I recall he was a down to earth guy who asked me questions, curious to know me better in the few minutes of interaction we had. He responded to Kendrick, without presumption, in a humble way, Kendrick said "tough love results in violence" he said "love is patience", Kendrick vented and wondered what Lecrae would do and he replied practically, I'm as sinful as everyone the others, how can I judge?!, but at the same time he understood Dot's criticisms about the industry, and agrees, but in an intelligent, polite and humble way he summed it up somehow, at some point in our lives we have had blood on our lips. hands, so I can't throw stones, if Dot was in conflict, all the vision that Lecrae brought here, made me reflect beyond the industry, put me in front of a mirror where I can only see my soul, my qualities, my defects and my sins

Kendrick don’t have to burden himself with the world.. he can’t beat the sin out of them.. it took Jesus dying to wipe that sin. And still then, humans don’t believe. So Mr. Morale must save himself.. coz even his own family won’t be with him in the end. We all gon answer for our fleshy sins alone!!

    Uriah the Hittite, Bathsheeba, and David... that reference, tho! Who let Eve taste the fruit was a reference to Adam standing by (not speaking up) and letting the serpent/devil deceive Eve when he knew better. Lecrae killed this joint. Shout out to K Dot for this concept and challenging the status quo... Shout out to Lecrae for this much needed perspective!

    • @alanoppel7485
      @alanoppel7485 2 месяца назад +4

      yo no my man Adam didn't even know she ate till she brought it to him, I think what Lecrae is trying to say is he is actually as guilty as the devil himself "who let Eve taste the fruit of death I'm that sinner" the word "let" here is used in the same context as "made" but it's my opinion, it just makes more sense to me from the stories perspective.

    • @korymcbride3137
      @korymcbride3137 2 месяца назад +3

      @alanoppel7485 I appreciate the comment and conversation. I looked at it from the perspective that when the Bible says Eve gave also to her husband "with her" is the translation of KJV and several others. I was under the impression that he was silent let the serpent deceive Eve, knowing the fruit was forbidden and willfully ate of it out of disobedience not deception. But again, thanks for sharing your comment. Be blessed

    • @alanoppel7485
      @alanoppel7485 2 месяца назад

      @@korymcbride3137 well the story of original or the first sin i:e the fall of man, is a complex one mainly because although Adam ate and ultimately disobeyed God causing the fall of man Adam was not deceived or beguiled (seduced) as Eve was all translations point to the same thing he ate because he loved Eve and if she was going to die and he would be alone again with out her he would rather die with her. This is the conclusion you are ultimately led to. Most people especially those of the more "strong independent women" persuasion won't like what I'm about to say, but the reason the serpent went after Eve instead of Adam was because Adam was made in God's image Eve was made in Adam's like a copy of a copy now some people may dispute my claim here but answer me this was Adam made for God? Was Eve made for Adam? Then there you have it.

      @@korymcbride3137you're right. Adam was there. He was well aware and he knew what was going on. It says Eve was deceived but Adam was not deceived, he straight up disobeyed.

      @irenee.3388 2 месяца назад

      @@alanoppel7485Go back and read again. Eve was not alone. Adam was there. Adam knew. That's why the Bible says Adam was not deceived, he disobeyed. Therefore, by one man sin entered into the world. Adam LET her eat. There was no sacrificial love here because he put the blame on Eve. It was a cowardly thing Adam did. Sacrificial love, would've been to not eat, but stand in Eve's place for judgement ("Husbands, love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her"). Lecrae is likening himself to Adam not the serpent.

      @@Senai-oq1qp the goat reference in Scripture is the scapegoat. It was the Israelites who used it as a holiness ritual to cleanse the people of the guilt of their sins. They would take the goat and pray over it; letting it then go out of the community; as a way to be cleansed of sin as the ritual would carry the guilt and shame of sin from the community into the wilderness. Since now the ritual is not the Redeemer of our sins but Christ; using goat terminology isn't even connected to our faith in context. The bigger issue would be whether we a s Christians should call any man a G.O.A.T understanding that the acronym is giving glory to a person when all glory should be presented to God; but goat imagery isn't a Christian issue. It's the pagans and satanists that took that imagery of goats being demonic and ran with it.

    Uriah was a top soldier in King David's army. One day the King was on his roof top and saw Uriah's wife bathing and was smitten by her. He ordered her up to his quarters and long story short got her pregnant. He called Uriah back from the battle to 'spend time with his wife' but he refused and slept at the palace as he pledged his alliance to his king refusing to go home to his wife. So the king had him murdered by proxy, thus he asked his commander Joab to ensures he (Uriah) dies in battle. This was so that David could wife up Bathsheba and thus cover up the adultery committed.

      There was a time in David’s life before he was king, when he was running from the King before him who was trying to kill him *and* the nations they were already at war with. For over a decade David traveled and battled and lived in caves with 30 men of valor who believed in him and defended him with their lives. All of them would become high ranking people when David got the crown because they were his friends; ride or die in a literal sense.
      In Chronicles in the Bible Uriah is named among the 30. This man was one of his real friends, shed sweat and blood for David; and in a moment of being consumed with his vices David ordered the hit, betrayed a real one- because nothing mattered more than the moment; than the thing he wanted; then how people viewed him- it’s like a biblical allegory for what hip hop has come to stand for… the way Crae points the finger back at himself with this analogy is so deep

      I'm gonna just have to wait n' see if he actually does feature Lecrae a lot more like he says. I hope he does but you and I both know that the engagement on his Lecrae songs won't be nearly as much because he's not mainstream and he's a Christian artist.

    I wouldn’t even call it a response, it’s almost like a DLC. It’s really great to hear a rapper profess his problems with the industry and America, without denying his involvement and engagement. This is one of the most honest and mature verses I’ve EVER HEARD out of all of rap. Hell I think this is even better than Kdots track.

      it's like a "passing the mic" - not a response - their perspectives on the hip hop culture situation ....got Lecrae's "what would Lecrae do" rap and Dee-1's rap "Call it Like it is".
