I would urge you to see an in-person clinician about the diagnosis if you can. A lot of telehealth companies have been under heavy scrutiny for misdiagnosing ADHD. It’s a real medical condition, but a lot of these companies aren’t in a position to accurately diagnose. This is partly why there’s a meds shortage right now.
As a clinical psych doctoral candidate, I concur with previous concerns expressed and would like to express my own concern. Ive spent 90% of my clinical training conducting psych evaluations for kids and adults who have questions about ADHD, many of the time it is not ADHD. Meeting criteria for this diagnosis is actually more difficult then it seems. I dont know the details of your assessment and the credentials of your provider so feel free to disregard the comment if you have undergone the whole ordeal. Though I would suggest getting a second opinion before trying medication. Having a stimulant medication can do more harm than good. Happy to answer questions if you have any.
Hi, thank you so much for your professional advice. I truly appreciate it and don't take it lightly at all. I've sought out two different opinions already and both had similar conclusions. I'm definitely nervous about the medication prescribed prior (Adderall) so had opted to something less addicting. I'll seek medical advice as I go on and am thinking on a third opinion. Thank you so much for being here and advising not just me but a lot of us who may be in the same boat.
And it is so true about the medication, I have seen what it does to children and know of many parents whom opted for a “natural” approach on the meds(which is a whole research of its own) and they were so glad they stopped with the ADHD meds and tried the other instead. Their kids are adults know and they say they feel ok, and they act normal too. But I guess it depends on how your body really takes it.
Yes thank you! I was kind of shocked to see a diagnosis over one virtual appointment. When I was diagnosed back in 2017 it took 3-4 months and 6 appointments. I was asked to stop dinking/smoking weed, correct my sleep schedule, form good habits for remembering to complete daily tasks,. And work with my talk therapist. I know everyone’s different but I would 100% get a comprehensive evaluation and honestly I thought it was mandatory. My GP recommended the diagnosis (I was shocked, didn’t know much about adhd and hadn’t considered it up until that point) and if I wanted to continue forward I would have to see a specialist before medication could be prescribed. I personally appreciate how comprehensive the diagnosis was and it gave me tons of information on how to manage my symptoms alongside medication and not just rely on a drug
@@hasmeenc.4739no, meds work and don't work for many different people. It's not your place to say meds are bad (when they have such a positive impact on many people's lives and help them so much). Always listen to your doctor first and foremost and not Facebook mom's spreading he said she said misinformation about meds.
Well in my country the procedure is: they ask you some questions and if you agree they will prescribe meds and see hinwirken goes. If you respond positively it means that the diagnosis is confirmed.
I got misdiagnosed with ADHD. When I in fact have complex PTSD from childhood trauma. The symptoms apparently can overlap so much that sometimes the only difference is literally having childhood trauma. C-PTSD is real, and so is ADHD. It's also possible to have both, sooo.
Is it crazy how some people actually ‘want’ to be diagnosed when they just aren’t ? Like see a psychiatrist f2f instead of doing telecounsultation, diagnosis is a serious matter , not about giving yourself a label so you can blame whatever actions on the ‘illness’
that was very fast diagnosis tho. My diagnosis went almost over 15 sessions for 1h. (As an adult) I had to talk about my childhood, my grades, and had to bring my parents to speak with my therapist. My therapist also talked with my ex-boss on the phone etc. After we collected these proofs my therapist that's a specialist in adhd wrote the actual diagnosis. We are trying external solutions first before taking the medication like learning strategies, building a good work environment for me, eating healthy and regular workout (cus I'm the laziest potato ever). Now I have to track my progress and keep a diary. After some months we will take a look at it again.
Sustainable materials and production are so important! Thank you for taking the time to figure out how to do that. I know it took so much more time. Everything looks amazing!
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 16, but didn’t find a medication that worked for me until I was 30. I’m on Vyvanse, which is more affective for adults and those with the “inattentive” type. Keep going until you find what works best for you!
I'm so proud of you for going through with it and finding something that works. So happy you're expressing this to give a glimpse of hope for those who're too scared/nervous to take the first step. It's a long journey, I'm aware... I hope you were kind to yourself along the way xo
It does not make you less of a wonderful person. You are still wonderful. As we grow older, we still bloom our personalities out. Take time, breathe in and just enjoy. You're a beautiful person, please remember that.
Thank you. You're right. The older we get, the more grounded we become within ourselves. Taking the step to understand why we are the way we are can be scary... but worth it.
