You go to church because you are a Christian not because going to church is gonna make you a Christian. And you go to church to grow, fellowship and stay involve as a church family. God didn’t call us to isolate but to consecrate.
Thanks Lecrae for breaking this down. I was not aware of it, but I too went through the "deconstruction" and losing my religion...best decision I made in my 22 years of walking with Christ! Keep inspiring us! I'm a new fan of your truthful lyrics, message, and hip hop music! So so thankful for Christian hip hop music and artist!
Just a reminder and caution: As believers, our theology & worldview must always be filtered through Scripture, and not through our personal opinions or preferences. ----- Stay in God's Word, my friends.
What about in scripture where Paul says a women should not teach a man. Now everyone can say that’s absolutely wrong and an error in scripture simply for the fact that God has raised up many strong powerful godly women who are leaders in the church so there are absolutely errors in scripture and you need to exercise discernment when reading the Bible!
You should always read the Bible and discrern what it says because many things that are “taught” are actually false. Please examine it and not just believe what the Bible says and take it word for word or believe what it says because someone is telling you it is right.
Paul did not add a new commandment that women should not teach. Yahweh told women to teach in the torah, Mariam, deborah, lydia, etc. The context is the women of that church who were making g a racket in those days were to keep silent. Not that women cannot teach. The spirit is calling women to teach and God commanded women to teach their children, including sons, his ways in the scriptures. The bible has been mistranslated in english and people are being lied to, the law was not done away with, Paul was speaking of the dogma of the Pharisees, not God's law. Please seek the spirit and be open to the truth, not man's teachings.
Man bro you're music got me through as a young man in his 20s back in the early 2000's now I'm 40 barely coming back to listening to Christian music and seeking God after a 14 year detour. Very glad to see you're still here and have beat your own struggles. Salute !!
100% agree with you, church isnt just going to the building and worshiping on Sunday morning... it's simply the body of believers that you're in community with
I feel so seen. I’m in a phase of deconstruction right now and your story was so validating for me as my story with it was similar. I’m sorry not everyone understands what are trying to communicate but I see you!!!
It's good to hear your explanation and your side of the story. Deconstruction of faith shouldn't be synonymous with walking away from Christ. I think we should test ourselves that we actually believe what we believe, and we are indeed on the path to the narrow gate.
@@rosemarietolentino3218 The book also says the disabled and unclean shouldn't be allowed to enter a church. It also says menstruating women are unclean and should be separated from society until it's over. It also says to take the virgin women and children of lost battles as sex slaves. Ignoring the broken moral compass that is the Bible, which books were added, removed, or even added again changed many times over until they settled on the texts we have today. It seems history has broke your rule many times over. Who's to say that verse is even relevant at this point?
Easier said than done. If you truly take the time to deconstruct she educate yourself outside the bias of the church and it's doctrine, It would take a lot of willpower, or at least willful ignorance, to examine all of the inaccuracies and contradictions within the religion and choose to still believe there is truth in the other parts we like.
Thanks for sharing this brother! A song I wrote about the church goes “she’s a filthy mess right now, but He’ll clean her dress somehow”. He’s coming back for a bride without spot or wrinkle, and many will be purified, refined and made white before He returns. Let’s call it… Reconstruction. I’ve been listening to you off and on for years… It hasn’t been easy for me either, and glad you are still in the faith. God bless.
I'm a 62 year old black man. I'm a Christian. I don't really like rap or hip hop , but I always liked your message in your music. It's powerful. You are talented , intelligent, and charismatic. I hope you keep sending God's word through your music. The world needs it now more than ever . 🙏 ( and I liked and subscribed 🙂)
I'm here after hearing and listening attentively to your song "Deconstruction". I've heard it played on Pandora several times but it hit differently tonight. It's like God gave me understanding about some things through the lyrics. I can so relate to your story and I appreciate you for wrapping it up the way you did. Wow! I'm happy for you and proud of you for enlightening the believers on this topic.
Rev. Dr. King on the subject almost 60 years ago: "There was a time when the church was very powerful--in the time when the early Christians rejoiced at being deemed worthy to suffer for what they believed. In those days the church was not merely a thermometer that recorded the ideas and principles of popular opinion; it was a thermostat that transformed the mores of society. Whenever the early Christians entered a town, the people in power became disturbed and immediately sought to convict the Christians for being "disturbers of the peace" and "outside agitators."' But the Christians pressed on, in the conviction that they were "a colony of heaven," called to obey God rather than man. Small in number, they were big in commitment. They were too God-intoxicated to be "astronomically intimidated." By their effort and example they brought an end to such ancient evils as infanticide and gladiatorial contests. Things are different now. So often the contemporary church is a weak, ineffectual voice with an uncertain sound. So often it is an arch defender of the status quo. Far from being disturbed by the presence of the church, the power structure of the average community is consoled by the church's silent--and often even vocal--sanction of things as they are. But the judgment of God is upon the church as never before. If today's church does not recapture the sacrificial spirit of the early church, it will lose its authenticity, forfeit the loyalty of millions, and be dismissed as an irrelevant social club with no meaning for the twentieth century. Every day I meet young people whose disappointment with the church has turned into outright disgust. Perhaps I have once again been too optimistic. Is organized religion too inextricably bound to the status quo to save our nation and the world? Perhaps I must turn my faith to the inner spiritual church, the church within the church, as the true ekklesia and the hope of the world..."
