Yes, with health removed from AP items and ADC's still not having any viable defense items, burst champions are going to thrive. The game is in a horrible state if you don't play a 1 shot champ like ekko. but yea, enjoy one shotting everyone while the games balance is in shambles.
I am building protobelt stormsurge rabadon cryptbloom/void and lich/mejais. It's sooo fun and strong. With the amount of ms u get from items u can also easily sell boots, and your build is cheaper so you reach 6 items much earlier.

I dont know why i feel ekko dont do damage. I cant kill nobody on early game, struggles vs jungle mobs seriously i dont understand nothing xd

I build belt -> lichbane -> stormsurge -> shadowflame
Will try your buildpath but currently i really happy with mine
been building storm surge - protobelt - lich bane - mejais/shadowflame - rabadons and it feels great