I hate that you have to tell people about your pricing. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and buy the expensive clothes. Sometimes it's a win sometimes it's a fail. I can tell Everyone that I purchased your sweatshirt and I'm so in love with it!!! It's thick and warm and soft. I definitely want a embroidered one as well but I need a darker color than white. (I'll wait patiently 🥰) I'm so happy and proud of you. Keep up the good work 🥰❤
I got diagnosed with ADHD in the second grade (about 13 years ago) and it is kind of hard at first to get the hang of everything that comes with finding the perfect medication that suits you the best, it is a lot of trial and error to find that one that is best for you. So don't just settle for the first or second one that you are prescribed with, if you are having problems, talk to your doctor about trying a different one. ADHD is definitely easier the longer you are on a medication consistently and I have pretty much just learned to live with it and all of the symptoms at this point in my life. It will get easier, I promise.
I was diagnosed with combination ADHD last year and I was just like you😂 my anxiety was through the roof before getting actually diagnosed with it, and ssoo much made sense after the diagnosis.. especially with my ED. sadly Adderall is the only thing that actually worked for me😫
I work with mental/behavioral health patients at HCMC and would recommend you to seek a second opinion. It's been more than 5 years since I've been watching your videos and believe you may be misdiagnosed. Please don't take Adderall and Concerta until you have received a proper diagnosis due to the side effects and possible chance of relying on the medications.
Hi, thanks for the input. Definitely strayed away from Adderall. I've gotten two opinions already but it won't hurt to get a third, you're right. I'll take it slow and figure it out! Thank you for helping xo
Hey Fei, ur video made me realize i should 100% go through with the diagnosis. I've bailed the 2nd session of ADHD diagnosis multiple times (I have to do it again and again because its been 1-2 or several years plus+ everytime I followup so it lapsed out). It started when I was in college and my prof was the one that told me i may have adhd and to go to doctor to get help so I can do even better at school...years later, Im a grown ass woman still running away from getting diagnosed. They always say I'm borderline at the 1st sessions throughout the years and tell me to come back one more time (and also do bloodwork for iron because they say nowadays, women are just "tired" and lack iron and it don't mean they have ADHD). But everytime they say I come back for 2nd session, I never go back LOL. Because it gave me the power to be in denial and not think I have ADHD (I justify it as "they think it's borderline" sooooooo I don't have it). You do not know how much this video means to me (and I'm pretty sure many others as well).
Since there is a shortage on medication, why not try something different in the meanwhile. I've seen how detrimental the side affects of adderall can be, besides my friends have been misdiagnosed since they also have cptsd. What has worked for my friend are nootropics, it's basically supplements for your brain. There are also mushroom drinks/supplements that aid brain function. Right now I am drinking Everyday dose which is mushroom coffee or matcha with nootropics already mixed in.
So I got diagnosed when I was 19 the first session was with my family doctor on telehealth, I “failed” the test but the nurse practitioner said she thinks I might have it even tho I failed the very limited assessment, she referred me to the in person psychiatrist and after an extensive assessment he was like “yea I def have it (inattentive).” I strongly suggest getting an in person assessment bc they can physically observe u better as well as an hour long. Only bc there’s a lot overlap with mental illness and I was on vyvanse and the side effects are no joke. Besides the annoying diarrhea, the big stuff was the lack of appetite, insomnia (which even off the meds I never fully recovered), and worst of all my blood pressure has spiked and that’s for sure a side effect bc not only did I not have problems before but when I was getting consulted for a breast reduction I was told I need to be off my meds before my surgery bc that could be a problem with my blood pressure. That being said u know u best and I know meds can be helpful they helped me in university but the side effects u really wanna make sure it’s the right diagnosis. My brother has a few mental health illnesses and the wrong meds really fucked him up
I'm INFJ and someone told me that's just a personality type of an adhd person... I was like....say what now?... I zone out of conversations aswell it's so hard to stay focused after a while cause I have a million things going on in my head. I can't focus 🙃 anyone here believe that Infj = adhd?

Everyone is ill in some type of way. I was labeled as retarded in kindergarten just because I was shy and English is my second language. In high school I was diagnosed with depression and prescribed meds but did I take them? No, I’m most definitely ADHD and probably Autistic as well. People are selling their own crew necks for over $70 when they’ve used cheap crew necks which you can get on Amazon from $10-20 so I don’t understand why people are complaining about the prices of your merch.
If they're going to complain about prices that then they don't have to buy. There's a reason why you put the price the way it is. You deserve money for all the work you're doing. Nobody else is doing what you're doing that is making those comments so they don't understand. Keep being honest and keep being u love
I actually got scared about those side effects so had requested to start on something less addictive and easier on the body/brain. Def straying away as much as I need from Adderall.
Turn your life to christ. Only he can set you free. I had adhd, mind tormented, anxiety n more n nothing helped. Only God did n he set me free. Believe it or not but its true.