@@AllSven Maybe you are this easily distracted from the truth sitting in front of you, but I am not. Read his sermons and speeches. They are very good. If you find yourself tempted to worship the man as a god, then ground yourself by meditating on whatever flaws you may be able to find in him. But if a man speaks the truth and you look for faults in him as an excuse not to listen, you are a fool.
I think there’s a major difference between “deconstructing” and unlearning bad theology and traditions. The idea is to get back to the Word of God and root everything you believe in the Bible. Deconstruction too often leads to throwing out the Word or twisting it to make it easier to believe. This is what happened during the Protestant Reformation. They did not deconstruct, but they re-formed. They reformed the Church from the bad theology of Catholicism and rooted their beliefs in the Bible instead of tradition. So whenever we are questioning things about what we believe, let’s think re-form and not de-construct
@@rodneyb6334 Thanks bro. Too many Christians want to claim this word “deconstruction,” not knowing that they are really reforming by getting back to the Word. Deconstruction’s path is only to tear down
@@austinhendel1569 you are point my brother keep speaking the truth. Thank the Lord we are hearing the Holy Spirit because like you said the Lord bless is drawing all who truly know Him to a faith and relationship with Him that is truly based on HIM and The Word of God
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking our own “ASSEMBLY TOGETHER”, as is the habit of some, but “ENCOURAGING” one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. I would say this versus very clearly talking about church, and I’m not talking about a building I’m talking about the church\ people. And why does it say for us to go to church or I should say “assembly together”? To encourage one another all the more as we see the day drawing near. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
The problem is silly people act like we can gather together anywhere other than a building or something. As long as you're gathering together somewhere and following biblical parameters laid out for the church then fine. But it's consistent gathering, edifying, encouraging, preaching and teaching of the word... Deconstruction is just an excuse to apostatize
I actually chose to deconstruct bc I felt my relationship with God was so beautiful that there had to be more to experience with God in an unconventional way. It's been very rough but also very expansive and beautiful. Currently in the reconstructive phase...🙏🏽
Stay close to God and he will provide for those who love him. And if you would like to learn what God's full message is about tune into Shepherd's Chapel and hear it chapter by chapter and verse by verse and you will be even more blessed.
@classycheeks4352 There is no good reason to "deconstruct" your relationship with the Lord. If your relationship with Him is already beautiful then hold it near to your heart and cherish it.
Lacrae I respect what you are trying to do for people no church in awhile. but bro..I was hurt by the church also, and I told myself I will have a relationship alone with Jesus without going to church. I was so wrong!!!! The longer you stay disconnected and away from the congregation..the more you are under attack and sliding back into worldy behavior because this is a spiritual battle more than physical. we have to learn to forgive what people in the church have did to us and get back to God's ministries.
I feel like Christians nowadays are too caught up in their feelings. We're supposed to be following Jesus and putting our trust in Him, not people. Where I see most of the "deconstruction" is when people have bad experiences with other people that they placed a certain high expectation on. They put their faith and salvation in man's hands rather than having a relationship with God for themselves. Those people then get in their feelings and say that since those people didn't behave the way they thought they should, God must not be real, or that churches can't be trusted, not realizing that it's man's fault, not God's. That's why the Bible says not to put trust in man, because when we do that, we begin to idolize those people and think they will never stumble, when in reality, they're just as messed up as everyone else. If the church is corrupt or has problems, talk to the pastor about it. Don't be a person who complains about a problem but does nothing to fix it. If those people aren't receptive, give your regards, dust your feet off, and find another church. This is an interesting yet sad topic...I pray that anyone struggling in their faith will get to know God better and begin to pit their trust in Him💯
I think it's the love of sin and etc. Remember the parable of the sower as well. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. John 3:16-21 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop-a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.” The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Matthew 13:1-23
I think this was dope. I honestly believe that as a black Christian "deconstruction" is very common because of some of our common experiences in this country, but understanding that God's Grace is sufficient and that even when we give up on God, he never gives up on us our process of reconstruction can begin. I am currently going through the "reconstruction" of my faith and it truly feels like a renaissance.
