Just after this Amazon prime put out an announcement that they are made deals with Games workshop to produce a Warhammer 40k TV show managed by Henry Cavill
Let's just hope it won't be controlled by Amazon like what happened with Rings of Power, and hopefully there won't be any female space marines or custodes
I believe its a Gladius.. Basically a kind of combat knife popularised by the Ultramarines, with variants used in other chapters. Gladius also being the Latin name for the swords used by Roman foot soldiers. Fitting for the Ultramarine themeing.
"What could a soul like that be capable of?" Spoken in the beginning, it gives a sense of worry of what atrocities he could commit. An unstoppable force. At the end, it gives a sense of wonder and awe. An unbreakable and courageous spirit.
Titus joins a Bladeguard Veteran squad to a Tzeentch controlled planet. They are attacked by Cultists, then Tzaangors. The man in the box was an Astropath. A psyker who projects a protective shield from Warp entities. They're finally attack by a Sorcerer who exposed their fears. The veteran sergeant is afraid Titus will fall to Chaos. Titus has no fear.
Dont forget that for a Space Marine the only end of duty is death. So when Matteaus tells Titus "its time to go, our duty is done", he is basically telling Titus its time to die now.
That wasn't always the case though. Ahriman planned to cultivate wine after they conquered the galaxy and the Space Marines weren't needed anymore. But on the other hand, Ahriman was from a good legion and not of these soulless loyal machines.
@@vermilion7777 ah yes the "good" legion that joined the chaos gods and has no interest in defending the survival of the human race but instead tries to end them in the name of their own power.
Some context: This takes place after the events of Space Marine 2 (Titus has the Imperial Laurel honor badge on his helmet that he received at the end of the game.) It's either the next mission that we see him being sent to in the final cutscene or some other later mission after that. 5:05 The egg shells probably have to do with Tzeentch and his daemons, who are usually in birdlike forms. Birds and bird eggs may have been part of Tzeentch rituals and worshipping that the cultists were performing to their chosen god. The paper reverse fizzling into existence is probably just some kind of weird warp distortion to show that the laws of reality of breaking down in this area. Tzeentch type Chaos magic deals with change and shifting the nature of reality. 7:44 The mission objective. A statue of a Tzeentch Greater Daemon. We aren't given much detail about this. It's probably the source of Chaos corruption and a threat to the planet. It must be destroyed. 7:55 That's a psyker (probably some kind of astropath) that was brought along to protect the Space Marines from any Chaos dark magic and reality warping. The marines became vulnerable to the Tzeentch sorcerer's time warping powers once this psyker was killed and his protective psychic barrier fell. 8:30 This gets a little more complicated. Basically, the Tzeentch sorceror used its dark powers to invade the minds of the marines and turned their fears against them. I think deep down the first marine believed he had some kind of weakness within himself, which he thought could one day lead to him failing his brothers and failing in his duty. This was his source of fear and doubt. The Tzeentch sorcerer who invaded his mind discovered this inner fear and brought it directly to the surface, likely even amplifying it to extreme levels. This is what caused the marine to turn against himself and then destroy himself in his own mind, which was then manifested by the sorcerer's dark magic as actual damage and injury in reality. We didn't see inside the mind of the second marine who was killed/wounded, but it could have been something similar. 8:45 I think the fear of Metaurus was his choice to recruit Titus. Titus is a unique anomaly in that he literally lacks any fear at all, which is something that makes him dangerous and unpredictable. Metaurus feared his chosen protege could one day become corrupted and turned into a powerful agent of Chaos. The death and destruction this could bring would have been Metaurus' fault. The sorcerer found this fear and used it against Metaurus, wounding him in the real world. 9:09 The sorcerer finally invades Titus' mind. To the sorcerer's surprise, Titus is not like other men and has no fear whatsoever. The sorcerer has no power there. Nothing to use against him. Titus retaliates in his mind and breaks its staff. As we see with the other marines, this damage is manifested back into the real world and the staff actually breaks, which apparently is the source of the sorcerer's reality warping dark powers. Time resumes and Titus kills it.
I would argue that while this is happening during the mission, this was not the original content of the mission, you can see every time we are shown the ships from the outside, they are trapped mid transit, thats not normal, so the mission went fubar, and a suicide strike, became necessary ...
