As minimalist we may be all striving to buy less, spend less and save more. To limit consumption, limit clutter and become clutterfree. But what if our choices to noy buy certain items not only saved us money as a part of frugal and financial minimalism, but that they were also eco friendly. I suggest 10 items I no longer buy as a minimalist in this video... To help me save more but that also helps the environment. Ten small changes that could help you become less wasteful and more zero waste. I love to be intentional in my minimalist lifestyle and make changes that lead towards an ecoconscious environmentally friendly way of life. Here is My Frugal Auditing my life Playlist. Electric cars are not the best option everytime. In Hungary our electricity system could not handle it if a lot of people would switch to EVs. We would buy so much electricity and not from Earth friendly sources. My personal problem with EVs is that here firefighters can't stop the fire if EVs get on fire, which happened a lot this year. They just dig a hole next to the highway and wait until it burns down. Those batteries are very dangerous right now, the technology is just not there yet where it's safe. Also one of the funniest (sad) things was when my husband saw a Tesla on the highway carrying a gasoline aggregator...
Interesting input about the electricity source. I know what you mean there needs to be new advancements with the lithium batteries but it’s already happening. The size of the battery required to run the EV is getting smaller and smaller. Also I researched that they can now absolutely be recycled. Some can be reused for household power which requires less output, even when at the end of life in the EV. Also Tesla has a 100% recycle scheme. So the Tesla ones are an option that definitely don’t need to end up in landfill.
I comply agree bettinak. I'm all for eco friendly but cannot stand EVs. Plus the level of control they give the wrong people in the future is frightening. Brilliant video as usual, love following for story sagelife!
I know you’ve said that your water doesn’t taste nice because of the hard minerals, and you have a filter, but when i lived in Canberra, which has terrible water, I would pour our filtered water into a glass jug and add a charcoal stick that i bought from the Scoop bulk foods shop - it is a Japanese method of water purifying called Binchotan - and this double filter made a big difference. And when it was at end of life, i broke it up and put it in my house plant soil.
If I'm really tired, I'll indulge in takeaway but not often. 😊 I use an all natural conditioner bar from a small business called Beauty and that Bees works wonders on my hair! Australia is too wide and vast. Cars are needed. However, I wish I had the money for an electric car! Many Australians subscribed here not just US! 😊
I know you’re growing you Ozzie’s 😂my analytics tell me nearly 10% Ozzie’s 🇦🇺 on my channel 10% Canada 🇨🇦 40% USA 🇺🇸 12% 🇬🇧 8% Germany 5% French 🇫🇷 5% Spanish 🇪🇸 4%India 🇮🇳 and the rest remaining is just a lovely cocktail of everyone around the globe 🌎 😊
I need to try and not buy any new physical books. Read the ones I have that I haven’t read ( which is a lot) and if I do want to read new books, read them on my kindle. I also need to walk more!! But I don’t drive so use public transport all the time. Only my hubby drives and needs the car for work. Eventually we might get electric or hybrid car but they’re too expensive for us at present. I was a tourist today in my home town and went on a Historical costume walk which was lovely and I found out things about my hometown I didn’t know xxx
I noticed you are growing your fringe. Your hair grows pretty quickly. I liked the fringe (bangs) on you . I'm minimalist now and I have sadly still lots of pens that I don't want to own but same time they have labels and I can't donate them. I reached my goal to own only one Travel parfum bit my real goal is to own non so i am slowly going down.ahhahaha vthe minimalism has hit hard and just I keep my hand made spiritual paintings and few decos rest has left the house 🏡 . Finished the kitchen decluttered. I pretty much don't own anything hahaha very extreme there but next step clothes . Are you planing to cut your fringe again of you let it grow out
Well it’s a difficult decision the whole fringe malarkey 😂 because on the 1 in 20 days my hair actually does as it’s told I do like it. However… 19 days out of 20 it does not do as it’s told 😂 I have naturally very curly hair which means I have to attempt to straighten my fringe everyday, when it’s shorter which obviously isn’t ideal for my hair. In short it’s very high maintenance. I enjoy the low maintenance nature of having a grown out fringe once it gets to sort of chin length. It no longer matters if it’s a bit wavy etc and it ties back. No fringe is definitely the minimal effort option 😂. Also my fringe even drove me abit crackers on good days as it really itched my forehead. So no plans to cut it anytime soon. Unless I change my mind again 😊 Well done on all the decluttering 😊
Nice ones! It's really hard for take out food 😮💨 I never thought of plastic pens!! Good idea! do you know maybe the classic Nuxe oil you can use also on body, face, hair? ☺️ How is it possible to not drown with this water 💦😂
Yes I use to use the other oil but I wanted something that would protect my hair from sun, chlorine, sea water & heat. I noticed when I went to Greece last year. Being in the pool, swimming in the sea, then the 42c temperature ☀️ and straightening my hair really impacted its condition. But this one is great for protecting me from all those things. I really like all the Nuxe products though. I even have seen they started doing a new tinted moisturiser I like the look of. French skincare is the best 😉 🇫🇷 One day in this audit I did choke 😂 💦
@@SagelifeMinimalism I didn't think of sun protection you're right the oil is bad in this case 😉 I have their new BB cream it smell so good 😭 and it work well! 👌🏼☺️ (vegan & cruelty free) Hahaah if I drink as fast as you I'll drool 🤤🤣♥️
I have and I did mention lithium batteries. I think because of the scale and how much pollution is caused by oil & petrol that electric cars are the lesser of two evils. As it’s not just the building & production of the car to consider is it. It’s the whole bundle. How much pollution the car creates in its lifetime. Also petrol cars have more moving parts. They’re going to need replacing and get faults sooner. Leading to yet more pollution & consumption….I did also say public transport would be the best option.
If the public transport were excellent I would use it every time, not just for the environmental impact but driving is getting more stressful (imo). I bought a fountain pen some years ago and now I can't get the cartridges for it and the ink filler perished. I'm very disappointed as I loved the way it wrote. Any suggestions folks?? Re electric cars - they are not the environmental positive that they were at first thought to be. A well maintained, older car ( say over 5 years old) it could be argued, is more environmentally friendly. Most of these have catalytic converters and do not need to be made by digging up and refining precious metals (the refining processes for which are truly terrible for the environment.
@lynnoorman2144 I may do a full video on this subject at some point in the future. As I think depending on the articles people read there may be some bias. Although the production of EV’s and Regular Vehicles may be on a similar level to produce. The lithium batteries in EV’s are now 100% recyclable. Also throughout both types of vehicles entire life, (Which is really what we need to look at), The EV has a lower carbon footprint. The only thing that I think that is really worth pointing out. Is that in some countries where the electric supply to charge the cars is from non sustainable sources anyway. Such as burning fossil fuels. Then it kind of defeats the object. Albeit it still stops the second phase of pollution from many cars giving out pollution & carbon emissions. So really I think when people are saying that EV’s are not much better, or worse than regular vehicles, they are talking just about the production process.

You should look up where and how the materials for electric cars are sourced. It’s equally damaging to the environment.