Friend, why do you even mention your race? whether you’re black or white, everybody struggles in this country. You need to stop feeling sorry for yourself, get rid of the victim mentality, you are beyond blessed brother, and so is lecrae, he’s rich, famous, in Walmart commercials, and he’s still complaining about being oppressed? Friend it’s like that for every race.
Love youuuu Lecrae. I respect your genuineness and not just the religious forgiveness concept. Which christians tend to do on a conceptual and logical level but not in the heart. I see you working things out in your heart and I respect that .
I am there brother! After pastoring and helping to lead and building traditional church institutions for the last 14+ years, I am so ready for change. At this moment, I would be perfectly content to never be incorporated back into corporate religion that I was raised in. That might be the burnout and fatigue talking, yet it's sincere. But, hey, I get it, that you don't get it, if you don't get it. During this live streaming period during the COVID pandemic, I honestly don't know how many times I have said, that, "the building is not the Church." Thanks for sharing and God bless.
I am glad Lecrae, is sharing his journey. Many years ago my wife and I had to "deconstruct and reconstruct" our spiritual journey due to the "Prosperity" movement. What I want to share is a little long but I feel it is needed. Let's not get caught up on the words "Deconstruct /Reconstruct", but hear the intent and meaning. Jesus said; to be transformed by the renewing our minds, to take up our cross daily, to be discerning.… just to mention a few on going processes he commands us as believers to do. Let's keep things in perspective. Christ came to deconstruct the spiritual and religious constructs that man and the devil put in place. Jesus told the woman at the well and to us that; there is a change that will and is currently taking place, that worship/serving God will no longer be in a building or a certain place. He was getting her and us to focus our emphasis on the heart and people not in a building or place. Holy Spirit want us to have an ongoing assessment of our heart and how we are engaging in the culture and where our priorities are. The scriptures give the Believers a blueprint of how to fellowship, having key central locations in order to organize, to build, to encourage, gather funds & supplies in order to meet needs in the Body of Christ (B.O.D) and those in the community. The leadership in the churches have minimized from the emphasis of fellowshipping in homes, and in the community as Christ demonstrated. Instead, the emphasis has been over the centuries, for believers and non- believers come to the building. It is now problematic! because, the (B.O.C) Body of Christ has adopted a format and followed the pattern of the world religions in which I believe Holy Spirit had been and is revealing in these days how far off track we've become. Covid, was bad in so so many ways! It was also a eye-opener regarding how the church, society and the world had to re-evaluate the way things were getting done. Covid, has shown society that the construct of working within the confined four walls is not the main emphasis nor the only viable means of work anymore. Many now see working remotely from home and as entrepreneurs is more mainstream now and more pactful. Many companies have close their brick and mortar to change for better. Businesses now, have to reconstruct their way of doing things. It is the same premise regarding the traditional religious structure for the (B.O.C.) in which, change is needed. Will it be difficult yes! Because church leaders and buildings got dependent on people in the pews and emphasis on coming to the church building. But God can bring the change re-structure and renewal needed! Remember, The Church aka (The Body of Christ) is different from the church building and religious structures that we go to. So, if we see them as one in the same, then we are already so off bases. This is not an isolated situation, many Christians and non- Christians feel the same way about the religious church construct. They and I see that there has been a disconnect/detachment from the religious church format. Many true seekers of God and Born Again believers are not at all or very hesitant about returning to the aka (church) building. I spoke to many that said how relieved they were from the pressure they felt by going to the building when the churches had to shut down for the pandemic. It doesn't have anything to do with their love for Christ, or wanting to be alone, or from a medical condition like being bed restricted or a social interpersonal aspect like being an introvert. Those things have their part in this as well! What I want to point out is that, historical the church structure and leaders have placed high emphasis on the building and all those internal things surrounding it. And now a pandemic came and has bring to light where the heart or emphasis really is! This has always been an issue for churches to keep people in the buildings. It is still going on today. It is having a major impact on churches local and world wide. Please keep in mind, the modern day worship and fellowship has it's origin based after (The Roman Church) not the examples of Christ, the Apostles or the 1st century believers. Here is where the rubber meets the road! Those who are comfortable with the way "Traditional church" has been operating are pushing to maintain and build back up the building. And the we have those who see it from the Biblical example are going in different directions. So... change has started and a Spiritual de-construction and re-construction is needed. The solution and emphasis is not to refill the pews, or to get things back where they were before Covid. Nor is it to abandon all the church buildings and go strictly home and outside fellowships. We must find ways to be impactful in the community, get people connected with God in a real authentic way, meet them where they are on the job, at home, small groups, and in the community. We also need to have a central place to collectively worship, encourage and a storehouse. All while we are in the fields highway and byways. Ultimately getting to a place of a more biblical pattern as Holy Spirit leads.
@glover5589 you admit that the church building comes from the Roman Catholic Church but still cannot reject it. Don’t be afraid to say it, these buildings are not from the Lord and are unnecessary. They block people from seeing the Lord.
