- On a clear, stuffy August evening, Jason Dea West sat beneath a large Magnolia tree behind the Anti-Corp/Black Matter Mastering HQ accompanied by Benjamin Tod and recorded some songs. This is from that session.

Recorded live August 25th 2020 at approximately 8pm, on a humid 79 degree Nashville evening. All vocals and instruments performed by Jason Dea West with accompaniment by Benjamin Tod where noted. Recording and post production by Dan Emery at Black Matter Mastering. On this session we used 2 AKG- C414 B ULSs on vocals, 2 Shure SM81 on instruments and a homemade binaural mannequin for atmosphere.

I’ve watched my daughter grow through a damn screen most of the time. She’s 6 months old and I stay up just to watch her and my wife sleep. Just to see there faces.

This is such a pure sound
The little 5 note melody they play in the chorus after they say "close your eyes I'll be here for a while," is from some incredibly familiar song I can't quite place. It's not in the original Townes Van zandt version but I definitely know it's from a song I've heard a million times...

How can you be anti corporation and monetize your videos on RUclips/google. The biggest corporation there is. Song is great but not to fond of the label.
The name of the label is Anti-Corporate Music. We’re a label that doesn’t restrain or exploit our artists the way major corporate record labels do. That’s not saying that we exist in some vacuum where we can build up and pay artists without using resources created by corporations. You can’t even record a song without supporting some kind of corporation. Your lack of fondness doesn’t help the artists on the label in any useful way, so I guess thanks for pointing yourself out for just kinda being around.
