They get 7th place by the jury vote with the best live performance they ever made… so the explanation I gave myself is that:
-the jury rarely vote for the winning country
-the song has already had a major success so it didn’t get much attention or the style is not appreciate at esc… in comparison with much more spectacularized songs. People are more drove to grand scenario than music at esc.
-the fact they perform live only in the final don’t give people time to metabolize the song and the lyric that are in italian and are the focal point of their exhibition
Despite all they get the best placement in years for a winning country… and even if they didn’t perform at their best in the final the emotions we get in the arena was magical…out of this world…The song is already a classic! In the end we are happy that ukraine won… They have the brightest future and I can’t look forward to see what mahmood have composed by working with Tiara Thomas and Westen Weiss in LA😍
So… what you watched was the jury show performance from the Friday night (which is what the juries base their scores on), which as you saw, was just perfect. Unfortunately the performance on the Saturday night wasn’t quite as good, and their vocals were pretty off, which was a shame. I do think they’d have got a better placing if they’d replicated the Friday performance on the Saturday, but it wasn’t quite to be. Still, Brividi was by far my favourite song this year, and I agree that it was the best quality song this year!

Yes,they are out of time sometime and it was a pity: maybe the emotion( Blanco is very young) or the chorus of the crowd that confused them.

@@pirimpallopirimpalli4932 yeah in fact all the votes were all for ukraine and it was right like that.. mahmood even made campaign for them so the public vote were gone. The scandal for me was more that a technical jury give them so little points for a song that is out of scale… but at the end who cares! They don’t need to win..

Ever since the grand final I have felt really sad because of all the criticism on Twitter towards their grand final performance. At the moment when I was watching it, I was totally into it (I sang along, I cried, I felt absolutely elated).Then right after that, I went online and saw all the harsh comments, which kinda ruined the entire night for me :(
I hate it when people judge an artist's overall capability based on just one live performance. I hate it even more when they compare it with their favorites to feel superior somehow.
Tbh I didn't expect them to win at all for multiple reasons and only hoped for a top 5 result. So the fact that they just missed out on top 5 makes me quite disappointed, although I guess I will come to terms with it soon.

you should react to singer Diodato and performance of "Fai rumore" during the first semi final. it will blow your mind away!
it was a rehearsal just before eurovision final, final performance was not as good as others, I think Blanco was a bit nervous (honestly same, he's only 19 and millions of ppl were watching), but you should watch their semi-final performance which is so much better than the final one ;)
This one is not a reharsal, it's the Friday performance called jury show where the juries vote . And the juries put them 7th! only 7! with this perfect performance and a song like Brividi👎. It is clear Italy couldn t win even with a grear perfornance saturday

Thank you so much Gio! ❤ I don't know if this is the only reason, I honestly think victory was impossible but yes I hoped in a 3rth/4rt place at least, but as someone already said, their final performance wasn't perfect as always, Blanco was very excited and agitated and his voice trembled (but I mean, he was at his first international event watched by 200mln people and he is only 19!), Mahmood, knowing him, was a bit agitated too...But no doubts about their talent, their chemistry and the beautiful song that Brividi is! The numbers and records they reached with this song are absolutely unbelievable, we are very proud of them! 🇮🇹 ❤ Mahmood got 2nd place in 2019 and Soldi after 3 years is still on european charts after this Eurovision 😃... But I think that, for this year, 2nd or 6th isn't a big difference...They are on top 10 and for the host country it's a good placement, Brividi is a succesfull song, they both did sold out concerts few days before ESC, and people as you are saying these lovely words on them...I'm happy for them and for Italy! 💗 And I'm happy Ukraine won! 🇺🇦💗
I don’t understand why they didn’t win either, best song with a big difference. And a BIG yes to everything you said. Hopefully they have big careers outside of ESC. Europe is not ready for quality only for the show.
If you want the goosebumps you have to see the performance at ESC2022 by Diodato with his song FAI RUMORE. It will make you cry

Oh, I absolutely loved the jury final, it was lovely. I need to check the RAI official page, the recording must be there. I I need a compilation of all the outfits, as a designer I just freaking loved every single one of them. I do think the last one was less flattering, but it was beautiful piece. Honestly, I would have accepted third, because Ukraine, eurovision is about unity and all of that, and there were a couple of songs that were amazing. And lets be honest, if the contest was three months ago Brividi would have won. But people got used to it, i still sing it everyday but I understand I'm the weird one 😂

I know how you feel because I was slightly disappointed as they were my favourites too, but I totally understand that on the night other entries stood out more. You should see the actual tv video to see what I mean, i know they are geoblocked in the us but try a vpn or i could try sending a few to you. Also, 6th is a very very good position.