This is the first of your videos I've ever seen, and now I'm a new subscriber. :) I went through this from early 1988 until the end of my first year of Bible college in March 1989. On 30 March 1989 I rededicated my life to God and to serving and loving and worshipping and following Him, and haven't looked back. I still have times of re-examining things from time to time, mainly just to check on doctrine to make sure I have it right, or something else, but I will never walk away, no matter what. I've had some really, really tough times, and people have walked away for much less than some of the things I've gone through. I'm praying for those who're going through this process right now, as well as who have in the past but walked away, and pray that they would return to the Lord or would stick with it, no matter what.
I like your song Beautiful Feet and think it addresses the church issue very succinctly. Hebrews says not to stop meeting together, and when you mention wrestling with some churches, I felt that.
May my Mighty Lord and Savior Jesus Christ always bless you my brother. Thank you for your honesty in regards to the “Americanization” of the Christian faith. We can only trust our Lord Jesus Christ. We must love others and ourselves. The church is the body and fellowship of believers- that’s important. Yet, to spend time alone with our Lord Jesus- especially in prayer and reading his Word is even more important. God bless you my brother, Lecrae. 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾✝️💖
Being a part of a local Church that meets at a building is a great process when you find a shepherd who preaches truth. You have the opportunity to worship corporately, pray corporately, hearing regular preaching of the word from someone who isn't going to give you confirmation bias of your own opinions, and you are forced to meet other people who need you. I noticed when a lot of people "leave" the Church meeting behind, they focus on themselves and don't serve the body of Christ too much. They certainly tend not to be held accountable in several serious ways as their Christian friends who also don't attend are equally comfortable in not holding each other accountable. Oftentimes deconstruction is a front for a selfish endeavor so you don't have to spend the with people you aren't exactly like in a system that isn't exactly what you want. Not every time, but probably most times it has some real negative implications. I wouldn't use that word or leave the Church, I would seek out truth while staying connected to a local regular meeting and be honest with them about my questions. Which is precisely what I did when I was struggling to grow in my faith and replace manmade ideas with God's original plans. That's a good defense against the echo chamber issue. I think your attempt to disregard the regular meeting of the Assembly was pretty weak from a scholarly perspective too. Glad to see you have love for God though buddy, keep trying to shine light. Been blessed by so much of your music when I was younger and love ya dearly. Keep thinking through this issue, and allow the Lord to move you through prayer and advice from people who are regularly serving the body of Christ. Consider the story of Apollos in Acts, perhaps you could use some of this.
Honing your faith is a wonderful thing wonderful thing. You always have to make sure the sure that you are not picking and choosing what parts of The Bible you like. You have to make sure that you recognize about sin and grace equally. You either fully turn your life over to God and make him number one or you don't. Now how that will manifest itself in your life may be different for each person but if you put anything before God Realize that is the true thing you're worshiping.
So in this age of Christianity, where do the body of Christ assemble? They assemble at a church facility. So the scripture means exactly what it says, do not forsake the assembly. Not going to church is forsaking the assembly. Let’s keep it 💯. This half message that he’s presenting is misleading to younger Christians. If you see a problem in the Church, then take some courage and start speaking up. Don’t leave because that’s not the answer. We live in a time of selfishness, thinking only about ourselves. We don’t go to church so we can be edified solely, but that we can encourage and edify our brethren. What did Paul say in Romans 1:11-12? “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong, that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” The spiritual gift he was referring to was mutual encouragement in the faith. You not doing that when you are forsaking the assembly. Christians need to study the word and stop trying to be friends of this world. We are in a sad place in our faith here in America. I’m praying for a revival and a returning to what we loved at the beginning🙏🏽
I agree he’s leading people in the wrong direction and he will be accountable in front of god all mighty on that day, so I hope you’re view changes lacre. I use to look up to you but I’m deconstructing away from you’re music and videos.
Been thinking about this the past couple of weeks. Church is much bigger than the Sunday service. It’s people coming together around a table and encouraging one another in the Holy Spirit, welcoming and loving on strangers and outcasts. It’s the original “safe space” where all are welcome without judgement.
Never loose your faith even if your loosing yourself and the world is loosing itself. Just never loose your faith .... church, faith, the gospel and Jesus goes beyond the 4 walls of a building. It's important that no matter what church or walk of life always keep it Christ centered. I left a church that wasn't for me and found one that was more what I felt the holy spirit was sending me. Like you said lose your religion but find and keep your faith.
God bless lecrae you are bang on here. Jesus is not religion yo! He has been misrepresented so horribly by so many 'christians' and this has kept countless millions from knowing who Jesus really is man !
