Why do you have problems commiting to things that concerns your nation and its people who told you men all that all the recipes written in a book works 💯, perzent? this is why you need more women in parliament Kwame Nkrumah new that economic books don't make you solve your problems. Bentil reason is simple. The cost of running Komemda will be higher. It is not every commodity you import which you must produce. That is why we trade among nations. Focus on the product you are efficient in and trade. With komenda, the cost of maintaining it will be very high, even the investors we have tried to lure in run away. To make Komenda work, we need to ban all other sugar and force people to buy that komenda sugar which is expensive. The money should have been used for something else

Why is the second speaker attempting to equalise an obvious wrong done by one party? He said it is not the duty of the government to build businesses but to create the platform for the private sector yet attempt to say that all the parties are guilty. But he has blatantly refused to consider that this government and their philosophy is geared towards the private sector upon which the 1d1f policy is anchored. Hasn't he heard from Mr Mahama and his NDC members making fun of that approach and accusing the government of claiming individual projects. How then should any objective analysis say that all parties are the same?

  • @politicallyafrican6317

If the factory is not giving you comparative advantage you have to use it for something else which will give you comparative or competitive advantage. NDC realized that late that is why they sort to sell 70% to an investor few months after commissioning. They claim even if we are to grow sugar cane, we cannot harvest during rainy season and again the required acres of land to grow the required quantity of sugar cane had not been secured. So we have to import sugar cane in rainy season and other days to feed the plant. How sustainable or cheap will the sugar be? The only reason for reviving the factory was to score political point over who has revived Nkrumah's legacy. This was just a waste of time and money. The irony is when the one who caused it will just not keep quiet but go round telling the government to operationalize something they were unsuccessful at doing (looking for investors). Very hypocritical.

They were never serious. Engineering manager had barely completed national service; production manager was yet to do her national service. For a factory of this caliber they employed only inexperienced people in FMCG.

If he was looking for investors and failed to get one and the current government is also looking for same investors but yet to also get it, what is lack of political will about this.
Did you hear the former PRO of Komenda say in the news that even the acres of land required for the quantity of sugar cane needed was yet to be secured and even when it is grown, the sugar cane cannot be harvested in rainy season.
