    Age 68. Two years ago, I started doing a few deep pressups on the hour, most hours. Since then, I've been able to work overhead all day, turn to look backwards on bicycle like when I was younger, etc. Swinging kettle weights up to 16kg about 50 swings from one hand to the other plus sone symmetrical 2-handed lifting above head gives me all the strength and flexibility I need. Helps my walking gait. At my age doing relatively heavy DIY jobs, this tool is not for my wallet. Looks fun though

      @FennahMakes  Год назад +2

      Yes it would! If I was you I would go and check it out once it’s available on the market! It’s quite an investment (in Europe it will sell for around €2800 ex vat) but if it saves your back? What do you think?

    • @cuebj
      @cuebj Год назад +3

      Probably better to get upper body fit. Plenty of videos for deep pressups (just 5 on the hour most hours) swinging kettle weights, and holding plank. Barely fifteen minutes a day total. Age 68, I've done it for 2 years. Despite being runner, cyclist, swimmer for decades, wish I'd done this decades ago. Huge benefits for working overhead, walking better, etc

    • @GB-mu9ue

      Being fit is a good idea in principle, as are labour saving devices. Not everyone can work out, but everyone can benefit from this technology. Yeah you’re 68 blah blah good for you. No one gives a toss mate.

      The weight is on your back and borne by your waist. And $3000 is a lot less than rotator cuff surgery. I know it looks weird and I’m a tough old tradesman, but if there’s no need to work our bodies until they’re broken, why would we. It’s great that the health and we’ll being of laborers is finally being respected.

    Double edged sword....once these become common, we'll be expected to work until we die (although as a member of the Americsn working class, thats already expected of us), work much longer hours, etc.
    Historically speaking, every single gain in labor efficency (advancements that have made workers more productive) has NEVER resulted in doing less work, it results in either doing the same amount of work or even more. Thisbis called the "rebound effect" and it is observed with technology as well with respect to eclnergy consumption, i.e. technological advancements in efficiency never result in a NET decrease in energy consumption.
    FYI: the ONLY thing that has ever lowered working hours or the demands on workers is labor activism and unions