Deconstruct meaning to examine (something, such as a work of literature) using the methods of Deconstruction. 2: to take apart or examine (something) in order to reveal the basis or composition often with the intention of exposing biases, flaws, or inconsistencies
Amen 🙏🏽 Also, I don’t attend church, I gather house to house with believers and spread the Gospel. But Lacrae is doing what he accuses the church of, using spiritual things for monetary gain. He deconstructed to reconstruct and advertises it here to get money through his books and patreon. This is a hypocritical notion. Brethren, repent be baptized in the Name of Yehoshua HaMoshiach and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 2:38. Don’t fall for church lies and those trying to gain from you, gather with saints, preach the Gospel and be ready for the return of the Lord!!
I have had mental health issues and still following Jesus. I have been deconstructing my faith. Yesterday I have everything to Jesus God you are amazing protect anyone who is trying to honor you but also looking to you to heal then from mental health issues anxiety panic attacks. Dad be with them and myself. God we don't wanna live in mental health trama for life I believe in miracles. Poor out your healing to those who need it including myself an any situation. Amen
I’ve been struggling with my faith lately and your story has really helped me. The merging of Christianity and trumpism, christians lacking empathy for others during the pandemic, Christians being hesitant to stand against racism and many other issues has really really bothered me… to the point of depression at times. It feels like up is down and down is up, and almost feels like I’m grieving the faith community I thought I knew. I’m thankful that my church is a healthy church, but they don’t often talk about these issues directly. It feels like the church is falling down around us, but we are not discussing anything. Anyone else experiencing any of this? I’m starting to doubt a lot more, and I’d love some encouragement if anyone’s got any. @Lecrae thanks for sharing your story. It’s helping to keep me in the game right now.
The Word of God is our foundation. Christians say and do a lot of unbiblical things. Don't let that discourage you. Also keep in mind that the world always repeats the lies of the enemy and twists the meaning of things, so it may seem like they're against racism (BLM), but really they're making it worse, and many Christians just aren't falling for it. The pandemic was more about a grab for power and wealth, taking control, and to disrupt normal society so that we feel like things are upside down and we look to worldly authority for help instead of God. Again, many Christians saw what was going on and didn't buy into the fear mongering and propaganda. It's better to turn off the TV and spend more time in God's Word and caring for the people around you.
I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say BUT I hope you can understand that some people take a closer look at the bible (its content, it's genesis...)and this world and come to the conclusion that they're not the creation of an omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent god.
Love it! There is nothing wrong with Deconstruction. I think that I’m order for us boil the faith down to its purest form through the word, we have to skim off the transitions that are attached to them with. Nothing wrong with traditions but we need to separate them from the word
I’ve never been about the structures of church that men have built because I saw what it was doing to people… making people dependent on structures rather than Jesus… and all kinds of other mess…I didn’t call my process “deconstruction”. I was just recognizing the difference between what God had intended for church vs what man had adopted where the end result was denominationalism or institutionalized loyalty… and Instead I began placing much greater value on authentic relationships where the pursuit of Jesus within those relationships were the emphasis. Those were years I grew the most in the Lord because I wasn’t just warming a seat each week but an active “member” of the body of Messiah. We dug into the Word together, worshiped together, broke bread together, hashed out our differences of belief together, loved one another through all kinds of difficulties… I found a much better expression of Gods heart for the church. It was never about walking away from Jesus but about loosing myself from the external trappings of religious traditions that had nothing to do with Jesus.
Thank you so much Lecrae!!! I’d been feeling guilty for not wanting to go back to a physical church and felt like if my family knew I wasn’t going every Sunday they’d look down on me, even though we watch someone every week! Thank you so much 💛
Hey homie…. I don’t think that’s what Lecrae was saying. Although the building is not the church, the people are. If you search the “one another’s in the Bible” you will get a list of how the word of God teaches us to serve, love, build up, etc.… One another. One of the reasons why the Bible says not to forsake the fellowship, as another person here commented on Hebrews 10. Although watching a sermon online can be great, depending on who you’re watching, ha ha, but that can be a supplement, but not the main thing. Let me know if you wanna chop it up more about this, I’d love to without any judgment
The New Testament was written in Greek. The Greek word for church is "ecclesia" which carries the meaning of an assembly or gathering. The early church gathered around the word, and fellowship (including the Lord's Table and breaking of bread together) and they sang psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Was the emphasis on the specific structure that they gathered in? No. But they gathered and did so regularly and often. The church is referred to as the Body of Christ and when we gather as a local church we become visible to the community and world around us. If you can gather for a concert, sporting event, movie, or party, how much more should you gather with God's people to worship Him? So find a local church and "assemble" with them.
Hey, Lecrae I feel the same way right now. I feel like it is more about money than the service now. Honestly I wanna find a place that is REAL. Also at the same time I want the pastor there to use the scripture in context.
