Haha! Yeah I have the added benefit of making a video out of the process, but in all honesty it wasn’t that bad. For the record, my wife thought it was a total waste of time.
Super cool find! I ended up filling my garage wall to wall with 3/4" horse stall mats. Took about 3-4 weeks to get the rubber smell out, mending plates at the joints, and extra duty gorilla tape on the seams. The exact same mats (- the rubber smell) would have been about $3k from a gym-type store, the horse stall mats though was about $850 ($900 with the mending plates and tape).
Yeah, it amazes me how expensive flooring can be. That’s part of the reason I didn’t look into upgrading until recently. Horse stall mats are a great option.
Flooring would be nice. I have an old carpet below my exercise space and put some doubled up puzzle foam mats, where I need it and have some crash mats for deadlifting. I will insulated and renovate the attic during summer and want to use similar flooring as you now did, when it is done. Until then, the carpet will have to do.
Yeah, it’s not 100% necessary to have for a workout but it really nice to have once the basic needs are taken care of. I’d like to see how yours turns out.
Fudge this. You could not pay me enough to do this task. You are amazingly dedicated. I would've 100% waited 'till the move. I do not envy you.

I broke a sweat just watching you labor bruh!!! 😂. Job well done! Space looks great!
Hmm…if watching that made you sweat, wait until you see the Build Off video! You’ll be drenched in sweat, cold sweats!
@@KaizenDIYGym Haha!!! 🥶😅!!! I can't wait to see what you've got in store for me!!
Really surprised and impressed with how much of an improvement it is. Congrats on the find.

Do you know the brand? Saw the Plae video from GGL and wondering if there is something a bit closer in price to horse stall mats.
No idea, I picked them up in rolls and there’s no markings on them whatsoever. They are a bit thinner than horse stall mats.
