Good Afternoon Dr Mohan, it is probably a small hope, but if you ever worked in the South West of UK for a time in the 70's I might know you? As someone with an IQ in the top 1 percentile of people I can tell you the main reason is we find most people are extremely extremely boring!

It's important to get the logic right I suppose: Smart people may be more likely to have fewer friends, but those with fewer friends aren't necessarily smart (putting aside the controversial question of what smartness is and how it should be measured e.g. think of the ironic subtitle of the film about Enron - "the smartest guys in the room"!). Thank you for your summary. I found it thought-provoking. It must take a lot of work too. I wonder who you'd consider to be "smart".