Deconstruction of anyone's faith is to be encouraged, if your faith is controlling you by dogmas, doctrines AND fear, if it doesn't hold up to your intelligence logic, conscience & inner guidance, it's vital for you to question the beliefs. I deconstructed from Christianity 30 years back and found eastern religion & philosophy more suitable for my evolution as a spiritual being!🙏🙏
I personally don't like reading the Bible anymore, to me bible is full of too much dogmas & doctrines, it depicts an jealous angry God, especially the old testament! I had to decostruct as my experience of God is very different, pure love!
@@animalsarefriends4342 You’re correct in saying he’s and angry and jealous God. He’s angry that his creations continues to sin and he’s jealous over the little things we make more important than him. That same God who can kill us in any moment chooses to hold back his wrath. That same God sent his son to die for us. I’m sorry this world or any other religion cannot replicate that kind of love. People need to stop going after what makes them feel good and go after truth.
Christianity made me a more anxious and angry person. I spent alot of time obsessing about hell and how my family will go there. It's a mindvirus that drains all your joy, and happiness and turns you into a brainwashed zealot.
The confusion about the word deconstruction is how it is being used. Some people are reassesing their faith as it souonds like Lecrae did and some are dismantling their faith as in the true definition of deconstructing with no plans on reconstructing it. They mean that they are leaving the Faith altogether. I think we need to be careful to not go with the trends of the world for any reason because it begins to blur the lines and weaker Christians may get lost in translation.
Religious freedom is the best thing I have ever experienced! Live for the individual! And you will see tomorrow! Living others only for not to see a sun rise now or set later. Look for the moon! Look at the stars.
Where two or three gather in my name am in the midst, doesn't matter if you do in your house with your family or with neighbor or in a building. All a church, whether small or big. Your body is temple of the lord.
When I imagine Jesus having church I never pictured it in a building. I believe You are the church, your the body of Christ. So many Christians misrepresent the body of Christ that we all go through deconstruction. however not everyone can reconstruct themselves and continue to TRUST IN GOD. After losing faith in the church and other believers. Some people will Stop believing in God because of it. That's why having a personal relationship with God is the best thing you can do for yourself. His unconditional love will get you through any storm.
Thank you Lecrae. Many are deconstructing after the Church’s response, or lack of, to the George Floyd incident and other social justice issues that Covid has pronounced. Any insight on this for those who are in this space?
There hasn’t been a large response because BLM is a self-proclaimed anti-Jesus, anti-family unit, marxist organization. They used witches and warlocks at protests as well. Bibles were burned too
Heb. 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;..... KJV Forsaking: Greek Egkataleipo- Strongs: to leave behind... Thayer Definition: abandon, desert... Assembling: Episunagoge- Strongs: a complete collection; a Christian meeting for worship:- assembling (gathering) together. Thayer Definition: a gathering together in one place. In the context of the scripture we are to meet together in one place to worship God and speak His word. We are encouraged to not forsake assembling as some do. Sadly today many do and have all kinds of excuses. We are not to make excuses but pray and ask God to send us to a place He wants us to go. Scripture says God sets the members in the body as it pleases Him but many go where it pleases them and when things get messy because of their choices they complain and blame God and everyone else. We must obey what He says.
There are different ways to do that, and sometimes people need a break for some reason or other. Abandonment is a permanent thing "Deconstruction" seems to be more of a step back to right oneself before going back in
@@newpageindesc8998 well then right yourself find out by the Lord where to go and go. Jesus said shake the dust off and go to the next city, preach the kingdom. Matt. 13 says the angels will remove out of His Kingdom all who do iniquity. He knows theres evil in the church, sin in the church, liars backbiters wrongdoers in the church( His Kingdom). Go to church cause He says so, take up our cross deny ourselves and follow Him. He never left cause His people are there, we must follow not run away for months and years. We must dust ourselves off, lick our wounds and go back in for Him. We are soldiers not AWOL without His permission. Who cares what people say, He didn't. He was about His Fathers business. When the apostles were thrown in prison for being about His business the angel set them free and even when they were warned nit to preach in His name they went right back in. He never left His church, even when we leave He remained.
Man, this video really hit me because it described my walk since January 2017. I didn't even know that I had deconstructed my faith, because I didn't call it that at the time. What Lecrae was describing, as the church structure he walked away from, was a facet of Christian Nationalism. I can say wholeheartedly that I waled away from the Christian Nationalist church, and will not set foot in another one. The good news is that there are plenty of Christian churches that are NOT Christian Nationalist churches.