I think the first Astartes feared he was weak without his Power Armour, and that's why his human body is frail and weak when the armour pulls it out, and as any astartes knows, weakness must be purged.
@@NordisktLejon Yeah, I think it's something like this. The demon seems to take the form of each of their fears, the armor for the first marine, and was killed by his armor after being removed from it. It took the form of Titus for Metaurus, and that form stabbed Metaurus. But Titus has no fear, so there's no form for the demon to take.

Not really. The statue was hiding the chaos power thingy from orbital bombardment by surrounding it with a bit of warp area. Destroying it meant that the Space Marine strike cruiser can now pinpoint the area, the fact that the destruction of the statue released an unholy amount of warp energy also helps. This is also why wars in 40k can't just be ended with bombing people from space all the time as there are ways to stop that.

I like to believe the spell backfired and in this moment the sorcerer feared Titus breaking his timespell, essentially manifesting the scene of the staff being broken and the timespell broken himself, as in, Titus is not shown moving physically until after the staff is broken.
Pretty sure that the one who animated ASTARTES is the animation director(have not double checked) Secret Level 40k episode.Have at least read a place that he is heavily involved; and there are reasons why it looks so good !
Welcome back. Your reaction was almost as entertaining as the episode! Don't worry about the tears my dude, I watched it over ten times now and it makes me tear up every time! I tell you, if this is what Amazon is willing to put out, I firmly believe the future is bright! Happy new year to you and yours as well!
The final "what could a soul like that be capable of" as he runs into the rain and thunder is such a fucking epic way to end the episode. Gives me chills every time
This was fantastic. The guy who made Astartes is confirmed ot have had a hand in this somehow. And I can kinda tell from the framing of some of those shots. Also irrelevant to 40k, But I did quite enjoy the Unreal Tournament episode of Secret Level as well.
I always feel like shedding tears during the ending. The look on the Blades Guard Sergeant's face seeing Titus..... He looks so proud and honored to have someone like Titus fighting along side of humanity. In his eyes, Titus is still that child, still growing, still getting more stronger and stronger. Still the fearless warrior that he saw. "What could a soul like that be capable of..."
If u felt ready to see a piece of what happend and how brutal was the first hours of the Horus Heresy... "Death of Hope Trailer 1", "Death of Hope Trailer 2" and "Death of Hope Part 1: Anarchy Reigns"
The demons are tzeetnch flavoured to say the least, the sounds, storytelling style, movements and actions of the space marines are heavily influenced by astartes i believe the creator of that actually has a credit for this.
Well...they are literally fighting off tzaangors in that dark scene plus other bird references and time manipulating. For what I know Astertes dude was at least in charge of camera here.
when you realize all the things that Titus has been through. distrust, betray, deceived, framed, and he still willing to fight for all humankind, that ending just make me can't stop crying like the end of the Dark knight
This animation made me ball. It hits hard because its extremely paternal. Obviously exaggerated, but right on point. My son turned 18 this year and he's off to Uni. I wonder how he will handle the slings and arrows of life. To turn and face the metaphorical demons, and to meet them with commensurate grit. It's everything a father hopes for. Brilliant to build the animation with that subtext, brilliant!
glad to see you back on 40k, hope you had a fantastic xmas. Secret level done well enough to get a 2nd series and there already pretty solid rumors that 40k will return as one of them. We also now have the official news that Cavils 40k series will go ahead along with amazon getting rights to use 40k for shows and movies. so lots to look forward to even though its many years away
I had to watch the episode twice to comprehend what was going on with the environment. I basically decided that the power of chaos in this area has warped the flow of time and the very fabric of reality. That could explain why they slid down the side of a sheer cliff face only to slow down stop, and then they walked the rest of the way. It could also explain why the fluids were floating up.
