ok i finished the video and i have to say i agree with everything. we both moved this year so that probably adds to the shared experience and opinions. the one thing i think you got wrong is the social scene in winter. snow sports, book clubs at cozy coffee shops, indoor sports like climbing, local concerts, and bar crawls have been really popping off since october. and i have made some friends doing a few of these! but disclaimer i do live in cap hill which is lively regardless of temperature
Thanks for your insights! I definitely need to get out there a bit more and find these communities during the winter. I'm happy to hear you're finding cool social scenes!
Lmao. I want to move to Seattle and stayed in pioneer square last time I visited. I really like that area. It’s so close to transit to get anywhere else in the city. But the lack of grocery stores besides the target on pike is something to consider. Columbia city seemed lovely too.
Haven't been to Columbia city - will have to check it out! Yeah pioneer square is beautiful but I feel like not super practical because of the grocery situation. Maybe with a car though it could be doable!
Happy Holidays Keith... Yes its been a year for you in Seattle.. Time flies:) Great video, great info!! Appreciate all the helpful tips.... agree Winters are not so great when it gets dark at 4:00pm... hahah Who wants to go to bed at 5pm?!!!! Have a wonderful holiday, enjoy the season .. Cheers
Good video. I was there in Seattle in 2003. I had seriously considered moving there. I am thankful I did not and to be where I am. Please understand I did enjoy my time there. I really did.
You are indeed very happy in Seattle, and it shows wonderfully. When I lived there, there the Winter was alive with stage and symphony productions. I hope that hasnt changed, but if not those are great activities to enjoy during the winter.
@@keithsdiary The Opera House has some great shows. Right now the Drunken Christmas Carol is playing, and the Magic Flute in Feb. There are also some Winter vintage train adventures at the NW Railway Museum. And, if Tacoma is an option, there is always something going on at Pt Defiance Park, which can be reached by ferry, too. There are plenty of places to visit by ferry from Seattle, too.
LOVE Wallingford cause its walking distance to Fremont & gasworks but is very neighborhood-y with cute houses. I think it would be difficult to live there if you rely on public transit, but outside of that I really like that area too.
🌲 Seattle is such a hidden gem of a city

Irecently enjoyed visiting the Paramount for a show! But still definitely trying to find other winter things to keep busy as much has died down.