I understand the wanting to separate out the religious dogma, false teachings, hypocrisy, and favoritism. But in my experience many people in the church have actually taken that step towards a real relationship with Jesus Christ His love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness, as their foundation. And fruit of the Spirit evidenced, the beatitudes also. Leading them to kindness, compassion, long suffering, repentance. Self control. And they are flowing with the Holy Spirit using God given gifts and talents. To edify, teach, preach, prophecy, be charitable, and sharpen each other. In times like this people like me need to not forsake the gathering of ourselves. Uncertain times bring about a sense of detachment and loneliness in our struggle. Where 2 or more are gathered in Jesus name the Spirit of God can be felt in their midst. Our voices create a choir of praise and worship.. A couple high school guys who don't share my exact struggle came clear across the room to put their arms around me and pray for me it was very meaningful and moving. A power of connection and belonging. Sharing in each other's burdens where you can't hide your tears or groaning behind a device when you feel the pressure and conviction, those who moved to help me also got blessed out of it. So many need the compassion from the people who are full of joy and peace the added comfort, and those who are not stressed currently who can provide a service to God by being a willing vessel to speak into peoples lives and give the encouragement, they benefit from this fellowship also. and sometimes spiritual warfare condemnation and fear of rejection. Will keep you bound in the house. when we are told to not forsake our gatherings. God has a will and purpose for that.. I am sure this may not be the case for every church. Glory to God for opening hearts to give and receive love and support and advice. For workers with a word in season who are sowing and watering. And allowing God to give the increase. If I am off base at all it wouldn't be the first time. Feel free to correct me This is my experience though

It's good to hear your explanation and your side of the story. Deconstruction of faith shouldn't be synonymous with walking away from Christ. I think we should test ourselves that we actually believe what we believe, and we are indeed on the path to the narrow gate.
Deconstruct to reconstruct. I'm in that camp, too. 🙌
It does say in the Bible what will happen if you add or take away from the Bible! More is expected of someone who teaches!

Easier said than done. Rev. Dr. King on the subject almost 60 years ago:
"There was a time when the church was very powerful--in the time when the early Christians rejoiced at being deemed worthy to suffer for what they believed.
Did he have any speeches about his mistresses?
@@AllSven Maybe you are this easily distracted from the truth sitting in front of you, but I am not. Read his sermons and speeches. They are very good.
If you find yourself tempted to worship the man as a god, then ground yourself by meditating on whatever flaws you may be able to find in him. But if a man speaks the truth and you look for faults in him as an excuse not to listen, you are a fool.
Just because a church is bad doesn’t make all churches or God bad. People gotta understand it’s about Christ

Not forsaking our own “ASSEMBLY TOGETHER”, as is the habit of some, but “ENCOURAGING” one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Well said dear
This is an interesting yet sad topic...I pray that anyone struggling in their faith will get to know God better and begin to pit their trust in Him💯
The absolute truth…thank you brother
It's called apostasy.
Yo i fw the part about putting faith in god vs man.
You nailed it.
John 3:16-21
That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Matthew 13:1-23
I think this was dope. I honestly believe that as a black Christian "deconstruction" is very common because of some of our common experiences in this country, but understanding that God's Grace is sufficient and that even when we give up on God, he never gives up on us our process of reconstruction can begin. I am currently going through the "reconstruction" of my faith and it truly feels like a renaissance.

“Assembling of yourselves together” means meeting in a certain place.
Being Black and in this space can be isolating. Thank you for making space for such an important conversation.

I went through this from early 1988 until the end of my first year of Bible college in March 1989.
Thanks that you are praying for me. In return I will do the thinking for you. ;-)
“I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong, that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.”
The spiritual gift he was referring to was mutual encouragement in the faith. You not doing that when you are forsaking the assembly. Christians need to study the word and stop trying to be friends of this world. We are in a sad place in our faith here in America. I’m praying for a revival and a returning to what we loved at the beginning🙏🏽
Very good response
Spot on. What a shame that Lecrae is on the first step to apostasy.
They assembled on the sabbath and other holy days.
I agree he’s leading people in the wrong direction and he will be accountable in front of god all mighty on that day, so I hope you’re view changes lacre. I use to look up to you but I’m deconstructing away from you’re music and videos.
I feel it… it’s encouraging to hear “keep Jesus at the center”… I ain’t gon lie I still be slappin Real Talk, After the music Stops etc
Deconstruction, in my opinion, always brings us back to truth. And we should always be evaluating our relationship with God.
Wow Awesome and soooooo True! To God be The Glory! Holy Spirit have your way on RUclips and everywhere else in JESUS MIGHTY NAME
Amen brother. Get back to Jesus. One word GRACE.
“Build on the foundation that is Christ” that is key!
God bless lecrae you are bang on here.
Jesus is not religion yo!
He has been misrepresented so horribly by so many 'christians' and this has kept countless millions from knowing who Jesus really is man !
Deconstruct meaning
to examine (something, such as a work of literature) using the methods of Deconstruction.
2: to take apart or examine (something) in order to reveal the basis or composition often with the intention of exposing biases, flaws, or inconsistencies
Well, 1 year later and your at 1.05m congrats my man. Keep Climbing. Keep Preaching Brotha!
