Yeah-this came to mind for me to. So perhaps half heartedly praying for something that is fuelled buy a Godly desire of course is synonymous with being sinful. This is pretty eye-opening- if we believe in all that God is and our request is an overflow of his love and for his glory, it will be done believing we will see it before we do. So by faith. Thoughts?

I'm reminded of something C.S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity (I think it was that book, anyway):
That the little actions and decisions we make through life are an adjustment to our heading. As if we're a boat, so to speak.
Over a long journey, those minor adjustments can take one waaaay off course - or put you back towards it.
Why is God so interested in our hearts - in the inner man - and not just the actual deed being done *right now*?
This video covers some great reasons. But also, I think, because He sees the end from the beginning - He sees the dock, or the rocks, at the end of your current heading, and wants you to continuously adjust it towards His kingdom and goodness, not anything else.
And to trust in His guidance and power to do so: not your own 'guesstimations', so to speak.
Question is: do you want God? Is He 'good', in your eyes, or merely a good thing to be ranked alongside other things on this earth?
He is the source of goodness - the Creator of all things. Alpha and Omega.
Placing Him appropriately in your prioritization - what the First and Second Commandments are about, i.e. placing Him *first*, and not just by a short margin - is how you right the ship. And while you need His help to do that, He's fully aware of this, else Christ would not have died.
Place your trust in Him, seek to glorify (and not shame) Him, and move forward from there to where He leads you.
I've a long way to go.

Therefore, the streaming option on youtube is more convenient. And also is easy to access an episode left mid way on the Apple TV since it’s stored in RUclips’s history . Very good teaching.
The topic discussed in this video shows just how far mainstream Western culture is from the truth. Most Westerners think that they live pretty decent lives, but they pay little or no attention to God. In reality, their whole lives are saturated by sin and rebellion towards their Maker.
This gets me thinking too about film and TV censorship. Films and TV programs are considered appropriate for children if they avoid sex, violence and bad language. If they avoid these things, they are seen as morally fine and not setting a bad example to children. But in God's sight, whatever the characters in films and TV programs do that is not based on faith in Jesus Christ is setting a terribly bad example to children.
I am not saying that Christians should avoid all non-Christians films and programs, or even that Christian parents should always keep their children away from them. My point is just that the moral values of mainstream Western culture are extremely distorted. True morality is all about openly and consciously having God and Jesus at the centre of things.

So wait... after my third time replaying this... 2:00-2:45 so basically everything humans do is sin period??? Then how can I rejoice in the Lord ? Knowing that everything I am doing in the natural world is just another thing that crucified him??? Idk... I have to think about that. Idk if I agree with this interpretation of scripture. What about “anyone who gives you even a cup of water in my name shall not lose their reward?” If Jesus isn’t beckoning the whole world and only pleased with religious deeds how is that any different from Islam??
I love pastor Piper so much, I am not trying to be unfair or argumentative. I am struggling with some things and failing miserably and trying not to allow the thorns of life to choke my walk with God. It is hard for me right now.
I found comfort in this post but this part made me do a double take.
Aren’t we forgiven in Christ? Aren’t we washed in the blood? Will he count me as the goats if I keep doubting what He has said to me? I don’t think so, but I don’t want to bet my Life with Him forever on just one interpretation of scripture. I believe in eternal security, but I don’t want to let him down. I could never be Calvinist, because I would give up striving. Jesus is for everyone.

I have been encouraged lately because I have felt much guilt in my soul for not being good enough for God and that guilt has been such a burden on me but when I look to the cross I see my Saviour who bore the burden of my guilt and took it on himself so I may go free and live by faith in his finished work and his continued love for me. I hope this will encourage you too.

I had been running myself ragged working two jobs and volunteering at my church trying so hard to show that I was a good Christian when I read this “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. If God prepared the works that I was going to be doing beforehand then why was I running myself into the ground trying so hard to prove to myself I was a good christian? After countless attempts at studying my bible and reading over and over Ephesians I finally read that it is God Himself that prepares the works beforehand that I realized I needed to stop working in vain and enjoy the grace that God gave me. When I did this I realized that I should stop aiming to please Him and enjoy the fact that He chose me before I chose Him. Check out John 10

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
    1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations.
A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
    2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
    3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24.
The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.
    4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9.
The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
    5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.
Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
    6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
    7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
    8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
    9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
    10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging

For our God looks at the heart and no there is not one righteouse not one. So you need Jesus Christ in your heart. So when God looks thats what he will see. Not those things we do that seem good, but are not. For there is only one that is good.

9:05 Faithfulness in Martyrdom or Brushing your Teeth ??? This kind of equivocation only mounts up inferiority, (bolstered by the sneaky justification "If our eyes are open" and the presumptive distinguishing qualifying prerequisite "we know") it sows doubt and belittles the importance of the right discernment of The Agency of the Holy Ghost.
