No. In the most popular version, there are 196 countries recognized (UN members, Vatican, Kosovo and Taiwan). If we added to this list the most autonomous territories like Palestine, Abchasia, Faroe Islands or Puerto Rico, the estimated answer would be max.220.

Well micronations CLAIM to be a NATION but the problem with them is that since there is no recognition or even land they say they own but it’s a another countries land you could kind of call them fake mini nations since they are not recognized by any organization or countries so really you need EMPTY land for you to make it and a flag to put there (not on other countries soil or stone since that’s called using fake land) and you can either ask countries to be recognized or ask the UN although here are the requirements (you must not be a monarchy)

Chinese isn't a language. The people in the PRC speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Hokkien, and a variety of other languages although Mandarin is the only state recognized language. The interesting thing is, there is only one main written script within the PRC, simplified chinese. So a person from southern China and a person from northern China may not understand each other when speaking but they could communicate through text.

If you want an exact number I'd stick with 197. This is generally the universally agreed upon number, but if you recognize others like Abkhazia and such it could go higher. For instance, I recognize Hong Kong, making my number 198.

Future Nomad there is. It's an independent country, even though Marocco counts it as itself. It's just because Western Sahara were Spain in the period of WW2 while Marocco were French.
Western Sahara IS a country, It's called the Saharan Arab Democratic Republic. It's just being overrun by Morocco because Morocco is so desperate for land because they want their old kingdom back. Morocco needs to back off and stop interfering with people's happiness.
It isn't a country though, morroco controls all the important parts while the polisario control some random desert parts that aren't important and they don't function as a state

I think that one of the biggest roadblocks in finding the answer to this question is the different names for subsections of countries (states, counties, provinces, shires, etc.). I get that most of the terms have different political meanings, but the confusion is caused when you're trying to use one term that can be applied in multiple different ways.
As an Australian, when I hear 'Territory', my first thought is NT & ACT (Northern Territory & Australian Capital Territory), which are most definitely parts of Australia (heck, they don't even have individual governments!), though this term can also be used to describe a region somewhere in between independence and unity with a larger, or politically stronger "country."
In short: Technicalities are a nightmare, and political definitions are overrated.

When I visited Taiwan I very much felt like I was in a proper country with people living normal lives, flags, a national identity destinct from the mainland, their own linguistic quirks like the large use of hokkien or minnan as it's called in chinese, even some mandarin is diffrent, like my chinese teacher said (she is a mainlander btw) It's a very sad state of affairs, no matter what they do, they can't go anywhere without their bigger brother deciding if they can or not, they have no power to make their own choice.

I guess it depends on how you see it. Wikipedia states that the terms country, region, province and part of the UK are all common.
Personally I care more about whether a land has a sovereign government than how it is thought of by other states and it seems Northern Ireland is pretty independent, but kind of like one of the US are; the UK decides taxation and foreign policy for her.
