Why I don't give anyone money outside my immediate family.
The fake beggars really piss me off, They make it even harder for the real beggars To survive😭
The vast majority of people are homeless by choice because they are jobs available for them to apply too but they choose to be bums in the streets. If I could get out and work then everyone could get out and work because you have people that are disabled and some in wheelchair that could get out and work.
I agree that there is many fake beggars scamming people all around the world but sometimes there is people out there who really needs help and they lost hope and they didnt find any way else but to do that. Sad that this makes people get a hard heart towards giving to real people in need. "LIFE IS NOT FAIR"!!!
real beggars? they all lie.. it is not our responsibility to figure out who is the honest one. it is our responsibility to hand them a few bucks or some change when they ask.
there's shouldn't even be "real beggars" all US states have a welfare program that provides food stamps and helps with housing. I used to work in a certificate program, that gave out housing certificates to help them with shelter. I think they had to have a case manager first, and it's a good idea because the CM can help in case the person has problems with money, gives it away, buys drugs with it, etc. The CM can help them get a "payee" to help hold the funds and only buy when the person needs, like clothing, food, and shelter

The San Diego woman also works Los Angeles. I saw her for months at the same location. Her kids are NOT starving and she and her husband should be penalized for child abuse and neglect

Sometimes I give money if I feel right about it, but definitely not to everyone.
Right because there are no such things as charities that give away new clothes and shoes to the homeless. It is that kind of ignorance that actually causes this issue. What you ware does not determine if you are homeless or not.
If it looks legit and I can spare the money, then I'll buy them some food instead . Never give money, you don't where it's going to (drugs, alcohol etc).
I did that once. I bought him a piece of pizza. He complained, told me he'd prefer to have the money. That day he killed of my naivity, not my charitable character. I rarely donate anymore.

Accepting a couple of dollars isn’t as bad as the billions the administration steals. Think about that. The government just TAKES THE MONEY.
These people get it through the personal choice of the one handing it over.
Recently saw a young girl at a grocery store with sign: "pregnant with 2 kids, please help." My mind went if you didn't learn your lesson the first two times why would you learn it now. She was so surprised i didn't give her anything let alone barely looked in her direction. That same grocery store was hiring so no sympathy from me.

We've got a guy that always asks for food because he "doesn't have enough money for his mom's medication and is very sick" Ive met his mom a couple of times and she looks just fine. Ive also seen him go to the store and come back with beer. lol.

These are why people are getting sceptical not believing they are real beggars, well me for one, including online ones asking us to donate . This has happening in the case when this guy roughs-up and starved a dog then films them rescuing it, claiming they are a rescuing operation and they need donations to keep helping more poor animales.

Let’s not forget street musician who use amplifiers. I once gave generously to a jazz musician playing a trumpet. Later when I passed by he was still playing…except he was asleep and not moving and the horn was by his side.

I caught a guy doing the music for money bit. It was a violin too connected to a speaker/amplifier so the customers going into the store can hear him better. But I watched him from a distance and could tell it was a recording playing because his movements on the violin were slightly out of synch with the music being projected.
At least he was trying. It took effort to get the equipment to that location.
What's the problem? He's working, and being very imaginative doing so. I give him props for effort.

we have lot of these here walking on the road between the cars - most of them you can straight see that are junkies or alcoholics . But we also had here a whole business of these - some woman just hired ppl to do so - and got millions and was caught. I do not mind help ppl but hell if I am going to give free money to these guys or these who can literally go work.

I used to panhandle as a teen, but I was just honest about it. "You got some change for a beer?" lol. always worked well. Even when I was hungry. I just asked for change for a beer and went straight to McDonalds for a burger.

I felt so idiot. Once I came across with a lady carrying a small baby and claiming she has been robbed and she needed money to travel because she left her children alone in the othet province. I felt touched and thoughtful. In the end, I withdrew my money and gave her. Even so, deep down, I noticed she wasn't grateful. She needed more, claiming she would need food for baby during the travel. I just left her and realized she was faking. Poor child she was carrying.

I remember one time went to the chinese market in my country dubai and there was this chinese old man following me everywhere asking to carry my goods for a small amount of money. I felt sorry for him and decided to give him money without he carry my goods because i did not buy so much goods. When i tried to give him the money he refused aggressively and squeezed my hand and said no no no no.. His hand was so strong that i felt he is going to break my hand. But on the other hand i was so inspired by his high morals and dignity. Such an unforgettable moment. Since then my idea about chinese people is that their self-esteem and dignity is very high

Exactly. I give my money to reputable charities and write it off as a tax deduction. Though it's very little I still can donate to charities. Most of the money goes to other things, that they need a bit more for the charity

the violin scam made me laugh ,,im from scotland were they have bagpipes ,, look them up if you dont know what they are , anyway i was in london england working and came out of a tube station to a man in full scotish highland dress playing bagpipes through an amplifier .. he to was doing the fake playing and just playing a recording ,, bagpipes are a wind instrument they dont need or use an amplifier pluged in like a guitar .. when we asked him for an explination he asked us to kindly "fcuk off" lol a good old scotish frase :)

Hey if they talented enough to fool people like me I'll give them money but there is two things that I don't put up with. #1 when a person portrays a veteran that was injured doing his duty's for the armed service. #2 Portraying a helpless parent with a kid in the act trying to fool us. With some type of cancer that only kids get. That is low even for my expectations. Other than that go for it one legged no arms and eye patch, yet at the end of the day all their limbs and even their eye miraculously appear lol that is worthy of some type of monies depending of my funds at the moment.
