Is Bostic on to something? We think the Atlanta Fed president is right to warn about “pent-up exuberance,” the business community’s readiness to pounce on opportunities en masse the minute interest rates drop. Demand then could surge, triggering resurgent inflation. The Fed should be wary of tripping that wire by lowering interest rates too soon. … Yet Fed Chair Powell sounded ready to ease soon last Thursday. We don’t think the recession threat (of keeping rates higher for longer) is as worrisome as the pent-up exuberance threat (of easing too soon). … Our Roaring 2020s scenario is right on track. Fingers crossed the Fed doesn’t mess with success.

Heard a podcast on Investing Experts where the gentleman stated the next 10 year will return an average of negative 5%. Also the market will be 40% lower than today.. Finally he compared today's valuation to 1929. Very interesting view. He was also about to launch a paid news letter. Wouldn't have been the way I would have pitched it.

I agree with you Ed that Fed will hold tight. I am thinking July at the earliest and then maybe Dec., post election. Inflation is leaning toward 3%, not 2%, why put more liquidity in the market. Key next week in BOJ. They may finally get off of negative rates. Read your book on Yield Curves. It was very good.

I agree that rates do not need to be lowered just because inflation has come down. But perhaps rate needs to be reduced to make it easy for banks to lend?

They already announced BTFP and ended it. Didnt like the arbitrage opportunity it provided.
