    I lived in KSA region for 10 years....including during 9/11. I would go back in a heartbeat and reunite with my Saudi lifelong friends. Its a wonderful, complex and wonderful country. As long as you show respect for the culture you will have zero problems and 😊you will find the most warm and generous people.

    The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the top 5 places I want to visit. I have watched hundreds of hours of documentaries, on the country and region, on the culture and its history, it seems like such an amazing and wonderful place. The people always seem like the most kind and caring people in the world. It's very unfortunate that most Americans only know what they've seen on the news, or worse, ideas they've formed in their heads.

I follow a lot of sailing channels and It’s been a nice change to watch a boat that is more about the destination - than the sailing journey. Although raised in Annapolis and a sailor my entire life, I appreciate the fact that the focus of the channel is the adventure in the destinations. So cool. And bless your kids hearts, I HATED sailing at their ages BUT my parents were just like you, Keith and Renee. They knew what was best for me and, in turn, I did what I was told. Well done. I discretely developed a sailing centre for our expat kids at the dinghy club on the huge lagoon to the north of the city. We made sailboarding a sport there, and I even had girls afloat! Travel was not allowed at all in the country.
    I did buy a derelict Prout Snowgoose ,fixed it up ,new engine etc ,and battered up to Suez ,thence to Cyprus. Tough trip.

    Absolutely loving your journey. A big smile came across my face as I saw your initial feelings about going into an Islamic country and the reality of going into an Islamic country--I got to relive how I felt my first time as an American. The kindness, hospitality, and first class services can't be beat. I personally haven't been to Saudi Arabia, but you'll find exactly the same thing in Doha, Qatar or Abu Dhabi, UAE. I go to SE Asia often and fly Qatar Airlines purposely (or Emirates to Abu Dhabi) because the airline is awesome and to spend a few days in Doha or Abu Dhabi because the people are incredible and the food is delicious. Thx for sharing. Can't wait to see the new crew members and your adventures in Egypt.

      I suggest you watch other travel channels that travel to places where others may have a negative preconceived opinion. I’ve been shocked at how many places, as an American, I would’ve never gone only to learn they’re extremely welcoming, hospitable, kind people.

    • @BMarie774
      @BMarie774 Год назад +2

      @@jillhallisey6290 It’s not quite prejudice. The issue, is that western media paints Saudi Arabia in a very negative light. A lot of Middle East and parts of Asia are that truly just aren’t as scary as western media would have you believe. You can only have the perspective you’ve seen. That’s why channels like this are so fundamental in letting people get different perspectives. Your language is a bit shaming in nature, which you shouldn’t shame someone for admitting they’ve beaten a preconceived notion.

    After a horrendous 2022, shell-stunned financial backers have misfortunes to recover and a lot to consider, as an expansion report and a pile of different information did close to nothing to change assumptions that the Central bank would probably keep climbing intrest rates regardless of whether the economy dials back, And that implies more red ink for portfolios for the principal quarter of year 2023.