I’ve been waiting for 25 years for content like this. For all that time I’ve said the IP is perfect for a tv series or film. Looks like we are close to getting something full length!
henry is making a mayor 40 k series and he is in LOVE with it since his childhood this wil be epic. also the guy from astartes was involved with this one. and it showed. also this wasnt the past this was after spacemarine 2
I thought that Titus was amazing before SM2, but everything after has made him my favorite character in 40K, maybe of all fiction. His story is amazing, and I'm glad we got to see Titus after SM2 so soon. He really trusts his brothers, and we finally get to see why he is just so resistant to the warp. The man has no fear. Full stop. That first marine to die's fear was that he was not worthy of the armor he wore, so it crushed him. Sergeant Metaurus' fear was that Titus, the child filled with anger and rage, would become corrupted and turn traitor. That's why his vision was Titus getting all Chaos spiky and stabbing him, but we know that will never happen. So when the daemon got to Titus, there was no weakness to exploit, no fear AT ALL. A true "I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with ME." moment.
Worthy of note: the bolts in their heads are gold, which mean 100 years of service each, whereas in space marine 2 the bolts are silver, which means 50 years of service.
Been around since your Dbs content man, always love to see a post notification from you, but even more know that i know you’re into 40k! Im stoked! Keep up the hard work man!
"Bravery is stronger than adamantium, one is the stuff off the soul forges, the other an illusion of safety created by fools! ADAMANTIUM WALLS CANNOT KEEP US OUT! WE HAVE THE COURAGE OF THE EMPEROR! ATTACK, ATTACK NO PRISONERS " A space marine on a typical tuesday.
I've never clicked on a video so fast. Happy new year you MAD LAD! 😁 Amazon just officially confirmed the deal for GWs Henry Cavill's live action 40K series! it'll be a while but it is actually happening for real now. BTW if you want more 40k vids to react to for 2025 I highly recommend THE REMEMBRANCER's youtube channel; Space marine characters, lore and successor chapters Horus Heresy lore Primarchs Chaos and Xenos lore vids This channel has it ALL and the narrator does his vids in a really cool voice.
Titus is definitely a null. A blank. He's an anathema to the warp and warp entities. They loath his presence or massively underestimate him in battle. In the 40k lore people have an natural distrust and feel incredibly uncomfortable around nulls, resulting in weaker mortals tend to hunt down and kill nulls or banish them from communities. Probably why his fellow Astartes are deeply suspicious of Titus' presence and his immunity against psykers and even daemons. His incarceration by the Inquisition proved fruitless. Their frustration built up when they believed he couldve only defeated a greater deamon with unholy assistance was finally proved to be not warranted even after all the interrogation methods at their disposal. Even in Space Marine 2, psykers lost their minds immediately when Titus turned up. His mentor fears Titus because of his rage and zero fear. This misguided fear of Titus from his mentor is eating away at his judgement, believing like others that Titus could fall to Chaos if unchecked, but in fact the opposite is true. This latest mission against Tzeentch was organised by Chaplin Leandros who probably has aims of finally solving his Titus "problem" with an mission absolute. This is a clue at the end of Space Marine 2. Basically a suicide mission orchestrated by Leandros, but obviously Titus is a hard Astartes to kill off. The only question left is how far Leandros is willing to go to kill his former Captain.
this 40k animation. It has a "father and son" theme. a feeling that anyone who had a good father knows what it's like and even those who didn't can feel it in this animation at the end.
I hope (more like wish) to see a future storyline where Titus is in a mission with Grey Knights' Castellan Crowe. I want that wicked black blade come to life cg animation.
As a 40k nerd I need to point out that that psyker in the "box" couldn't have survived the fall of the drop-pod. It's certain death for non-augmented humans
My dude Titus looked back at his mentor and basically said.”hey I will protect you now, watch me take all these heretics out…by myself!!!! Courage and Honor!!!!
So has Titus cemented himself as THE space marine? 2 video games, a full fledge AAA budget episode in a show, and now we pretty much know this guy has no fear at all. I know there are others that are more experienced and probably more skillful in combat but Titus is about to rise to huge levels of fame due to Space Marine 2 popularity and now this show being the gateway for a lot Of people into the 40k universe
Love it!! Only problem is that no space marine chapter would ever willingly send marines into suicide missions. That's what the guard is for. The geneseed and armor value alone would prevent that, not to mention the plasma pistol and power weapons which are more than likely considered chapter relics. Other than that loved it.
Something really bad and fucked up traumatised Titus as a child. You see him dragging that Astartes combat knife like a giant sword. But at the same time, this trauma has given Titus an unwavering level of willpower so that no Chaos influence or Ruinous Powers can shake him. He's basically Goblin Slayer, but in 40K.
