In 18th century no good poetry was composed by any poet. Prose satirical works were written a lot. Writers like Dryden, Pope, Johnson had written satirical works & given a clear picture of contemporary England. Literature written on this time were based on reason & intellect rather than religion & imagination.

Ma'am, Elizabethan Age is from 1558-1603 in English Literature. From 1603-1625 duration is known as Jacobean Age in English Literature so please correct yours. Thanks.