Thank you for sharing. This was interesting however it didn't speak to any of the reasons that I walked away. Good luck on your journey
thank you so much for speaking on this topic! I'm so encouraged. :)
Okay bro. We need to fellowship with the brethren not only on Sundays but every day.
this is some real meta modern stuff man love you lecrae man thank u !!!
I Deconstructed Hip Hop and NEVER came back to it!!! People be careful with Deconstructing
😆😆
cool story bro
🤭🤭
Yes, well said. 100%
Amen
You hit that milli ahhhhh,, hallelujah’s brotha 💪🏾🙏🏾🙏🏻🙏
Thanks for your intro to deconstruction. Different from leaving the faith.
Thank you brother for not leaving the faith so many people have been persuaded to do so, but I just want to say thank you and ma❤y godbless you
I’ve been struggling with my faith lately and your story has really helped me.
Reading The Message translation has been helping me during my deconstruction process.
Love the honesty……that’s beautiful and growth.
There is never a reason to leave the faith every time someone stops believing it’s not because of God or other Christians it’s because of you yourself
I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say BUT I hope you can understand that some people take a closer look at the bible (its content, it's genesis...)and this world and come to the conclusion that they're not the creation of an omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent god.
@@noname-dw9te it’s not the Bible or God that makes people not Christians it’s you the person

@@noname-dw9te sorry, looks like people aren't taking your concerns seriously, and i know that can be super frustrating
Love it! There is nothing wrong with Deconstruction. I think that I’m order for us boil the faith down to its purest form through the word, we have to skim off the transitions that are attached to them with. Nothing wrong with traditions but we need to separate them from the word
Classic topic shout out to you Lecrae brother you are a inspiration fasho brother 🙏✊👌
Amen! Appreciate this.
100 million let’s gooooo
Thank you for this! SO many believers need to look at what they believe and get back to the Word.
Thank you so much Lecrae!!! I’d been feeling guilty for not wanting to go back to a physical church and felt like if my family knew I wasn’t going every Sunday they’d look down on me, even though we watch someone every week! Thank you so much 💛
Find God
Hebrews 10:25…not throwing stones but it is Biblical to assemble together.
You need to go to church though... do not forsake the assembly. It’s a command. Not a recommendation
Great word bro! On point!
Deconstruction of anyone's faith is to be encouraged, if your faith is controlling you by dogmas, doctrines AND fear, if it doesn't hold up to your intelligence logic, conscience & inner guidance, it's vital for you to question the beliefs. I deconstructed from Christianity 30 years back and found eastern religion & philosophy more suitable for my evolution as a spiritual being!🙏🙏
How so? The Bible doesn't talk about "Deconstructing your Faith". You Faith will never hold up to YOUR Intelligence & Logic.
I personally don't like reading the Bible anymore, to me bible is full of too much dogmas & doctrines, it depicts an jealous angry God, especially the old testament! I had to decostruct as my experience of God is very different, pure love!
@@animalsarefriends4342 so you chose feelings over truth?
Amen Lecrae. God bless.
Thank you, Lecrae.
Subscribed. Angels cometh!
Religious freedom is the best thing I have ever experienced! Live for the individual! And you will see tomorrow! Living others only for not to see a sun rise now or set later. Look for the moon! Look at the stars.
On point! I've always said the biggest problem in the Christian faith is "Religion" itself.
I loved your concert yesterday ❤❤❤
Straight to the point and much needed. 👏
Respect for even speaking about this. So often people brush this topic under the rug. Thank you for shedding light on it! 🙏
Where two or three gather in my name am in the midst, doesn't matter if you do in your house with your family or with neighbor or in a building. All a church, whether small or big. Your body is temple of the lord.

Awesome man
When I imagine Jesus having church I never pictured it in a building.
I use to be an orthodox Christian but now I am a messianic Christian
Thank you Lecrae. Many are deconstructing after the Church’s response, or lack of, to the George Floyd incident and other social justice issues that Covid has pronounced. Any insight on this for those who are in this space?
There hasn’t been a large response because BLM is a self-proclaimed anti-Jesus, anti-family unit, marxist organization. They used witches and warlocks at protests as well. Bibles were burned too
I totally agree Yolanda. Their response really opened my eyes to somethings.
@Young D-FLY You do know that most blk Christians support the slogan but not the organization. 🤔

Repent and turn back to Jesus. I pray that you do
Heb. 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;..... KJV
Forsaking: Greek Egkataleipo- Strongs: to leave behind...
Abandonment is a permanent thing
"Deconstruction" seems to be more of a step back to right oneself before going back in
@@newpageindesc8998 well then right yourself find out by the Lord where to go and go.
Spot on brother!
Don’t listen to the haters, my brother in Christ! This is such an important topic.