Of all the Secret level episodes this is my favorite along with the Armored Core one, they just do it right! I can't wait to see how the 2nd season of Secret level(its confirmed) will be and what fun stuff that will bring. I really think 40K will take off with the Warhammer TV show, i mean, Henry Cavill is at the helm and he knows his 40K stuff.
You ever gonna complete operations mode in space marine 2 it’s definitely worth it there’s some missions that are crazier than some campaign missions YOU GET TO FIGHT A HIVE TYRANT AND A HIEROPHANT BILE TITAN
Yes, we got to see a glimt of Titus' past. But in true 40k lore-building style it we as only a tiny glimpse. To be built upon later with another glimpse. and so on. This is how 40k become the beast it is today. 40 years of expanding and building upon glimpses given given earlier. Step by step. Sometimes dropping things, yes, but not by announcing a ret-con, no, by simply not mentioning something for a while and then maybe filling the gap with something else. But usually not having to do even that since it was all just glimpses and half-truths anyway.
i love the fact the Demon had the equivalent to a pickachu face of surprise when titus fought back on a psychic level

I like to believe the spell backfired and in this moment the sorcerer feared Titus breaking his timespell, essentially manifesting the scene of the staff being broken and the timespell broken himself, as in, Titus is not shown moving physically until after the staff is broken.
Pretty sure that the one who animated ASTARTES is the animation director(have not double checked) Secret Level 40k episode.Have at least read a place that he is heavily involved; and there are reasons why it looks so good !
he was not animation director but layout artist
The warps touch: *exists*
Titus: “Gay.”
Mission was explained at the start, along with their chances of survival... They were Tzaangors and cultists, and a trixy Sorcerer of Tzeentch.
"What could a soul like that be capable of"
Titus has always been special, he is a perfect candidate for the Emperor's Champion
Amazon is making one with helped by Henry Carval, who played Superman and Gerald from the Witcher
Gerald… 🤦
@@Zagzeroth Carval
@@Lead_Foot Fuck didn’t notice that one.
Both are diff franchise.
Most important is. Henry Cavill plays a Custodian army. Is a fan of WH40K.
If u felt ready to see a piece of what happend and how brutal was the first hours of the Horus Heresy... "Death of Hope Trailer 1", "Death of Hope Trailer 2" and "Death of Hope Part 1: Anarchy Reigns"
Best depiction of Chaos we could have hoped for. Not just violent demons, but the corrupt twisting of reality and the dark magic of the void
@Zabijaka87 hence "to say the least"
when you realize all the things that Titus has been through.
distrust, betray, deceived, framed,
and he still willing to fight for all humankind,
that ending just make me can't stop crying
like the end of the Dark knight
Warhammer 40k Amazon series confirmed
i think that, Astartes, and the Horus Heresy Trailer are my absolute favourite pieces of 40K media, just unbelievable
Our boy Syama delivered again. Syama Pedersen, creator of Astartes, was involved in this project.
"What could a soul like that be capable of?"
With the body and training of a Space Marine? Whatever the hell he wants. 😁
The details are really cool. I like how the purity seals flame away when they’re entering the tainted area.
right on man you got it.
Titus had no business looking this hot
Chills...every....time. Loved the reaction. Thanks. 😊
I definitely recommend watching the PAC-MAN episode, it's incredible and unironically the best
Great reaction bro. Loving the 40k content back
I thought that Titus was amazing before SM2, but everything after has made him my favorite character in 40K, maybe of all fiction.
The Tzaangors aren't really daemons but corrupted beastmen which are mutants. They look very daemonic though so yeah.
All that I need to know is if they are xenos, mutant, or heretic. The details really don't matter past that.
I started pointing directly at the screen menacingly and you looked up right then. That was fun.
"Bravery is stronger than adamantium, one is the stuff off the soul forges, the other an illusion of safety created by fools! ADAMANTIUM WALLS CANNOT KEEP US OUT! WE HAVE THE COURAGE OF THE EMPEROR! ATTACK, ATTACK NO PRISONERS "
A space marine on a typical tuesday.
I've never clicked on a video so fast. Happy new year you MAD LAD! 😁
Amazon just officially confirmed the deal for GWs Henry Cavill's live action 40K series! it'll be a while but it is actually happening for real now.
