game but it used to be so much better :)
91/92 and Giggs is still at Man Utd.
Was this was the last derby in the old first division? The swamp sure was different back then...
Was at this game, such a blow to draw a game we were winning and controlling
Hmmmmm....and here was me thinking we all just started supporting City. Thought we never took any to OT too? I love bullshit from oppo fans.
