- WalesDuro is a 2-day event that passes through Wales from Menai Bridge on the Llyn Peninsula to Cardiff over 2 days.
Organised by The Racing Collective, it is an event in the loosest sense. A route is provided, but no formal organisation. The route has 10 Strava segments set up, with 5 on each day.
There is a campsite that you were able to pre-book, and this had a meal provided. At all other times, it is ridden in a self-supported nature, meaning that you have to carry all your kit with you.
The vast majority of riders are simply there to enjoy the spectacular off-road route, but there are a few - including myself - who aim to be competitive.
Apologies for the sound quality within some of the sections.

Your endurance and drive is outstanding. Respect.
Superb speed/time/video Matt. Great to meet you. Best Wishes James
Thanks James, nice to meet you and ride with you.
Wait, what? A bridge over the ford outside Mach? Chapeau on the Gap descent, looked really rapid!
Ha, yes! Nice bit of local knowledge. It is just out of sight, about 100 metres upstream.
Absolute brilliant video again. Thanks for posting definitely want to do that event. Could you share the link?
Thank you!

The machine, aka Matt Page. Fair play man, not sure I'd attempt some of those descents on a full sus, let alone my gravel bike. 👍
Thank you. Only the gap was really rough, the rest more just fast and fun.
Great video. The gap look brutal on a gravel bike! Did you use tyre inserts?
Thank you. It was pretty rough. I had a 45mm Schwalbe G-One RS front and back, and used a Rimpact insert in the rear only. I would have used one in the front too, but I couldn't find it 🤦♂
@@MattPage thanks Matt. My father & myself are going to do that route but over 3 days! (He’s 72 so don’t want to push him too much! Lol)
@@Welsh-Adventures that is wise. It was a tough route, and both days. Day 1 because of the amount of climbing, and day 2 because of the terrain with the killer hike-a-bike and open moors.
You be careful with that local livestock, knowing your track record.
🤣 Sheep I can handle... horses, or maybe it was a cow...