BTW if you want more 40k vids to react to for 2025 I highly recommend THE REMEMBRANCER's youtube channel;
Space marine characters, lore and successor chapters
Horus Heresy lore
Primarchs
Chaos and Xenos lore vids
This channel has it ALL and the narrator does his vids in a really cool voice.
Titus is simply *different*
you can also see when that one cultist shoots the sergeant in the head, his buddy looks at him like wtf did you do that for lol
Warhammer 40,000 The Ultimate Guide
by Gavin Thorpe (Author), Guy Haley (Author).......well worth a look
As a 40k nerd I need to point out that that psyker in the "box" couldn't have survived the fall of the drop-pod. It's certain death for non-augmented humans
My dude Titus looked back at his mentor and basically said.”hey I will protect you now, watch me take all these heretics out…by myself!!!! Courage and Honor!!!!
In the grim darkness of the grim dark grim dark, there is only grim darkness.
Best reaction ive seen so far! 😢 beautiful brother.
Nice to see some emotions. This is tremendous stuff. What i've been waiting for since 1987.
It feels like they are truly angels and something beyond human, portrayed so well in this film.
I like watching your reactions on Warhammer 40K!) Greetings from Russia❤
Emperor Protects Brother.
Titus, like some other characters in this setting, is just Build Different
"Angels of Death" movie is waiting for you.
Peak cinema
I’ve been missing these
Counterpoints40K channel (marine veteran) nicely explains what's happening in the animation.
P.S. This animation is sick!
we all do.
Once again, man is literally to angry to die...
I especially enjoyed the Mega Man episode.
Even though it's pretty short, still.... Very good.
The ending gives me Garviel Loken vibes
I knew what was going to happen but I still got chills
Love it!! Only problem is that no space marine chapter would ever willingly send marines into suicide missions. That's what the guard is for. The geneseed and armor value alone would prevent that, not to mention the plasma pistol and power weapons which are more than likely considered chapter relics. Other than that loved it.
How’s your reading/book collection coming along DeeBee? :)
BRUHHH DEEBEEEEE
HOW DID IT TAKE YOU THIS LONG MAN
THAT WAS LIKE WHEN MY MOMMY LOST ME IN THE TARGET :( I FELT SO LOST AND ALONE
Did you notice the Terminator badge on the lead space marine?
I'm thinking Titus is going to become a Master Chief type character
Something really bad and fucked up traumatised Titus as a child. You see him dragging that Astartes combat knife like a giant sword.
But at the same time, this trauma has given Titus an unwavering level of willpower so that no Chaos influence or Ruinous Powers can shake him. He's basically Goblin Slayer, but in 40K.
Where’s the second channel!!?!?? Can’t find a link?
And remember, Leandros chose TItus for this mission, with Mortality: Absolute... hmmmmmmmm
Happy new year Dee! Love your reactions on the WH40 ep man. Also, will you eventually finish Echoes of Wisdom on RUclips? 😊
4:03 the glasses aren’t doing their jobb huh 😂
You ever gonna complete operations mode in space marine 2 it’s definitely worth it there’s some missions that are crazier than some campaign missions
YOU GET TO FIGHT A HIVE TYRANT
AND A HIEROPHANT BILE TITAN
Where can i watch?
The first guy metarus is Mr Eko from Lost
WE SHARE TEARS TOGETHER BROTHERS!
Let the hype flow through you
It has been a minute. But you don't have to explain to me that you were busy celebrating/partying it up with fam. I get it. :)
They got a Pocket Psyker
Where have you been!? Lol. Nah, it’s a hectic time of year.
Courage and Honor 🎖
Plz watch Pariah Nexus and the Tithes
06:46 - priceless
You did not still look Hammer and bolter?
Yes, we got to see a glimt of Titus' past. But in true 40k lore-building style it we as only a tiny glimpse. To be built upon later with another glimpse. and so on. This is how 40k become the beast it is today. 40 years of expanding and building upon glimpses given given earlier. Step by step. Sometimes dropping things, yes, but not by announcing a ret-con, no, by simply not mentioning something for a while and then maybe filling the gap with something else. But usually not having to do even that since it was all just glimpses and half-truths anyway.