I totally agree with you...Spaceman is a compendium of last 60 years of english music (the dead beatles and Bowie are still spinning in their graves while Elton is claiming his royalties) ....Spain is a dance with some percussions ...Sweden is a fading copy of Shallow...and Serbia is a theatrical socio-political performance with some rhythm ...and this moving wonderful SONG (European SONG contest) with precious melody, jumps of seventh, inversions and beautiful falsettos was 6TH !!! Can't believe it !

@@jaydeebee3658 I'm talking about MUSIC, original innovative chords,melody, rhythm. harmony. They weren't out of tune in the performance for jurys' votes and you really think that an out of tune in a Vivaldi concert could affect the quality of the composition ?

If you want my personal opinion about the other songs I can tell you that I found musically valid and original Greece and Portugal.
Poland wonderfully sung by Ochman is a mixed-copy of Arcade and Tout l'Univers (same producer: what a coincidence!). I loved Ukraine and UK (that was far far far better than the last 10 years)...i liked Armenia, Azerbaijan, Poland and France ...but nothing new under the sun. And you...do you have the guts to express your opinions ?
@@giovannifelici7301 è vero che le altre canzoni sembrano copie più sbiadite di altre, o almeno non sembrano così tanto originali. Il problema dell'Italia è che non ha provato nemmeno a vincere: con una sola performance a disposizione per convincere milioni di persone a spendere soldi per votare per te devi rendere lo staging memorabile: a me sembra che l'esibizione dell'Italia sia stata "volutamente" piatta, con pochissimi giochi di luci e effetti. Se la metti in confronto alla Spagna, con la bellissima Chanel, rimaneva molto anonima, soprattutto in un'edizione dove c'erano tante - troppe - ballate.
Questo però spiega in parte ciò che è successo, non del tutto.
I punti forti di Brividi erano: testo e armonia > il testo deve essere letto e tradotto per essere compreso all'estero, magari nello stesso modo in cui avevano proceduto per Soldi, dove sullo sfondo c'erano talvolta delle traduzioni del testo per far comprendere il significato, unito a delle immagini per far comprendere il messaggio... questa volta niente.
E la canzone aveva bisogno di essere riascoltata più volte, per questo è un peccato che le 5 nazioni non possano esibirsi anche nelle serate di semifinale.
c'è da dire però che hanno anche stonato parecchio nell'ultima live. Seriamente per me rimane un mistero, forse avevano le voci stanche, so che Blanco aveva continuato ad esibirsi per altri concerti. Penso seriamente che l'Italia non ci abbia messo genio per vincere (forse avevamo paura di vincere di nuovo? boh)

@@monspat3088 Sono quasi totalmente d'accordo con te (Slomo è una delle peggiori musicalmente battuta forse solo dal "pezzo" rumeno) e penso che la soluzione alle "stonature" sia il fatto che in un palasport con migliaia di spettatori che dalla prima nota tentano di cantare con te, azzeccare un'armonizzazione a due con un salto di ottava sia quasi come vincere un terno al lotto: non a caso nel filmato per le giurie (senza pubblico) nonchè dal vivo a Sanremo con un pubblico minore e non "partecipante" le stonature non ci sono state e la prima serata di Sanremo è stata perfetta, a parte una sbavatura di Blanco
sul TU di "che sporchi il letto di vino"). Le meravigliose portoghesi "armonizzavano" in 6 rendendo impercettibili eventuali sbavature. Comunque per chiudere non credo che un'esibizione imperfetta possa inficiare la QUALITA' senza paragoni del pezzo italiano. E vorrei anche specificare che non sono un patriota estremista e ottuso, anzi al contrario sono sempre ipercritico con tutto quello che è italiano (perchè col livello di Arte del passato che vive simbioticamente in noi non ci accontentiamo mai facilmente). Ammetto che il mio "difetto" è prendere alla lettera SONG CONTEST e quindi dare alla "confezione" un valore minore del contenuto ! Grazie per la tua risposta che ho trovato molto pertinente e stimolante.👍

Dear Gio, if we should count all the times Italy was robbed at Esc we would never finish. The truth is italian music's quality is so superior we should win every year but we can't, so i guess the jury are kind of "forced" to penalize us sometimes. Anyway we had already won last year and we knew it was really hard for it to happen again, especially with the whole Ucraine stuff going on. But for the host country to end up in 6th position was actually a great result, infact it was the highest a hosting country has scored in years and we also reached the record of consecutive years in the top ten, not to mention the prize for the best lyrics which has been given to us for three years in a row now. So all in all it didn't go that bad 🙂

None of the videos are actually Available in the USA sadly so I had to look for a few days for some audience clips . The one with blanco wearing the white sparkle outfit is not available at all 😕
