Patara, please stop apologizing for doing what you know is right. It’s so sad that when tragedy happens not only does it bring out the best in people but it also brings out the lowest of the low. Having been through a flood twice in my life I applaud you for not shoving a camera in the face of those suffering. You are an amazing woman. May God continue to bless you and your family along with those suffering.

As a survivor of the the outbreak of tornadoes on April 4, 1973-74 in Alabama, PTSD is real. I thought I was going to die. I stood in a creek in knee-depth water at 18 while pregnant during a storm because I had no shelter to enter four years after my small town lost 37, including 2 of my young friends and several other teenagers

A notice to all, if you love Patara and care about her and her family, then in the name of all that is good, pure, just and Holy, LISTEN to what she is asking you to do and to NOT do, don't make their life difficult because you have a "hearing problem". If you care about "others" then live it out and act accordingly. Don't burden someone else because you can't follow directions.

She told me FEMA came in and took where she was all the donations and had them sent to Briston, TN. She also told me that 2 displaced families were removed from the motel they were staying at to allow FEMA to have their rooms. God help these people!

My son is in St Pete, he just got electric back. He had a small generator for his fridge, and gave one to an older neighbor for his frig, a few lights...but his friend ,wife and daughter live on the beach, and their house is destroyed. They are getting discouraged, as they tear out, clean up, and prep for the next storm. That ptsd you spoke about is real. Thank you, God bless you. You have helped in such great ways!! Well done. Again, thank you Patera, James, M&M Pinball, Michelle & all the volunteers for all you've done. We're on Day #17 without power here in SE Georgia in our little town of 22,000. About half have power now, which is a blessing & we know we'll get ours eventually! Its been such a spiritual uplifting watching our small community come together to help one another, from churches to volunteers helping the elderly with all the pine trees we lost during Helene. We're so very thankful that God watched over us & family and damages that can be repaired. Look for the good in these bad situations and hug someone, smile at someone, it could really help them get thru these disasters. Love & prayers but to all. 💜🙏

1:17 Patara, thank you that one of your first questions to me when I meet you at Newport was what church we were with. I didn’t say we go to Loveland Baptist in Knoxville and they are doing disaster relief. I said we just came alone. To clarify, we are older 67and 78, and we wear down faster than the young folks so we volunteer alone so we can stop as needed. Thank God for our friends and neighbors working diligently to meet the needs.

You have given people actual ministries that are being good stewards in their outreach that are helping. Of course you haven't forced people to be on camera who are in need, because you are an adult who has known hurt and confusion in your own life. Just finished cleaning up and here comes Milton, huge mess lake flooded, 4 days and finally power back. A week of clean up ahead. It's been rough. All that combined, doesn't even approach what happened in Appalachia. Everyone keep them in the prayers. My heart breaks for them.

Thank you Patra for having respect for the victims of the floods. I would do the same. They need people who are sensitive to them and their needs. You are one of those people.

Thank you for caring and sharing what real people do in times of crisis..We don't need sensationalism to imagine what it must be like to experience such devastation...I was blessed to see a drop off site in my town where a group were heading out today to donate. This was an answer to my prayer in how I could help in some way. I hope each person that feels forgotten in this mess sees a glimpse of hope and God's love.
